Should I join roller derby??
DrewsLou replied to DrewsLou's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well I got my butt out to the skating rink today and I did pretty good! Not bad for not being on skates in 10 years! I sure am sore tonight though. I got an email tonight about try outs. Jan 25th is coming up fast. I can't wait!! -
Come on out to Colorado! We have plenty of snow to go around!

Fugazi, Nine Inch Nails, Prodigy, Justin Timberlake, Social D, Supersuckers, Shiny Toy Guns.... just a few that are on my iPod. Anything with a good beat get's me going!

Mark myself before surgery?
DrewsLou replied to girlinnyc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would discuss this with your doc BEFORE surgery! -

I have 6 HUGE bags full of clothes I need to get rid of. Sizes 20 and 22 mostly. One whole bag is all Tommy Hilfiger. I would love to pass it on to someone from LBT!

LOL... I just had to explain the term "Sick Girl" on my other board. They thought the name sounded fragile and weak. Quite the contrary! -

WOW!! Thanks for the great response everyone!! It means a lot to me to have someplace like this to come and bounce ideas off of you all! As for my name... I'm thinking "Sick Girl". I am a HUGE Social D fan and it comes from them. I am open to other suggestions though! I sent an email to Denver Roller Dolls last night asking for more info for try-outs and to see what exactly they are looking for. I think try outs are 4 weeks from today. I plan on hitting the gym hard in those 4 weeks (I started back last night) Thanks again! -

As I was cleaning out my closet this weekend I came across what used to be my fave jeans. These are a size 22 and used to be pretty tight on me. Look at me now!

Here we are in December already! I don't know about you but 7 months into this crazy journey has been amazing for me. I have offically lost 53 pounds since I was banded, actually down 63 pounds from my heaviest weight of 290. YIKES! I am fitting comfortably into size 18 pants, from the misses section! I have been shopping in the little tiny fat girls section for so long that I didn't realize how much stores have to offer normal sized people! I was at Kohl's on Monday with a girlfriend and I wandered through the entire Misses section and it just went on and on and on. I was shocked! My MIL has lost quite a bit of weight since I was banded (hubby says I inspired her to get healthier, yay!) and we were discussing last week how scary and overwhelming it is to have so many choices in clothes. When your world is small, like the "womens" section, it gets comfortable, but when you have to venture out of that box it sure is scary! Can't quite get my head around that one yet. I need to get to Old Navy this weekend and get a couple of pairs of new jeans to get me through for awhile. My too big jeans are just ridiculous looking on me now. I am looking forward to the holidays and spending time with family and friends. I won't be embarassed to have my picture taken this year! I will get some new pics posted next weekend! Happy December everyone!

Well here I am in CO.... and we are in the middle of a blizzard. I have probably 2 feet of snow in my driveway and some of the drifts are at least 4 or 5 feet deep. No way am I making it anywhere tomorrow. They sent us home from work today at about noon and my normal 20 minute commute took me an hour and a half! It was like night of the living dead out there. You could go for miles and not see another car then suddenly come around a turn and see cars stranded, stuck in feet of snow. This is the craziest storm we have had in years!! I came home and made a big pot of chili... the best on a day like this! This evening I had the BRILLIANT idea of taking my hubbys car out to the road to check the mail. Needless to say, his car is stuck in our field. The snow was so deep I tried to back up and go back to the garage in my tire tracks... no such luck. So there I was, in a tshirt, jammie pants and my slippers, stuck about 100 yards away from my house. I tried to open the car door and the snow was so deep it wouldn't budge. I pushed and pushed and finally got it open enough to get out. I stepped out of the car and immediatly sunk up to my knees (keep in mind I am wearing SLIPPERS and no socks) I made a running beeline for my tire tracks and ran back into the garage, running out of my slippers all along the way. I got back in the house and told my hubby what happened (apologizing profusley) and he just laughed hysterically at me. I guess it was pretty funny looking back on it now. I sure wish I hadn't done it though! Guess I'll be spending my day off tomorrow digging his car out. Fun times! Just had to share! :help:

Wow lala! You have the most restrictive post-op diet I think I have read here on LBT! I don't know that I could hang in there with that! Good luck to you carb-hatin' girls! :clap2:

Here I am! We got about 10 more inches on Thursday and Friday. Hubby and I got out okay yesterday and did some shopping and stuff. The roads are fine if you can get out of your driveway. Crazy stuff! We NEVER get this much snow! I am off to the Broncos game this afternoon... hopefully I don't freeze since I have lost so much of my insulation!

Thanks so much Cat804!! I got a wonderful fuzzy blanket and some super cute socks. I put the blankie on my bed tonight and it so warm and toasty! Thanks again!

Be sure your Surgeon is QUALIFIED!

My surgery was not in a hospital. It was in a surgical center. It's pretty common! -
Biggest protein bang for the buck
DrewsLou replied to mariecarmen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't stress too much about my diet. I have had good luck with my loss so far and my hair hasn't fallen out so I'm pretty happy about that. Here's a typical day menu for me: Breakfast 1 packet of instant oatmeal Bottle of Water Starbucks mocha light frapaccino lunch 3oz packet of tuna with a bit of mayo and sweet relish Bottle of water Snack Goldfish crackers dinner Casserole or something like that, about 1/2 cup or so Bottle of water Since my last fill I probably only take in 1200 calories or so a day. I very rarely drink a Protein shake, and only if I can't get anything down in the AM. -
New here... young male and my story.
