I live in Ohio and have Caresource (Medicaid) insurance. I jumped through all the hoops and went to a cardiologist, a dietician, physical therapy, pyschologist, gastroenterologist, had a scope down my throat and everything. It was nine months of appointments and hoops. I have now been denied twice. My only hope is that the peer to peer convinces them. I am currently at 49.44 BMI and they denied me because my BMI was below 50 and I didn't have a comorbidity that was poorly controlled. I guess my question is if anyone has gained weight to get a higher BMI and then been approved? My doctor seems to think that if I gain weight at this point they won't approve it because it will show that I don't actually want to lose weight.
