Happy August everyone! Can you beileve we are in the 8th month of the year already? I am at exactly 3 months out today and am going in for my third fill this afternoon. Pray for perfect restriction for me! I hope everyone is doing well and working hards toward thier goals. Thanks for always being there for me! Peace.

My port is pretty deep as well since I have alot of belly fat. My first fill took 2 tries to find the port and was 1cc. The second fill also took two tries and was .5 cc. I have a total of 1.5cc's in a 4-5cc band. I haven't been to any support group meetings (other than what I get here.) I always say i'm going to make it to Dr K's monthly meeting and something always comes up. I would really like to go sometime!

Home same day or overnight in hospital?
DrewsLou replied to GE Mom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my surgery at 9am and was home by 2pm the same day! -
Dr Kirshenbaum in Aurora here on May 1. I'm sorry you have had to go through so much with your band already. Hopefully now you are on the right path. I am going for my third fill tomorrow and can't wait. I don't think I have ever had proper restriction but I am afraid of being overfilled so I am just going slow, my doc agrees with that philosophy as well. It's nice to see someone from my neck of the woods on here!

3loves... I have the Nano 2GB. it holds 500 songs. I have it about half full right now. I bought a dock for my desk at work with speakers and I love it! I got it at Wal-Mart for 45 bucks. My next thing to get will have to be the car adapter. I don't know how I survived without it an iPod!

Once Banded, How Much Weight Did You Lose In The First 2 Months?
DrewsLou replied to ItsGottaGo!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am just under 3 months out and have lost a total of 36 pounds. It has slowed down quite a bit the past few weeks so I am going in for my third fill next week. -
Here I am checking in for the Challenge. I weighed in this morning at 244. I only lost 1 freakin' pound this week! I am going in for my third fill next Tuesday... let's hope it's "the one!" My clothes are all starting to fit a lot differently. I am down to a size 20 in pants and a size 1x in tops. I was in a tight 22 pants and a 3x top a mere 3 months ago so I'm definatley seeing progress. Buying a pair of jeans at Old Navy has got to be one of my best NSV's so far. My wedding ring is looser, I can take it off at night now. My shoes are looser. I fit into chairs better. I am up to a 20 minute mile with a 5% incline on the treadmill. I have been circuit training as well the past 3 weeks. I am getting to the gym at least twice a week, usually 3 times. I am drinking Water like a fiend, usually 100oz a day or so. I guess when I look at all of this the 1 pound loss isn't so bad, I am getting much healthier overall. Sparkpeople.com has been a lifesaver in helping me track my progress. Peace!

Fit Day or Spark People
DrewsLou replied to *susan*'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I tried Fitday for about a week and got so frustrated with it I stopped using it. I had to enter everything I ate as cutom foods and that got old fast. I heard about sparkpeople from someone on here and have been using it ever since. I love it! I love that it helps me track my nutrition goals AND my fitness. I opted for no emails when I signed up and in 2 weeks I have one recieved 2 emails, one to welcome me and one reply to a post I made. I can't say enough good things about spark and have recommened it to all my friends! -
I made an appointment for a third fill for next Tuesday. My weight loss has seemed to slow down a bit and I notice I have a lot more hunger and I am eating more at a sitting so I guess it's time! I saw 243 Saturday morning but am back up at 245 this morning. Its so frustrating to fluctuate like that! Anyone else have that problem? I am currently shopping for a new car so that has taken some energy away from scale obsession!

I personally like Social Distortion to work out to, especially on the treadmill or ellipitical. They have an awesome beat. Keeps me going and sweating!

Happy Thursday ladies!! It's September Challenge check in day so here I go! My weight today is 245....245!! I lost 3 pounds this week! I have only been to the gym once so far, my dad is in town for the next couple of days so I'm hoping to get in late tommorow night or at least sometime Saturday. That will only give me 2 workouts for the week but it's better than nothing I guess! I joined www.sparkpeople.com and it is awesome! I am able to track my calories and protein as well as my fitness. You should all go check it out... it is a great tool. It gives you goals and calorie ranges to meet your weight loss goal. It even tell you how many calories you need to burn excercising per week! According to them I need to burn 850 a week and I already burned 550 with my Tuesday workout so I should be able to sqeak by with only 2 for the week. I highly recommend it. Come out come out where ever you are and check in with us!! Peace.

I am a big fan of EAS Advant Edge Carb Control shakes. 100 calories and 15g of protein. I tried a bunch of other ones and they tasted too weird to me. Kudos to those that can drink Isopure.... the consistancy of that stuff grosses me out, but it does have awesome protein!
