Hi Newbie, I agree with Missy. I've been banded for years now and love roller coasters. I'm not exactly sure when I started back riding but I was banded in April and I'm sure I was back at Six Flags by summer. The important thing to remember is that Six Flags will be there. This time you need to "take it easy" is such a short time in the grand scheme of things. Be patient, take it slowly, and focus on healing.

Any Columbus area bandsters interested in starting a support group?:biggrin2:

How long between meals?
Godshelp replied to kuurtamo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes thirst is confused for hunger. Are you drinking 64oz or more a day? -
Doreen, I agree with Diana. You should definately talk to your doctor about this. I think I would actually call his/her nurse if the appointment is not in a couple of weeks. There is some type of problem that needs to be addressed whether it is your eating habits, fill level etc. Hang in there and stay encouraged.

You've done a great job. I have done about the same. I was banded April 8, 2008 and have gone from 274 to 187 since that time. I regained about 10 of those pounds and then stayed still for a while. I got a fill for the first time in a very long time and had to work really hard at finding the answers. Because of discomfort that did not go away I had to contact my doc over the weekend. He told me to go back to liquids for 4-5 days with us both not minding and sort of secretly hoping that I'll lose a BUNCH of weight during that time. I'm also back in the gym doing cardio and weight training If you lost 100 in a few months, I am sure you will do fantastic once again. Stay in touch and maybe we can motivate each other.

Welcome everyone. Willow and Plans thank you all for your help with the ticker. It's been over a year and I never had one. I was disappointed with my weight loss until I actually saw it in black and white on the ticker. I was very proud of my progress. Plans I was able to get three tickers. I don't need the third but let it stay so that you can see that the site will allow it in at least some cases. Everyone, have a great week!:tongue_smilie:

Hi everyone, I am well into my band journey but have returned tobeing not nearly active enough. I would like to join you all if you don't mind. Walking will be great for me. If I am welcomed, could one of you tell me how to make a ticker?
-
They have an on-line site where you can sign up for someone to contact you in your area. If you don't see it there. Just go into your local curves and ask for a free trial.

Hi everyone! Welcome Cindel! Congratulations to those of you who have broken or are near breaking your personal records and meeting you personal goals. Getting under 200 lbs must be great. I haven't seen it since my freshman year in college when I gained my "freshman 15 and two more other people's 15 lbs. I worked out four days last week. Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday (Curves Smart) It kicks my butt everytime. I used to brag that I don't sweat when I work out. Can't say that nonsense anymore. Walked during lunch at least one day, maybe two days. I feel good about my accomplishments. Ebony, you are doing great! You are on your way to a healthier/thinner you! Thanks to you all for being there.

I didn't have time to read everyone's posts since I went MIA (my battery on my laptop is dying). I hope everyone has been going strong or at least back on track. Though I have been gone, your wonderful words of support and encouragement were not wasted. You guys helped me so much. I decided to go back to Curves and do the Curve Smart program. It is wonderful! I lost 8 pounds since starting. Thanks you guys. I think I have found my stride and will try to post more often. Bless us all.

Would you do it again?
Godshelp replied to KikstersRT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Without a doubt! My only regret is trying to climb the stairs to my fourth floor office that fateful morning with heels on, injuring my knee which slowed down my exercise tremendously.:crying: Watch out for those heels!:scared2: -
I had something happen on the same level. I am from Georgia and had very good restriction prior to going on my trip to up state NY in January. My eating was in control prior to the trip but what I found was that I stayed full and barely ate anything the whole time I was there and no I was not trying to be cute:wink2:. It wasn't until about 3/4 days in that I realized I wasnt' eating. The only explanation I have is the difference in the temp. When I left GA is was probably 50+degrees and was only 11 degrees and even less when you factor the wind chill there. Not sure about the altitude there.

HeidiB You're right, the weight doesn't want to come off! If it did none of us would have the pleasure to get to know each other because none of us would be over weight. It's okay. We all get frustrated. You've lost a lot of weight since Sep. Your body is probably in protest right now trying to figure out what the heck is going on. Keep working and listen to EbonyRose, make sure you're eating enough and eating the right things. I think I got stuck because I wasn't eating enough. Go and get some Biotin for your hair. It's cheap and it's good. Thanks you guys for all the words of encouragement. It really does mean a lot. I actually feel better. Take care

I confess! I haven't worked out nearly as much as I should have since being banded. My bandaversary is coming up in just over a month, April 8th. My "year check up" is the 26 of Mar. I'm ashamed of my weight loss. I want to be under 200 lbs by my appt in three weeks. Right now, I am at 206 from 272. I need help. Hope posting here will help to motivate me. Thinking about going back to Curves now that they have their Smart Machines to help keep us working harder all the time (no plateaus). What do you guys think? Jillian Michaels says circuit training is key. Help!!!!!!!!! My exercise goal is to workout at least 5 days a week. circuit training Monday, Tuesday, Thrusday, and Friday rest on Wednesday and Sunday, and cardio on Saturday. It would be great if I could find the motivation to workout twice a day . Trying to find it here.

Feeling very disgusted with myself
Godshelp replied to weaver1461's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be discouraged! We all go through the discrepency between what we know and what we see with our wt loss. Our eyes lie to us particularly when they are tainted by our emotions and years of negative self-talk. Listen to your clothes! Keep the faith. Don't give up. -
Has anyone tried and/or found success with Jillian Michaels' workout or online program?
-
Jacqui, Thanks for the wisdom. Your success and tenacity are amazingly encouraging as is so many others on this site.

Update! After doing the workout DVD for three weeks and only about three days a week not the recommended 7 I lost 11 lbs. Thanks for the encouragement Rodriguezequal! I liked it so much, I bought another copy for a friend of mine.

I have Jillian Michael's 30 Shread. I love it as much as I love any exercise. It really is a great workout. There are three levels with variations in each. I have lost about 11 lbs in the thee weeks or so I have been using it and I haven't even been using it everyday like advised. A real friend and I are able to do the workout during lunch in my office with very limited room. Love it and her for being so supportive!
-
thanks for the information. My bestfriend gave me a copy of Jillian's 30 day Shread. Have you tried that particular one? Your current weight loss is exceptional as well. What have you been doing since the band? I really want to be down 30-45 in the next 90 days or so. I have been feeling more encouraged particularly if you are not pulling my leg about Jillian's workout. Do ou mind telling me what exactly you did to get the great results?
-
wow! Did you mean 30lbs in 2-3 weeks? How much did you weigh? Did you follow her meal plan? Are you planning to do follow the meal plan now that you are banded?

Nervous, banding scheduled for FEB 09
Godshelp replied to daningje's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it's perfectly normal to be nervous. I know I was! I went through with it and would do it all over again without a second thought. -
Hey Bellanova and anyone else interested. I found free workouts on the National Body Challenge site. There are sample workouts from Gilad, someone else and Drs. Oz and company. They are 20 min workouts and one each for beginners, intermediate, and advanced. I think they are perfect to do at work if you have an office. I'm going to find time to today. I was inspired yesterday by one of my church members who won the Weighdown competion for the state 2-3 years ago. He encouraged me to not give up on my goal to have lost 100 lbs by my band-aversary which is in April. I likely will not make it but if I fail to reach my goal, it will not be for lack of trying. I look at it this way, even if I don't make 100 lbs I will still have succeeded in getting "that" many more pounds off that will not return.

Yes I am. However, I must say that I don't have any real ideas about how we will accomplish this. With that said, I am open and ready to go.
