I've got my buuuuuuug! I've got my buuuuuuuuug!:wink2::laugh: Thankyou everyone who responded to my question regarding where you got your bugg. They were very helpful and comforting. I paid for it on Friday morning and have it today, Monday. I'm so excited! Can you tell? Welcome to all of the members. A special hello to Kevin (Sensewear). Thankyou for offering your help to us! Godbless all

Follow your doctor's advice. One of the last things you want is to get your incisions infected. Four weeks is not a long time. Better safe than sorry.

Call your doctor!!!!!!!!!

post-op gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Godshelp replied to willsmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're Banded!!!!!!! Yeaaaa. The best thing you can do for the gas is to move and move a lot. It will likely take days maybe even a week to get rid of the gas. The gas from the surgery is outside of your stomach so I doubt if an anti-gas medication will work on it. Not sure but walk, walk walk. That will definately work!!!! God bless! -
Georgia Girl, Where did you buy your bugg? Everyone else, Where did the rest of you buy your Buggs? Do you all think there are more problems with the ones that come from someone other than Apex or 24 hour Fitness directly. I'm asking because I just bought one on line, was very excited this morning but now I'm kind of scared. Always concerned about odering stuff on-line "ebay".

Godshelp replied to Eat2Live's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yea for you. That is WONDERFUL!!!!! -
Sorry about the trouble you're having GG. Please let us know how it turns out. I hope you get it figured out soon. I have the email address of a specific person at Apex that may be helpful to you her name is Christie Renick christie@apexfitness.com. I sent her an email a couple of days ago, at night and she had responded by the time I got to work the next morning. Maybe you can email her now.

Thanks for explaining that to me Friend!

JDUB0414, When was the last time you updated your weight? 2003 calorie deficit equals 2 pounds lost "theoretically" right? You are consistently under. Are you seeing the pounds drop as you deficit indicates they should. Any of you can answer this question. I'm still on the fence about my bug and still learning my band, adapting new fitness habits, and learning what I should reasonably expect to loose. GodsHelp

Renewedhope, I am soooo glad you found your Bugg. I don't have one but I sure know how much they cost and hated that you thought you'd lost yours. I was praying for you girl. You all sure do inspire me to get the Bodybugg. I have been trying to decide if I'm going to get it, the Actitrainer, or nothing.
-
Thanks for welcoming me. To answer your question coltorismom, it's 20 since being banded by my scale and 24 since I started the liquid diet two days prior to surgery. I guess it's an okay weight. At my two week check up I had lost 13 lbs and my surgeon told me, "work on your exercise". I started out at 268 the day prior to surgery. Do any of you have a Bodybugg or actitrainer?

My name is Monique. I am new to this thread. I was banded April 8 and doing great. So far I am down 20lbs, bless God. I am so excited to find this thread.

Help!!! How to obtain 5 year history of obesity
Godshelp replied to Coley21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may want to see if your insurance company will accept photos. I was told by my surgeon's office that BCBS of AL does. -
Most of you mentioned the importance of exercise which I am glad to see. However, what kind of exercise and how much have you all found to be effective in helping you shed 100 lbs in a year? My doctor recommended one our of walkinga day (no distance suggested). Just bought a Pilates machine that was the Today's Special Value Saturday which actually arrived today. Now I'm scared. I know I'm not physically ready to start traing because my surgery was on 8 Apr. It'll be waiting on me
-
Has anyone tried or considered getting involved in Pilates? I just order a pilates machined from QVC Saturday. It looked great and seemed to be everything I need to substitute for me not being able to get to the gym on a regular basis. Tell me what you all think!

I was banded on 8 Apr and have lost about 15 lbs since the day before surgery and 19 since starting the liquid diet two days prior to surgery. I am glad to find this thread because I wanted badly to know how I ranked with the wt loss especially after my surgeon told me to, "work on the exercise". I thought maybe I was failing particularly with the guilt I have for not walking a mile everyday. Apr Avengers ROCK!:w00t:

eureka2578, I agree with what was said above. Talk to your husband. Try not to isolate. That's not good for you. It increases the chances that you will turn to food and that will hurt you both emotionally and physically. You made the right decision for your health. I had to go to a baby shower at work about a week out (still on liquids). What I did and I think you should try is have a cup or bottle of something you can have and keep it in your hand sipping on it so that you don't miss that hand to mouth motion too much. Kids are truly resilant! They will be okay if they don't have friends over until you feel better and stronger. No your husband and children may not have had the surgery or asked for it but you all are a "family" and what effects one of you effects the rest. Wouldn't you take care of them? Take care of your self. :tongue_smilie:

Phyl808, What have you been doing to be able to loose 42 lbs in three months? I need the details!
-
What kind of emotional problems are you having?
-
I suppose you could go to your kitchen and lift using cans or jugs. You could also use books being held close to your chest while doing situps to add resistance. I have thought about ordering the latest firm videos that come with weights. Don't remember the cost.

Lingering discomfort in left side.
Godshelp replied to Cheryl Ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! Me right now. I'm about 11 days out and I still have that pain. Actually, I have allowed it to dictate how much walking I do being affraid that I might do harm. But I have been told to work up to the pain. I have my 2 week f/u on Wednesday and plan to discuss it with my surgeon. -
You know, there is a certain amount of "bringing your flesh under submission" in other words "just say no" that we must do. But we have to remember that sometimes we need help and by that I mean counseling to help deal with the food addictions so many of us have. The band does not cure that!
