    Pain on day 3

I can understand your pain....have you been walking? Increasing your activity slightly each day. That is the best thing to get rid of those gas pains. Some wouldn't believe it but those gas pains can feel worse than other types of pain! You'd never know that's the cause! Gas-ex doesn't help completely, but walking sure does! Good luck!

    Depression and Anxiety Post-Op

I have bipolar disorder and severe anxiety. While I'm too new post-surgery to give you advice, I will share one thing that my psychiatrist told me. She said that a lot of the cases that she sees where people have changes in moods, increased anxiety, depression, etc. are nutritionally based. She gave me suggestions of important vitamins/minerals and I combined this with what my surgeon suggested. I make sure and take everything everyday, along with my regular medication. So hopefully I won't have any problems. Something to try for you! Good luck to you!!

    Nervous about outpatient VSG!

I was outpatient too. I've had several laparoscopic procedures before and the gas pains are usually worse than any other pain!! Sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference. Walking is truly the best way to get rid of them, usually gone after 3 days or so with me. Take advantage of the care you're getting in the hospital! Feel better soon!

What couldn't you be without now?

I love Protein2o as well. My biggest suggestion (and I'm about a week post-surgery) is to do your research for the first few weeks--shakes, vitamins, etc. I tried different samples of shakes and protein options. I was on Pinterest forever reading all sorts of different ideas. Of course you'll have a ton of ideas, but you'll just have to go through all the information and suggestions from everyone and take the ones that you feel are best for you. After my research, I bought the shakes and drinks that I liked. Bought other things that I would be able to eat. So I had everything stocked and ready to go. I will add that I tried the Tespo machine that gives you the liquid shots of vitamins. I didn't care for it at all. I initially didn't think about the fact that you're only getting an allowance of 4 oz of liquid at a time, but you have multiple vitamins with the machine, which ended up being 6 oz or more. Just didn't seem worth it to me to take up my liquids with that.

    December Sleevers??

I know exactly what you mean! I was so thirsty this morning I had to remind myself to still take sips of water instead of chugging it!

    December Sleevers??

Thought I would jump in here too! Sleeved on 12/21, any surgery twins out there?! Family and friends are always a great support system but having someone who actually knows what the sleeve is like is great to have!
