    any November 2017 sleevers?

I think it is normal to have those thoughts. I always go back to the comment I hear and see repeatedly “I only wish I had done it sooner.”

    HELP WITH LIQUID ONLY STAGE

Hmm... that is strange. This is a bariatric jello by Bariatric Advantage, but I guess it would be no to that too.
  4. You look terrific! Congratulations!

    any November 2017 sleevers?

Good luck! I am glad to hear that not everyone had to do two weeks in liquid clear. My doctor requires it, so I will comply. A MFP pal said at least I will be well hydrated. [emoji3]
  9. I apparently have a hiatal hernia and gastritis but no symptoms. My doc will repair the hernia (both of my parents had hiatal hernias). I have to take Prilosec now, but I am pretty sure I need to stop taking massive doses of Excedrin. I have done that. My surgeon says that some people with GERD preop don’t have it post op sleeve, but some have no change. Some people get GERD for the first time. He thinks that having GERD is not a reason to get bypass instead of sleeve.

I started my liquid diet today. I am going to take my stats and post them tomorrow. My weight has been up and down the past few weeks. I am getting excited.

    On the way to surgery!!!

The gas pain and nausea will subside. I had it after gallbladder surgery.

    Might back out...

    Love it!
  15. Geez, that is a new one for me. That sounds a bit high, but it sounds like you are doing well. I guess it was worth it.

    October '17 RNY buddies

I had to do the Heparin shots for a different type of surgery. It is a pain. Glad you are coming along!

    PCP discouragement

I was sure my pcp would say no, so I found a new one who didn’t. My hospital couldn’t refer me, but they did tell me the names of some pcps who refer patients to their Bariatric surgery center

Wow, those are amazing results for such a short period of time. You look amazing! You were beautiful before, but the weight-loss agrees with you. You look even better.

    any November 2017 sleevers?

I have my surgery on Nov. 17 as well. I had my egd today. I am sure it won’t be as awesome as the egd. I haven’t been this relaxed in a long time. I can’t say that I am worried about the surgery, but mainly, that is because I have had a number of weird one-time accidents and medical oddities, so this isn’t even close to my most complicated surgery. Plus, I have had a lot of surgery. I remember being wheeled away from my parents at five to have my tonsils out. I was shy back then and just stayed quiet as I counted backward for the anesthesiologist. I was out quick. I coughed up some hot blood in the bathroom the next day, and at five, I didn’t understand that coughing your guts up was an expression. I thought I had literally coughed my up my guts and was going to die. Of course, the adults thought this was hilarious, and I wasn’t scared of medical procedures after that. I have been lucky to have had some great surgeons. However, I am a little worried about the recovery and hope I can sleep through most of the first week. Just be sure to follow instructions to the tee, and talk to your doc about any concerns. It is normal to be nervous about surgery. I am just a weirdo not to be. You’ll do great!

I would do what the doctor says. I have to do a two week liquid diet, but that is what my doc requires.

    Advice please

Yep, I got mine on my first clinic visit. Then they emailed me a PowerPoint when my surgery was scheduled.
