Hmmmm... according to the news here this morning they said 70 tomorrow and 65 on Thursday with a chance of sprinkles. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! -
I had a leak in my tubing that wasn't immediatley apparent under flouro. We waited for a good 30 minutes and finally saw it oozing. I wonder how they can possibly say that you DO NOT have a leak and you are consistantly losing your fills?? That just doesn't make sense. I had my tubing and port replaced in November and it was a pretty easy procedure, took about 15 minutes in the OR! Good luck to you and keep us posted! Feel free to PM me if I can help!

6 weeks post op you should be fine to do yoga!! I would ask your doc to be sure though. Have fun!

Not to be blunt but DUH! My point was that it is much more difficult to get good info on surgeons in MX than it is to get the same info on docs here in the states as they are not regulated by the same agencies that US docs are. I'm not saying US is better than MX. For me personally I feel very lucky that I had the option of having surgery 20 miles from my home. I realize not everyone has that luxury.

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

It's set up in a big dining room. The salads are served buffet style but the waiters come to your table with the meats and stuff. I don't remember the exact prices... it was 5 years ago when we went. I think it was 20 bucks a person or so. You can call them and ask! -

Nope. We don't have another bout until 4/20. -
I was banded by the doc in question in Denver... so that is my vote. He has been wonderful to me and totally took care of my when I had a complication. His price includes fills for 3 months and then after 3 months fills are only 15 bucks. I think once you add in airfare getting to Mexico for surgery and fills it becomes a wash financially. PM me if I can answer any questions about Dr K! I don't want to turn this into a Mexico vs US debate but from what I have read here on LBT choose your MX doc very carefully. Some have had great luck going south of the border others not so much. Good luck to you! :biggrin1:

Half-Ton Man Ventures Out After Five Years By OLGA R. RODRIGUEZ AP SAN NICOLAS DE LOS GARZA, Mexico (March 8) - A man who once weighed well over a half ton left his house for the first time in five years Wednesday - wheeled outside on his bed to greet neighbors and see a mariachi band. "The sky is beautiful and blue and what I want is to enjoy the sun," said Manuel Uribe, who had once been certified by doctors as weighing 1,235 pounds. Though still unable to leave his bed, Uribe has lost 395 pounds since he began a high-Protein diet a year ago. He now weights about 840 pounds. To Celebrate the milestone, six people pushed Uribe's wheel-equipped Iron bed out to the street as a mariachi band played and a crowd gathered. Then, a forklift lifted him onto a truck and the 41-year-old rode through the streets of San Nicolas de los Garza, a Monterrey suburb. With dozens of reporters and photographers in tow, Uribe traveled along, passing the town's plaza and church and waving at clusters of people eager to get a glimpse of him. "It fills me with joy to see he's getting better and getting a little sun," Uribe's neighbor Guadalupe Guerra said. "I would go crazy if I had to be inside my house for so many years." as an adolescent. In 1992, he said his weight began ballooning further. Since the summer of 2002, Uribe has been bedridden, relying on his mother and friends to feed and clean him. He drew worldwide attention when he pleaded for help on national television in January 2006. Afterward, an Italian and a Spanish doctor both visited and offered gastric bypass surgery. But Uribe chose to accept help from Mexican nutritionists working with the Zone diet. He says he will stick to that diet until he reaches his goal of 265 pounds. "My goal is to leave the house on my own but I know that will be a long process," he said. Doctors say it may take between three and four years for Uribe to reach his goal. Uribe said he plans to start a foundation to help overweight people get medical assistance and teach them about healthy eating habits.

If cost is the only reason for choosing Mexico there is an alternative. My doc in Denver CO, Gerald Kirshenbaum, does the band for self pay patients for $9950.00. He has done thousands of laproscopic surgeries over the years and started doing bands a few years ago. I have been very happy with him and know of several other bandsters here on LBT that have had their bands done by him. http://www.lapbandrockies.com/ I would be happy to answer any questions you have about him! -

Shrimp was my friend up until my last fill. I had my first PB in the Chili's parking lot after eating their grilled tequila shrimp. NEVER AGAIN!
