Just got my call my surgery was moved from 3pm to 7am....thank God I did not want to sit around all day and think about it.

Thanks for the info Lori! I will ask my doctor about that. I am self pay so the process has been very quick. I'm sure that at the hospital they will have someone talk to me, but as of now I have not talked to a dietician. How does that Isopure taste? I am still waiting to hear from the hospital about times...I hope they didn't forget about me..lol

I'm taking off only 4 days...my boyfriend owns a bar that I do the lunchtime shift at so I figured it would be good to do the walking. I hope I love my band as much as you do Donna! 1 more day!!!!!!

Very very anxious,nervous,excited,relived...oh the list could go on and on. I am just excited for it to be over and to start my new life. I finally feel like this is something that is going to change my life. I have been overweight my entire life, trying every diet known to man and failing every single one. This time I just feel like it is going to be different. I know it is still going to be a challenge and at times hard, but I think this is what is going to work. I wish you all the best, please keep me informed.

Well 1 more day and our lives will be changed forever. It's hard to even imagine. Two more days!!! How are you two doing? I go in waves of nerves but still very excited. I'm in Detroit and live about 1 mile from the hospital so fortunately I don't have far to go.

I am also being banded on the 30th. Very excited and nervous at the same time. where are the 2 of you being banded?

I just found this thread!! I am being banded on the 30th of april. Just like everyone has stated I am pretty nervous about the surgery, not really about the band. It feels good to have a group of people going through the same thing at the same time. Congratulations to everyone that has been banded it must feel very good to be starting your new life!! Good luck to those still to be banded, may we have the strength not to freak out and go running from the hospital (which is kind of what I have imagined myself doing). You are all in my prayers!!

Hey Mama! I have always had problems with constipation, I would go days without going. Not that you want to know that, but I started taking a probiotic pill about 2 months ago and let me tell you that is a magic pill. It is the same thing that is in the activa yogurt. I am not being banded till wednesday the 30th so I'm not sure if you can take it right after. It is worth the chance to ask your doctor though. The pill is a very tiny,tiny so I don't see that it would be a problem getting it down. But ask your doctor to be on the safe side. I found them at whole foods and it is their brand about 25.00 for a 3 month supply. Like I said I don't think I could live without them. Let me know what happens.

Hello Yolanda, I have on this site for about 3 months. That is when I first starting thinking about getting the lap band. I go next wednesday to have mine done. Yes it is kind of scary but I know that this is what I need to do for me. This is a great place to help with this decision. The people here are so nice and very informative, they will tell you the good the bad and the ugly things that go along with this. For me the good out weighed the bad. My advice to you is read the threads and look at the before and after pictures(those were the most inspiring for me) and see if this is for you. Good luck to you! Danyel

I live in Detroit, right downtown. I am having my surgery april 30th at harper. Where are you having yours? I am very new to all this to so we are in the same boat. Mine has been sinking for years, so I'm glad I finally found a life jacket. You are not alone out there, it is very scary.

Good Luck!! I am having my surgery on the 30th and I am feeling a little bit nervous myself. By what everyone else is saying it doesn't seem like it's going to be that bad. I know that this is the best decision that I have made for myself.

I have been reading this forum since thinking about getting the band. First I was going to go the mexico, made an appt. for May 5th. I have no insurance so tried and tried to find credit, with no luck. Well I live in Detroit and the great lakes weight loss center is running a special till the end of May for 9,900 and the credit company they go through approved me. So on tuesday I go for my consult then I go for my surgery on April 30th. I have been very back and forth about having this done, is this the right thing, is it going to work for me, am I going to have problems, and so on. Well thanks to all the supportive people on this forum (even though it was support to other people) (this is my first post) I have decided that I am making the right chose. I do believe that this is going to work (it has to, this is my last hope) I hope to find the support and encouragement to make it through every day, the tough ones and even the easier ones. Thank you all for giving me hope.

Dr. Webber is who I am seeing they have 3 doctors though. I called last week and they could have done it on the 24th but I couldn't. I think because I am self pay that may help. I used to live in Flint is that where you are from?

I also have not so good credit. I just used a co-signer and was approved in seconds for double what I needed. It can't hurt to try, go to carecredit.com and see what happens. Let me know if you need any more info I am more than willing to help. Good luck to you.

Hello everyone! I have been reading this forum for about 2 1/2 months. I finally have my surgery date for April 30th. Since making the app. I have been very back and forth on whether or not this is a good choice. It is a scary decision and it has to be the right thing for you. I just want to thank everyone for being an inspiration. Many of you have brought tears to my eyes, knowing that there are people out there that have gone through their lives the way I have. I now know that this is the best thing that I can do for my life and that I am not a complete failure thanks to all the supportive and loving people here. You all have to remember that you are beautiful people and that you ALWAYS have been, at any size. Thank you for touching my heart.
