In no way does answering the OP question give anyone free rein to get nasty. There is just no reason for it. If you feel the need to get into dirty details of what you perceive happened take it to PM.... no reason for this to go on like it has. Threads like this are what turn a lot of people off and make them afraid to post what they really think because they will be attacked. There are always going to be people who don't get along... that's just life. It's what we do with that that makes us better people or just fall into the pit of filth that we profess to hate.

I don't think 3Loves was out of line at all. After all isn't everyone entitled to their own opinion? The thread crossed the lines of civilty a long time ago. I said this before and I'll say it again... it's really unfair to attack someone who isn't even here to defend themself. Let it go and get on with your day. Peace.

Thanks Mandy! I have been hopping arounf with flip flops on when I have to wear shoes and trying to go without as much as possible. It was really swollen this weekend so I have just been trying to keep it elevated.Too bad they won't let me go barefoot at work! I can't believe how bad getting the top of my foot tattoo'd hurt! Ouch!

Wow. This really seems to be a passionate subject. I think the original poster was just asking where DeLarla has gone not asking everyone to rehash everything that happened in the past. It's not really fair to talk about someone when they can't defend themselves. We are all here for the same reason.... support. I hope we can all remember that and not let this spin out of control as I have seen threads do in the past. Peace.

Donna... DH and I have been researching for well over a year adopting through foster care. These are kids who have been TPR'd from their parents and most have at the very least some emotional problems. The biggest peice of advice that I have learned is to set boundaries with the birthfamily. YOU will be the parent if you decide to adopt this child not them. Once TPR happens they have no say in how you raise YOUR child. It might be challenging as the birthgrandparents are friends of yours but you will need to set firm ground rules with them before (and if) you move forward with this. As far as some of the other things I have read in this thread there are some common misconceptions about adoption. If you decide to move and the child has legally been adopted by you the birthfamily has no say in where you go and where you live. Kidnapping happens rarely... mostly just in Lifetime movies. You will be as "real" a parent as the birth parents are. Adopted children are born in your heart instead of your body, that dosen't make you any less of a parent. I hope you find peace with whatever decision you and your DH decide to make. Follow your heart!

I agree... I miss DeLarla too! I enjoyed her always telling it how it is and having the guts to say what a lot of us were thinking. It's one of the things I loved about LBT when I first joined to see that we don't always have to agree with each other or even like each other for things to work out... much like life I think. I think her honesty was very refreshing in a world of BS, she is not perfect and never claimed to be. I wish she would come back but I honestly don't see it happening.

Here's a pic of my new tattoo I got last week. My foot was still pretty swollen and the pic was taken with my camera phone so not the best but here ya go!

I got a new tat last night. It's on the top of my left foot, a safe place I figured for my weight loss journey. It's so beautiful! I love it. I will try and post a pic this weekend if anyone is interested.

Very thoughtful gifts Carlene, I really appreciate it!

SHe sent me some note cards, a journal, an incense set and a pretty wire basket. Hard to explain... you will have to wait for the pics! :heh:

Just to clarify my earlier post.... I don't think there is anything wrong with little girls playing dress up. The problem that I have is the parents who make them up like 25 year old complete with low cut tops and heels. I saw a documentary (can't remember what channel) a few years ago about kiddie beauty pagents and some parents were putting stuffed bras on 5 year olds! I think that's just sick. I in no way shape or form think that little JonBenet deserved to die because of how her mommy portrayed her to the world. I think the whole thing is just so sad.... it makes my heart hurt to think of what that poor little thing went through.

I have lost 44 pounds now and people are just now starting to comment. It feels wonderful!! MY SIL actually said she didn't recognize me walking up to her with my DH at the fair a few weeks ago! WooHooo!

Living in Colorado near Boulder, this case has been on the news for YEARS. I wish I could buy into this guys story and tie the whole case up with a little bow but there are too many little things that don't add up. I hope they solve this case fully someday. It makes me sick to see pics of little JonBenet all dressed up in the makeup and hair. Talk about sexuallizing our children! Disgusting!

How long after surgery before returning to work?
DrewsLou replied to cl_tx_42's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on a Tuesday and went back to work that following Monday with no problems. -
Good Morning! I am checking in for the September Challenge... I am down 3 pounds this week! That gives me a total loss for the challenge of 16.5 pounds! I am now wearing a comfortable size 20... some things are getting a bit big though. I have been faithfully going to the gym 3 times a week and do just over 2 miles (45 minutes) on the treadmill on a hill program. I can't believe what a difference walking on an incline is! It's awesome! My legs are pretty sore today from my workout last night but it's a good kinda hurt. I am going to get a tattoo tonight! It will be cherry blossoms on the top of my left foot. I was going to wait until I reached 50lbs lost (my first goal) but my SIL decided she wanted to get one too and we are making a girls night out of it. So we will go have dinner then get tats. I am excited! I will get some new pics taken this weekend and get those posted. I want to see all your faces and your progress! Let's see some pics people! Have a good one! Peace.

A friend sent me this link today and I found it very informative. Wish I had seen it before surgery to understand it all more. Hope everyone finds it helpful. http://thinforlife.med.nyu.edu/assets/REN%202.pdf?RCD=J53039&NAME=Christine_J._Ren Peace.

I can feel a slight "pop" when the needle accesses my port. Freaked me right out the first time!

I am actually getting a new tat on Thursday on the top of my left foot. I figure that's a safe place. Once I lose some more I want a nautical star on my right calf. I think you just have to really think about where you want it and what might stretch or sag. Good luck! Peace.

Your getting good advice here K@t! Just wanted to give you *hugs*!!
