kittymommy replied to Yo-yo girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! I’m 18 days post-op. Surgery was 5/16, and had VSG. I’m still having trouble getting all my fluids in, and I try my hardest w protein. I’m tired of all the sweet stuff, and I really want salt! My phase will change on Tuesday, so I can’t wait to have some cottage cheese I’m down between 17 & 20lbs. I’m nervous to go back to the dr bec I have not lost anything in the past 2 weeks. Anyone else stall so soon after surgery? -

I was a dog girl for nearly 11 years, and when my Wonderfluff passed away, I adopted a couple of kitties. 2 turned into 5, and I love them all! I also take care of a couple of strays who visit my deck everyday. I’m a sucker for animals [emoji173]️

Hi! I’m from Sussex, originally NYC. I’m still pre-op and have my FINAL nutritionist appointment next week. If all goes well w my pulmonary clearance, I could be looking at surgery late April/early May

What were your sleep apnea results?
kittymommy replied to chamomilelavender's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi - I'm in the same boat as you. I went to the pulmonologist last year for my severe asthma and she gave me a sleep study to take home. I guess it was pretty bad because I scored a 34. I have not had a sleep study since then and was not told I should have a CPAP machine. Fast forward a year later and I need pulmonary clearance for the surgery. New pulmonologist says I MUST have a CPAP machine and orders one through my insurance. (Other pulmonologist is no longer in the office). UGH, so now I'm playing the "waiting game" for the insurance to get back to me regarding my machine. I have to go back in 3 weeks for pulmonary follow up and just want my clearance already. So I feel you... hang in there. I keep telling myself patience is a virtue, good things happen to those who wait, blah blah blah, and everything else not to get ticked off Wishing you the best on your journey! -

I am so happy for you! He definitely sounds like a keeper! I love this post I told my fiancé about my decision to have the sleeve. We've been together for 3.5 years, and if I cannot open up to him, who am I going to open up to? He's my biggest supporter (even though he's tall and skinny, he will still eat healthy with me) and he's my "food police" when I want to "cheat". I don't think you should be scared having this discussion. It's how you weed out the good from the bad. You told him, and he supports you! That's a good man right there! Congrats on your relationship with a keeper!

Which Fitbit is the best??
kittymommy replied to BrittneyH's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had the Blaze over a year now and I love it! It's convenient for me especially controlling my music and reading my texts. I don't find it bulky at all Sent from my SM-T377V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hi Sandy! Welcome! I'm pre-op VSG as well. I'm up in Sussex County. Where in NJ are you?

Killian's Gastric Sleeve Journey
kittymommy replied to Killian's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@Killian - I'm having my meet and greet with Dr. Kwon today! I'm so excited! Today I have psych evaluation, nutritionist, and meet Dr. Kwon. I finished all the other pre-requisites. congrats on your follow up! -
OMG!! I can totally relate! I started gaining weight at 19 when I had my first asthma attack and was hospitalized and had to be on steroids. Since then, I've been struggling with my weight and am now over 100lbs overweight. The struggle is real. It's a vicious cycle: my asthma is bad because of my weight, my weight goes up because of the steroids, I have to take steroids to help the asthma. UGH!!!! I'm pre-op VSG now and going to meet the surgeon later today. I was supposed to lose 12lbs before my surgery, but had to be on Prednisone after Thanksgiving and gained weight So there goes my progress. It totally sucks! Hang in there! I try to drink a lot of water so I can pee out as much excess fluids as possible. Unfortunately that means waking up in the middle of the night with a painful bladder. You got this! You came this far and you will get through it!

Nervous!!! I don’t know the insurance decision [emoji20]☹️[emoji17][emoji21]
kittymommy replied to Gretchel Z's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your insurance denies you, I think the insurance coordinator at the doctor’s office will submit an appeal to get you approved. From what I have read from other people’s posts, this is common. Don’t worry. You will get through this! -
