Insurance not covering bariatric surgeries
Sonyawon posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Luckily I had my surgery done almost 2 years ago. ...I am very fortunate ...the last Insurance meeting that I went to for my company said, our insurance is no longer going to cover bariatric surgeries. I don't understand why they wouldn't. Like I said I'm very fortunate it has change my life for the better. Why are they taking something so beneficial...away? Loving Life -
Yes its winter & I live in Ohio.... But I'm FREEZING. I worked so hard to get the weight off and now I'm cold. My insulation is gone!!! I wear a tank top, along sleeve turtleneck, a long sleeve t-shirt and a sweatshirt. Lol four layers to work. Plus my coat, head band, hat, gloves. I feel like that kid from the Christmas story who's all bundled up to go outside and play in the snow and can't move lol. I wear sweats around the house and have to wrap up in a blanket. sometimes I have to go in and take a HOT shower just to warm my body up. I also go to bed now with my sweat pants and sweat shirt lol real sexy right? Not complaining..... happy that I'm skinny.... BUT I AM FREEEEEEZZZZZZING LOL. I think I need to move to a tropical island!!!!!!!!!!

I also find that while I'm away at work during the day I have no problem eating slow but I'm by myself it's much harder to eat slow when you're around people Loving Life

I'm almost 2 yrs out .....I still have to remind myself to slowwww downnnn. Definitely put fork or food down ...set a timer if need be. My daughter pointed out I can sit beside her and I eat nice and slow " she's a fast eater " but sitting across from her, she said I keep pace with her. So maybe family can also point out what your doing that you may not realize.. Now we laugh and she will say mom don't sit across from me. Loving Life

I have to have a tooth surgically removed they will put me to sleep and then afterwards the doctor has prescribed ibuprofen 600 of course it's after hours and I just now remembered we really have to be mindful of what medicines were taking ...oops ...is that a pain killer that we can take? Loving Life

Thank you guys so much !!!! That's what I thought I will be calling the surgeon's office tomorrow and ask for something else. The thing is, doing the paperwork, I even put down that I had had the bariatric surgery cuz they wanted you to list all your surgeries in the past 5 years and I even put down under the medications that I take the bariatric vitamins and calcium. I guess it's so easy to just get so busy in your life that you just kind of forget these things but I'm glad I looked at the prescription when I got home and thought about that. I am so very thankful to have all of you help me when I am just not thinking straight Loving Life -

How much is everyone eating now?
Sonyawon replied to SleeveinIL's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Been sleeved for15 months when you feel it in you chest your smart to stop cause when you feel it in you throat you will feel sick and vomit. Also, use small bowls and small plates. I use custard bowls and suacer size plates, and everyone else uses big bowl and big plates its really funny. I use small dishes because in my head I still think I can grab a normal plate and fill it up like I used to, which is absolutely hilarious because I cannot eat nowhere near that amount of food so why do I do it? Because I've done it all my life. So little saucer size plate = little portions ....and eat slowwwwwww ...... Loving Life -

Ohhhhhh I sooooo lied!! Lol [emoji51][emoji43][emoji44][emoji18] I always said 200. I was 310.... On this last one in Jan, I said 180 cause I new I'd be there soon and hopefully weigh even less... Its a wonder they don't make everyone get on a scale for the ligit weight . Do you think, when we walk out the door their laughing their asses off saying "oh, she wishes!" Loving Life -

WLS & Relationships
Sonyawon replied to sillykitty's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hmmmm interesting. I was single and I have entered into a committed relationship and it has been absolutely wonderful and this man only just joined my journey after I was 7 months out from surgery and he has been an absolute wonderful supportive man through my journey we've been together for 8 months and it has been awesome.. He's offered to support me in any way possible and has followed through .....the most support I've ever had in my life... I value him so much for being here for me and it's just truly made my experience all that much better. Hell I had best friends that didn't want to be supportive of this surgery and I'm no longer friends with ....so for a man to just walk in my life and be so supportive and committed in my journey.. so I believe this also changes us for the better in more ways than one...... in every way in your life Sent from my LGL84VL using BariatricPal mobile app -
