What is happening to our βlikesβ? I am losing mine!!
Biddy zz π³οΈπ replied to Biddy zz π³οΈπ's topic in Rants & Raves
Except I have lost about 40 likes, and still donβt seem to be gaining?? Is this true of everyone, our likes came off our total instead of adding? Thanks for your hard work - I am liking liking posts again! -

Hi @Alex Brecher - 6 or 7 more likes since I posted - but my total has risen only by the one I gave myself!! But I, for one, seem to have stopped getting the βyou canβt like this postβ notice. @FluffyChix likes total is on the rise - is it only me?? You trying to get rid of me?.π -
Should We Just "Accept Our Best Shot" and Not Be Bothered If We Don't Make Goal?
Biddy zz π³οΈπ replied to FluffyChix's topic in Rants & Raves
@FluffyChixI love you and want to have your babies! This is a GREAT post. Back to your original post (and tucking in mind that we each work to set a reasonable goal) I agree. I didnβt make myself look like a walking cadaver of scars across the surgeries so that I could be content with whatever outcome I get. Cos if I accept that, well that piece of chocolate caramel slice will NEVER stop yelling βclose enough is good enoughβ. My surgeon says we should average loss of 75% of excess weight, by the way, not 60/65. He has a longitudinal study of 1700 of his patients going back up to 18 years. 75% is the average. So shoot for the moon fashizzle, shoot for the moon... I am over the 75% now (it is taken from highest weight - 260 for me). I aim to end up in the βnormalβ bmi range. I look pretty normal now and have 14lbs to go - I am in normal off the rack clothes now. My goal is probably gonna be 2-3 lbs below that so I have βfluctuation roomβ. And if I keep eating like I do, and losing 2 lbs every week like I am, I am nearly there, and I am bloody well not stopping or moving to maintenance until I do..... -
Hi fc Tell us a bit more? (Or fill in your profile) Without knowing your height it is tough to see whether this is in line with expectations... after all, 37 pounds is a couple of pounds a week, consistently - good on most diets! What is your goal? Your bmi? Your surgery type? And share with us a bit about your eating habits... Folks on here know a lot about weight loss predictions for people of various start/goal weights, etc. I reckon youβll get good stuff from some here, if you share a little more with them.......

Legal food on the run: Convenience foods that work and strategies for restaurants

I canβt do protein bars - dumping! I had thought a baggie with chopped up protein bars in the glove box would be an ideal βon the runβ option! So, I have roasted chickpeas now instead. Do βem myself. Takes about 50 minutes to roast a couple of cans until they are dry and crunchy. Roll in a drizzle of olive oil, and coat with a seasoning. My current zip-lock bag has a chipotle and chilli salt coating - give the bag a shake and eat a handful. About a dozen to 20 fills me up. Good protein but not good if you are doing low carb. Does America have the subway-like chain called Pita Pit? They do GREAT salad, and the one with roast chicken is a delight - esp with the salad being just olives, jalapeΓ±os, pickles and lettuce... mmmm. Makes me want one for breakfast! -

Hi Alex I had four hundred and twenty something likes last week. Have had at least 15-20 since then but my tally now is 416. Someone liked my post above - but my tally showing on the website is still 416 which it was an hour ago. So something isnβt recording!! It is declining!! -

4 weeks out feeling positive
Biddy zz π³οΈπ replied to blackhawkpro's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Donβt be mistaken - I never COMMENT on the fitness and exercise threads!!! -
I am really phobic about vomiting. I get big meds with surgery to make sure it doesnβt happen after the op - and (touch wood) I havenβt vomited since. There had been gentle βregurgitationβ a couple of times when I ate too much or too fast - very non-violent, as you say. Get the best anti nausea drugs during surgery, and get off the heavy pain meds asap after, to reduce the throwing up chances... Best of luck...

I wonder if you are reading in different places to me - overwhelmingly what I read here is positive. Tips, tricks, tools, successes and triumphs. A few things gone wrong - every time followed by encouragement on putting it right. I have got so much out of the great ideas on the recipes/food/nutrition forums. I love, at the moment, the fitness and exercise forum, as I try and step up my fitness. Hugely positive place! Nice to add your news of good progress to add to the positivity total! -

Actually - chickpeas are carby - I checked. Not sweet! When baked they halve in weight - this made me two flavours, 2 biggish movie-treat helpings of each. Each helping has 310 calories, 50g carbs - all complex, not sugar- and 15g protein. I have half or 1/3 a helping. -

I looked - no Beanitos here π₯ Quick chickpea recipe? 2 400g cans chickpeas/garbanzo beans Drain, pull off the obviously loose shells. Lay on paper towels for 30mins to dry, swapping out the towels after 5 mins. Bake 400degrees, on a tray lined with foil. Check after 40 mins - may take up to an hour. Done when crunchy. Drizzle over 2 tbsp olive or coconut oil, and coat. Then tip into seasonings. Today, I have two seasonings - 1/2 each of: 1. Chipotle rub 2. Chilli con carne rub. Also nice - garlic salt, bbq salt - even honey/cinnamon if you arenβt aiming to be low carb (you pop those back in the oven for 5 mins to caremelize the sugars...) -

You are doing AMAZING - congratulations! Tell me about the healthy snacks (I am always looking to add variety!) today I am making a couple of flavours of crinchy baked chick peas (garbonzo beans) which taste like heaven AND give me protein! Thanks, my friend. Any chance of a couple of photos too?! -
Donβt pay. They have broken HUGE ethical rules - they are not allowed to lie to you. And even worse given they reported you are both bonkers and thick. Their job if they thought you were emotionally unstable would have been to see if you needed support (probably in words of one syllable because βsupportβ is a tough concept for a moron who is so stupid she canβt understand bariatric surgery). Struth, this makes my blood boil. (I have a PhD in Psychology - I no longer work in the field, but used to. They have behaved disgracefully.) By the way, given your low IQ, I was wondering who is the bright person you ask to write your quick witted, wise and warm posts for you?? π€£π

Biddy zz π³οΈπ replied to Miss Topaz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fantastic post! 40lbs loss (the sidebar in your profile says) is significant. I posted somewhere else - four people told me Friday I look βhealthyβ which is a lovely way to note the weight loss without being personal - βhave you lost weight?β Is very intrusive! It is really hard to get a mental picture of my size now - seems you are the same @Miss Topaz - but our other halves seem to have a better idea of it than us! Keep up the good work, my friend
