How is everyone doing? Almost 4 weeks! Starting solids in a few days. I am wondering if you feel more restrictive? Water, liquids go down easy.. too .. purée can do 5 oz or more ??but I don’t .. Does anyone know if broth can count as water? Thanks

Hi from Fl 12/28 sleeved me too! I am staying up until Midnight to get the waster in . Up at 6 start water. i bought some isopure non flavored whey protein and adding it to my shake or yogurt, soup etc. I also use protein water and count that for protein and water? Idk.. this is a full time job managing vitamins, water, protein. Good Luck on your Journey.

Hi December Sleevers! I was wondering if anyone has burning pain in left incision? 9 days post op. I have been doing more bending, walking? House chores Not to excess ? Not sure what to do ? I guess call Dr if it gets worse. No oozing or fever. Thanks for any help. SF

Mary and Aran1030. i am struggling with getting Protein and water.. and gas.. slight burping .. hernia seems ok .. just being cautious not To I’ve over do it afraid to rupture hernia repair 7 days post op. Husband wants attention been taking care of me. 12 pounds since surgery.. going slow ..I guess that’s ok. Anyone try Amino23 to amp up protein? 4 tablespoons 23 grams protein Aran1030 i don’t notice anything with the hernia repair.. stomach seems a little sore. I can’t tell when I am full. Not going over 4 oz yogurt protein drink soup etc

I am reaching out to anyone who can share help in getting Gastric Sleeve approved by Humana Medicare after an emergency Lap Band Removal with a low BMI 30. Are there Any Advocates that can help with a denial and now trying to Appeal? This is just not fair. I am sure there are a lot of Lapband removals Out there. Medicare guidelines are not up to the times of all these problems that are going on with failed Lapband and medical issues causing patients. Thanks for any feedback. BTW they told e to reapply when I reached 35... I have 3 of the comorbids and my band was successful too for me for 5 years.

Hi! Thanks for sharing. They paid the Lapband removal. 3 months ago. They denied the sleeve... I self paid had surgery 12/28 and going to try and appeal the denial. So far so good with my sleeve surgery. I was gaining weight the past three months 25 pounds and sleep apnea .. other past issues come back. I didn’t want to gain more .. and let my health go down. Down 11 pounds. :).

Oh no Mary! Sorry to hear this. That’s scary. Good that Your healed for the most part and stitches didn’t burst. It sucks not feeling good after this surgery! Don’t worry about pounds for now, you will do it. Feel better and hang in there. I am staying in the guest room that I sanitized before I left for the hospital. Keeping dogs out. I don’t want to sneeze. Just hanging out in the recliner, short walks. I’ve been burping so much. More than before. This hernia repaired may have added to the mix of my recovery. Not in too much pain so far .. sore and tired. Down only 5 but I am ok with that one day 3. Have a good day. Stay warm!

Hi! Hollyb815 Thanks for sharing. Glad you are doing well. i am feeling ok. Will head your advice walked 3 times today, sitting in a recliner. Pain not to bad, morphine and Tylenol, zofram, I ended up having a large hernia repaired too. Lots of burping and struggling to get a sip down of water every hour but doing it. It hurts and doesn’t seem to go down always and I need to get a burp up . I am self pay so I hope the pay part of bill and hernia charge?? New day .. journey begins, Happy New Year. Thanks again no sneezing here will see when I get home .. keeping the dogs out of my bubble recoup room haha! Hopefully

Tomorrow 1:00 28th Thursday the day! . I am starting to rethink..... Today was just, water, broth, Isopur.Has anyone used Isopur as a clear liquid the day before surgery? Another question.. I can’t stop sneezing. I am afraid this might burst my stitches :/. Yikes.. I hope I can take liquid Benadryl. I don’t want to sneeze. I am going rouge tomorrow. Getting dropped off at 11.. do you need anyone with you before you go into surgery? My gut instincts say this is right. I just feel a little nervous, have anxiety. well if any of my fellow sleevers have any advice love to hear your comments. Hope you are all doing well. Thank God for this forum. It’s lonely out here. Thanks Mary! Sleeve it is.. have the same feedback Drs don’t want to put the Lapband back in. I have a low BMI and selfpay fighting the insurance working on my appeal. 🙏🏻If any one has any advice on that! Well trying to Get organized for next week surgery. Making lists.Not going to Arizona to be with my daughter and granddaughter this year...taking care of me. Glad you started this group. All scattered.. have my therapist today .. not sure December is a good time for our this surgerys....everyone seems to be doing pretty good ., To you and our group Happy Holidays and continued wishes for healing and strength. 🌲

I am trying to get organized today with a list of all of everyones tips.. sippy cup added.. extra strength gas meds a variety .. feel better continued success! 12/22 preop labs 12/28 surgery I feel scattered.

Well that’s good glad your feeling better.. Rough .. hmmm scary .. Why three days ? I am suppose to one .. hope no more days 🙏🏻 .$$$.. so it seems a lot different than Lapband
