Try using a heating pad on your belly. That really helped me! Good luck and welcome to bandland!

Hey all... I am cleaning out my closet this weekend and have a bunch of stuff to get rid of and thought I woul ask if anyone wants/needs anything. I have a bunch of Tommy Hilfiger stuff in sizes 24, 22 and shirts in 3x. I would much rather ship it to someone here than just drop it off at a thrift store. PM me if your interested!

Anyone know anything about any surgeons in Denver? I had a consult with Dr. Kirshenbaum and really liked him. Has anyone used him or know anyone that has? Thanks!

Hey all.... Just checking in for the September Challenge. I am down 2 more pounds this week... that brings me to a total of 13 pounds lost since the challenge began. To reach my goal of 222 I still need to lose 17 pounds in 5 weeks! Ack! That's just over 3 pounds a week, dunno if that's gonna happen but I'll keep truckin' along! Peace.

Does anyone have a scale addiction?
DrewsLou replied to Kirsten117's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm glad I'm not the only one! I weight first thing in the morning right after I pee then again when I get home to see where I'm at (usually fluctuates by as much as 5 pounds!) then before I go to bed or when I get home from the gym. My husband laughs at me about it all the time. It's so exciting to see those numbers going down though! -
Funny Linda... I was just thinking I need to take some new pics for comparision. Maybe I'll have my hottie hubby take some tonight! Let's see the rest of you!

Hi all! Just wanted to share a quick NSV I had this past weekend. I finally got to go check out Torrid, a store for plus sizes. www.torrid.com if you don't have a store in your area.... anyway.... it was awesome! Exactly my style of stuff and great prices. Before surgery I was in a tight size 22.... last clothes I bought were size 20's (at Old Navy)... I fit into size 18 Dickie pants at Torrid!! Sweet! I even bought a mini skirt! It felt so good to not have to hope and pray they would have my size that I could squeeze my fat ass into. This weekend I saw my mom for the first time in a month and she couldn't say enough good things about how I look. In fact I got more compliments from people the past few days than ever! I guess finally hitting the 40lb mark has really made a difference. I cut my hair into a totally different style last week and between that and the weight loss my SIL didn't even recognize me when my hubby and I walked up to them at the fair. I will post new pics soon! Have a fab day! Peace.

I watched the new season last night and loved it! I have watche dthe past 3 and this so far is my fave. I liked everyone in the cast... they all seem pretty down to earth and commited to losing weight and getting healthier. Tina Yothers is a hottie with dark hair! My hubby couldn't get over it. The guy from the Sopranos is such a sweetie! I too am glad Carnie Wilson is on there.... people think that bypass is such a quick fix and that's it, it is nice to see the reality of it is much different. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season!

Keep your head up Pelo! Your in my thoughts girl! :biggrin1: -
Hola Chicas! Here I am checking in for my weekly weigh in. Suprisingly I have actually lost 2 pounds this week! It's a freakin' miracle after the week I've had. Some of you may have read my other thread about a possible band leak...but for those who haven't lemme catch you up. I went in for my third fill on Tuesday and the doc couldn't aspirate my previuos fill back into the syringe. My band was empty. This also happened when I got my second fill but we figured it was just a fluke. Now it looks like there might be a leak somewhere. I have my doc trying to figure out how to get flouro covered under my insurance so we can check it out. Until then I am just planning to go back on the 29th for another fill. It sucks but at least I know it's just saline and it wont hurt me if it's leaking! I did pay a lot of money for this damn band though and I want it to work to its potential! I will keep everyone posted as I go ! I hope everyone is doing well! I hope we are all big fat losers! Well maybe not fat...LOL... you get the idea. Peace out!

You'll be a great troop leader Nana!

I was a GS for 15 years and am apalled at these leaders and their small-mnded views!! When I was a member there was never any religous affiliation (that I was aware of) and it was a very open and inviting atmosphere for all the girls. GS is about loving yourself and expanding your horizons not segregating yourself from the rest of the world. I say go for it! It will be an experience you and your daughter will never forget. Some of my greatest childhood memories are the time I spent with my mom in GS!

LOL Carlene... I'm glad I'm not the only one that read that that way!

I went for my third fill yesterday and my doctor was unable to aspirate anything out of my band. There should have been 1.5cc in there. I had my fisrt fill of 1cc in May and the same thing happened when I got my second fill in June, nothing there. My doc says my band may be leaking but he has no idea where. He said I could have a flouro to try and determine where it is leaking and go from there or I could just keep coming back monthly for fills. He put 1.9cc's in there yesterday and I feel ZERO restriction now. What would your recommendations be? Thanks!
-
This was the second time there was nothing back in the syringe. I made an appointment for August 29th. I am actually feeling some restriction this morning so I guess I'll see how it goes. I'm pretty bummed that there could be a problem though!

I have several cysts on my ovaries. One burst a few years ago and I even had to have surgery. The worst pain I have ever felt in my life!
-
So I went in for my third fill today. The doc couldn't aspirate anything back into the syringe! My band was empty! This happened with my first fill of 1cc also. My last fill on June 19 was 1.5cc's and now that's just gone? WTF? The doc told me I might have a leaky band. What the hell am I supposed to do now? The doc said that we could go ahead full bore and do a flouro and stuff and see if he can see where it's leaking and whatnot or I could just come in monthly and get filled. I don't know what to do. I am exactly 3 months out today and am self pay and my covered after care ended today! How's that for friggin timing?? Any advice/ideas?? Peace.
-
I just got done eating dinner and had two stuffed shells, a meatball and part of a sausage and feel no restriction whatsoever. I guess I will be calling the doc tomorrow to explore my options!
-
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
-
I had 3 months of totally covered aftercare and fills. I have access to the nutritionist forever and after the 3 months my fills are only $15! I had surgery in Denver CO.
