There is no smoking in any bar or restaurant in CO. This was passed last year and has made dining out much more pleasant! I recommend Wynkoop, Rock Bottom Brewery (16th St Mall) and a host of other places like that. All are family friendly as most of Dever area places are. If you go to Rock Bottom they have an AWESOME french onion Soup that I had when I was on liquids after surgery. Just take the cheese and bread out and don't eat the onions and you'll be fine! If there is specific kind of food you have in mine PM me and I'll see what i can come up with for you!

I also belonged to Curves... for about a month. I got bored with the machines and the women that just went there to gossip. I have since joined a gym and have been at it since last June and LOVE it!!

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
DrewsLou replied to Shesha's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
YAY Sky! I'm sooo happy for you. I remember how it real it finally felt when I got my date booked. I'm so excited for you! -
Hey May peeps!! I am a bit discouraged. I haven't lost any weight this week. I keep bouncing around the same few pounds. I had my TOM this week though so maybe that has something to do with it? I started a new workout program and with as hard as I have been working at it I was expecting to lose SOMETHING but nope....nada. I have try outs for the roller dolls next week and I know once I start doing that I will get back on the losing side again with all the work outs they do. But in the meantime.....grrrrrr!! kim.... yay for the Gap outfit!! I am sitting here in my Old Navy jeans and loving every second of it! marz.... get yourself a new outfit girl! You deserve it! Congrats on onederland! Peace.

julestwu.... no, that is what my surgeon charges his self pay patients. My insurance didn't cover any part of my band.

demsvmejm... I just copied and pasted that info on smoking to my hubby. I quit smoking on Jan 1 and he quit today!

I am self pay and my fills are $15 each.

I am really disapointed in Idol so far this year. I think it has been awful the past 2 nights! Simon is just a total jerk to everyone and there has been soooo little talent to come through the auditions so far. I think I will just wait and start watching again once they get to Hollywood. It sucks though... this is usually my fave part!

Hey kym... if you don't mind me asking... how much is Dr Allen charging for fills now? last I heard I think it was around $300... is that right? Thanks!

No Wheets... Aurora Colorado.

I had a bit of a different experience with hunger. I was banded on a Tuesday and by Friday was so hungry that I called my doc and he let me start mushies. I got my first fill at 4 weeks and that helped me a lot. I ahve since had 4 fills and have lost 62 pounds but still get hungry. It comes on fast and I have to eat NOW when I feel it. Good thing though.... it doesn't take much to fill me up and I stay full for 3 hours or so! Good luck to you!

Congrats Crishell! Post when you can and let us know how you are doing! Welcome to bandland!

I recommend the taco salad since you have to buy SOMETHING to get in. Just don't eat the shell and you'll be fine! There are so many cool hings to do in Denver! I agree with Angie... go to the 16th street mall downtown. I love it... we go down there a couple of times a month. Great food and there are some good bars to go to and listen to live music (if that's your thing!).

I have sooooo many plans for more tat's! Hubby and I are going to get matching sparrow tats for our anniversary next year. I also want a nautical star and some cherries. I want to be skinny before I get any more though, I want to be able to show them off! Here's my tat I got this summer on my foot: Neal.... I dunno about a lap band tat. For me I think I would choose something different to commerate my weight loss but I would be interested in seeing what you come up with!

Ay carumba! Casa Bonita was one of my fave places as a kid.... but as an adult... yikes! We went a couple of months ago for my nephews bday. It's still the same old place, building is cool as hell and they have cliff divers. The food... yuck!!!! It's just plain terrible. EXCEPT for the wonderful little sopapillas they serve by the truck load. (which of course are for sure on your pre-op diet) :heh: Here's the link: http://www.casabonitadenver.com/ Sorry if I disappointed you.

My doc in Denver offers an alternative to Mexico. His price is $9950. Here's the link to his website... http://lapbandrockies.com/

Prices of Lap Band Surgery
DrewsLou replied to Lindalew's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I couldn't agree more with this statement. It is your health and your body that your talking about. The band is a life long thing and you need to find a surgeon you feel comfortable with and confident in his (or her) abilities. You will have a long term relationship with this person! -
Prices of Lap Band Surgery
DrewsLou replied to Lindalew's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc in Denver does the surgery for $9950.00 which includes 3 months of follow up. After that fills are only $15! I have been banded 8 months now and have had 4 fills total. -
I have a decent sized tat on top of my foot that I got last summer.... it hurt like a bitch!!! Never have I felt anything like that!

Not All Drs. Signed Up with Capital One!!!
DrewsLou replied to sunnysea's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is frustrating sunny! I did hear someone once before say that Dr K did not work with Capitol One. Do you have any other options? -
I think you are noticing a lot lately because a bunch of old threads and polls are being bumped. The accounts that were suspended were suspended in September of last year. Nothing current.

OMG.... you won't believe this.... I actually RAN on the treadmill last night! I started at about 3.5mph at a 4% incline for a couple of minutes then went up to 4.6 for a minute. I did this 7 or 8 times. I actually ran for 8 minutes!! Holy crap! The only drawback.... I sure have a lotta stuff that jiggles when I run...

hi i am new here just found this site.
DrewsLou replied to mistiful2001's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi mistiful! My best advice to you would to be to find a local fill doctor BEFORE you surgery unless you plan on traveling back to MX every time you need a fill or unfill. So many times I see people posting in desperate need of a fill doctor AFTER they have surgery. Get all your ducks in a row and everything will go much smoother for you. Good luck to you and don't be shy to ask questions.... we were all newbies here once! Peace. -

I'm glad you liked the clothes! It's always nice to pass things on to someone you know. It was awesome meeting you... and your sister! We will have to get together every time you come out! Sitting on the runway must have sucked. What a lovely frigid weekend for you to come to CO! marjon9... good luck to you! Post soon and let us know how you are doing! -

Wow! Three months? I had my first fill at 4 weeks and was dying for it! Hang in there!
