Holy moly! Your doc would charge you 650 bucks for a fill?? What a rip off! I too despise Medicare. My hubby is disabled and it's a joke sometimes to get things paid for.

Awesome Justduckie! I haven't ridden a horse in years. They kinda scare me.... they are so huge they could just crush me like a bug! So I have an idea.... let's try and lose my 30 and your 20 pounds by Septemeber 13 together! We can support each other and keep each other accountable! I really need that! What do you think??

I tried halfheartedly to quit before surgery... it didn't happen. I am still smoking but hoping for some major stress to settle down in my life right now to give it up for good.

I have also found Advant Edge at any of our local grocery stores. Hope you can find some.... they are great! Isopure grosses me out. It's a weird consistancy for me and seeing the stringy stuff floating around in there if you don't shake it up good reminds me of Stifler drinking the beer off the nightstand in American Pie. Gross huh?? Hope I didn't ruin it for anyone......... LOL.

I haven't tried the bars..... I'll have to look for those!

I really like EAS Advant Edge Carb Control shakes. 100 calories, 15g of protein and 1 carb! The strawberry cream are my fave!

Here I am at eight weeks out and have lost 27 pounds of ugly fat forever!! I need to have DH take some new pics of me and I'll post some before and afters. For the first time in my life today I feel like I'm lookin' good! I noticed this morning while sitting at my desk that my belly dosen't stick out quite as far as it used to. I am wearing some khaki's that I haven't worn in forever and they fit okay in the waist but are billowing out from my butt and legs. I went to Lane Bryant this weekend to look for some new stuff and was pleased that in shirts I am between at 18/20 and 22/24! The 22/24 is too big and the 18/20 is a bit snug. What a problem to have! I used to wear a 3x or 24/26 top! Holy crap! I bought a fitted tshirt for the first time in my life.... I feel incredible in it! So my next little goal is to drop 30 more pounds by September 13.... just in time to see Dave Matthews Band! That gives me 11 weeks.... totally doable I think. I am considering doing the induction phase of South Beach for a few weeks to get myself going. My DH is finally out of the hospital (was in for 5 weeks) so now I can take some time for myself in the evenings to go to the rec center and get some excercise in. He got me an iPod for my bday last week and I'm itchin' to use it. Soooo... that's the plan. What do you think??

I had a last supper of gyros the night before I had surgery and I had NO gas whatsoever after I was banded. Maybe I'm a freak? LOL!

I take a few medications daily and just swallow them like normal... never had any problem. I just make sure I drink a lot of water with them and I'm good! My biggest pill is half the size of the lid of a tube of chapstick and the 2 others are tiny so maybe that's why?

When I had my breast reduction 4 years ago I had this problem. Turns out I am allergic to Vicryl (the stitching material) and was "spitting the stiches" out. I had a lot of problems from this including infection and some bad scarring. The first thing I did when I met with my doc was make sure he didn't use Vicryl on me! Good luck to you!

I am 7 weeks out and have had 2 fills. The first at 4 weeks 1cc and the second at 7 weeks .5cc. I am self pay and my fills are free for 3 months then $15 after that.

McD's has a chicken club sandwich that is great... get it grilled and don't eat the bun and your good to go! I also like salads from BK and Wendy's. Taco Bell pinto's and cheese is good also. Subway wraps scare me.... those tortilla things are not food....they are all sticky and slimy. Gross! Can you tell I eat lunch out a lot? LOL!

Amy.... I always call the plus size section in stores the fat girls sizes. It still makes my hubby cringe! I agree that the term "morbidly obese" is horrible but so is killing myself with my over eating. It took words like that to make me wake up and realize I have a problem.

I ate Breakfast before both of my fills. My doc said it wasn't a problem. Might want to check with your doctor though.... they all seem to have their own way they like to do things. Good luck!

Forgot to tell you my awesome news I got yesterday when I saw my doc! When I had him do my band our agreement was a set price that included surgery and all that it entailed and 3 months of follow up and fills. After that fills would be $100. Much cheaper than any other doc in my area. Yesterday when I was in he told me he had rethunk that and decided that the most important thing for him was to make sure his patients recieved proper follow up care and fills as needed without creating a financial hardship for them. He decided to charge us just $15 for fills now! He said that will cover the cost of his supplies and that was all he needed! I really feel like he truley cares about his patients and their success. I couldn't be happier with my choice of surgeons! On another note.... today is my bday... 31! Yikes! I got a great gift when I stepped on the scale and it said 253!!
