  1. I had vsg surgery on 11/20/17. After surgery I was very sick and had to stay in the hospital for a week. I am doing way better now and I’m finally able to eat and drink but I’ve noticed my speech is different. I find myself slurring my words a lot. Especially words with the letter S in them. My doctor says it’s a side effect of anesthesia but it’s been 2 weeks! It’s so aggravating.

    What did I do?!?

I’ve been admitted to the hospital. Getting lots of fluid and nausea meds. I’m also having this horrid pain in my left shoulder. Gas pain maybe? Surgeon doesn’t suspect a leak because all of my vitals look great. I’m hoping tomorrow morning things will go down a lot easier. Thanks for replying everyone! Makes me feel a bit better!

Npo is nothing by mouth. I hope it passes soon!
  5. I had my vsg surgery on 11/20/17. It is now 11/24/17 and I haven’t been able to keep one thing down since surgery. Instantly started throwing up after trying first couple sips of room temp water and I’m dry heaving/throwing up after everything else I’ve tried. Today is my 2nd day in a row to ER thinking I might die. I’ve been admitting and am NPO until tomorrow morning. Anyone have any experience with this? Please tell me this will pass.
  6. TMI: I’m 3 days post op and things are super rough. I’m dry heaving and throwing up several times throughout the night! My vomit looks like it has bits of old blood in it. Is this normal?
  7. My surgery is scheduled for 11/20/17 and I’m sooo pumped. Only 4 more days!! I’ve been killing this pre op diet and I was feeling so ready, until I woke up this morning. My right jaw is slightly swollen due to swollen gums partially on top of a wisdom tooth. The right side of my throat also feels a bit sore. Could my tooth be infected? And if it is would I have to postpone surgery?? I hope not!
  8. That’s my surgery date too! Getting close!!
