My personal VSG journey take 2

Hi Jerseyjules, Thank you for your continued postings; you have no idea what they mean to most of us. I had surgery Nov 1, and I am down 22 lbs as today. I spent a week stuck at the same weight and started to freak out. I do feel hunger, not like other people say that they don't. It actually feels like gas on an empty stomach. I started off well eating 3-4 oz every 3 hours. That is no longer the case, I can barely take in a full jello as it grosses me out. Same thing happens with the protein shake and the water. I am barely drinking 16 oz of water in a full day and it takes me a day and a half to drink the 11 oz Premier protein. I have really bad heartburn and only get it when drinking the soups. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? Am currently on the full liquids diet and back to work.
  3. Hi All, i was sleeved on the first, with a hietal hernia repair. I can honest say that the gastric doesn’t hurt one bit, on the other hand, the hernia is painful and it’s so difficult to pass gas via mouth. It makes my chest feel like am having a heart attack. I haven’t been able to meet my liquids due to the hernia. Warm broth goes down great, but water gives me pain (is not even cold, I drink it at room temperature. I walk for about 10 min 5-6 times a day. I basically just do laps around my pool (walking). Everyday it gets little better. Good luck to all those who are still not at day 1 yet. Be patient and listen to your body, it will tell what it needs. Glad you’re doing great confusedturtle3....

First and foremost, I want to thank you for all your videos. Not only are they inspirational but instructional and satisfying. I am a 41 yr old female with 212 lbs on me and a BMI of 38, and am only 5’1”......I wasn’t always a big girl, but after having 4 kids and now 2 grandchildren, I just don’t have the energy anymore. I eat well, just too much of it. Never been a picky eater. The gym just leaves me exhausted and emotionally drained. My point is; I am scheduled for surgery this coming Wednesday, Nov 1st. I was in tears last night because my husband doesn’t seem to be very supportive of my decision (he weights 138 lbs soaking wet). I was ready to call my Dr. first thing Monday morning to cancel, but After watching your videos most of the day today, I felt such relief that I no longer want to cancel. THANK YOU!!!!!!! And you look HOT (no disrespect to your wife) so enjoy it....

    Liquid Diet Started Today

I was set for the 8th as well, but was moved up to the 1st due to my BMI being low I don’t need to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks. I was pretty nervous yesterday. Today not so much, am sure the jitters will start again over the weekend when the date gets closer.
  8. I was moved up to the 1st since my BMI is not that high (39) I started my liquids today. Premier protein shake for breakfast, Sugar-free Jello pudding for snack and puréed lentil soup for lunch. Let’s see how this goes, am looking forward to my chicken soup liquid dinner.
  9. Hello my Peeps I was just notified by my Dr. that since my BMI is 39 I do not need to do a 2-week liquid diet. I can do one week only and have my surgery on the 1st of November instead. I agreed, of course. Now am freaking out!!!!!!
  10. Thank you, girl! This will be awesome...
  11. Am in Hollywood, Fl.... am looking forward to the weight falling off. Fingers crossed...
  12. I haven’t started and am grumpy already. Omg, this is going to be a very harsh experience for me. For many years, I’ve used food as an escape; the one thing that would not look at me weird and made me feel soooo good. Now, that is gone and am starting to freak out. I went grocery shopping today and purchase sugar free jello and pudding and soups to make at home (creamy soups) in order to not get bored and run to eat something I shouldn’t. What Dr. is performing your surgery? Best of luck to you.
  13. Hello Everyone!!!! Am in Florida and am scheduled for Nov 8th. My liquid diet starts Oct 26th... one more day and the clock starts ticking. I’ve spent most of my day looking for liquid diets. I don’t want to fail.... this is a huge thing for me (I can only assume, for all of you as well) and I tend to get frustrated quick when it comes to food. If anyone has any recipes, please send my way.
