I wasn't on "full" liquids until day 6.... When I was at your stage I was still having vegetable broth, popsicles, 100% diluted juice. Protein shakes could be too heavy. I still can't drink plain water to this day, and may never be able to.

Tea Drinkers

Let me know what flavors you end up getting. I’m still trying a lot of the hot tea flavors. So many to choose from. -
Tea Drinkers

I agree, I avoid everything with added sugar. These teas will be a hard exception though, they are too good to pass up. I don't feel guilty drinking them, as I have a hard time with fluids. I add stevia to mine, so I don't get that real opportunity to enjoy the natural sweetness. -
TMI ... let's call this "things sit differently for a smaller man"

I am a woman and I cannot relate. But, everyone has that one thing that they have to adjust to... you think that loosing weight will bring you nothing but joy. No one talks about the saggy breasts that might as well be "tennis balls in tube socks" or how a man's balls don't feel right resting on a chair. I'm glad we have these problems though -
Desperate Confessions.....When your mind "went there" to lose weight

I'd say pathetic is right. But we have turned over a new leaf and have found our inner strength. The women who thought those thoughts, are gone! -

If you drink hot tea, the carrot cupcake doesn't have "added sugar", rather sugar occurring from natural ingredients. But it is delicious! I'm not sure what your plan is, if this would prevent you from being able to try certain blends. -
Tea Drinkers

Oh bummer. I just looked at some of the hot tea blends, and not all of them have added sugar. So I'd just evaluate the ingredients before picking a blend. Obviously, Jess is right... follow your plan. But the calories and added sugar doesn't seem to be unreasonable. -
Desperate Confessions.....When your mind "went there" to lose weight

I can completely relate. No judgments, because what I'm about to say is BAD... very very BAD. I used to think to myself, if only I got sick... really sick... even curable cancer sick... maybe I could finally loose the weight. Chemo takes away your appetite. As long as it was early stage cancer. The thoughts that entered my mind... I can't believe sometimes. I was desperate, delusional, LAZY, and unmotivated. I can't say there was a point in which I said... enough is enough... I don't recall the epiphany moment. But I will say that I had TOO MANY moments where it should have been my moment. 1. I sat on a sturdy lawn chair on someone's wood deck. The chair didn't break.... the board on the deck busted. 2. I realized, I no longer had to adjust the seat in the car when my husband had been driving. He is 6'4, I am 5'4. My weight was filling the seat and I couldn't move the seat up any further because my belly would be pressed against the steering wheel. 3. I realized if I didn't get my sh** together... I would never have children. I'm pushing 30 and my OBGYN said that if it takes you 2+ years to loose the weight and then the time it takes to get pregnant....it was concerning him. 4. When someone at work thought it would be a good gift to get me a "Free Frosty for a year" tag from Wendy's. 5. The list goes on and on and on...... -
Most embarrassing diet/exercise product you've ever bought?
TakingABreak replied to Creekimp13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I did the "Special K" diet, what in the world made me think eating cereal for 3 meals a day was going to help me loose weight? Also, I bought one of those waist slimming belts. At the time it had me sold on "Sweat off the pounds while you workout, sit at your desk, or wear it around the house" or "traps body heat while compressing fat cells in the body using high-tech synthetic polymer to promote weight loss"..... Yep... walk of shame. -
Tea Drinkers
TakingABreak replied to TakingABreak's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
They are seriously yummy! I hope you both enjoy! The whole splash collection is AMAZING. but their hot teas are fabulous too. Also, just a tip.... if you don't already have a cup or tea pot that does loose leaf tea ( for hot blends) I'd look at TJ Max or Marshalls. I found really nice ceramic tea cups with the mesh liner for steeping for only $5.00. Now, that cold press pitcher... MUST HAVE. Its so easy and the tea turns out great. I also steeped mine in the pitcher for the full 20 mins (recommended for stronger taste) then I added my liquid stevia. Yum yum yum! -

I know, I can't wait until summer comes and I can really enjoy the nice weather by being active. -
My 3 month post op went great! I met with the PA but the surgeon called me a couple hours later to personally congratulate me on my success so far. Down 84lbs and took 14 points off my BMI. Here’s a pic from our great day! Thank you to my super supportive hubby!

Such a good point about how weight ages you. I feel my age now. I can’t wait for summer to roll around and I can test the limits of this new body in outdoor activities. -

Chicken Cordon Bleu Wonton Cupcakes Yield: 12 cupcakes Ingredients: 12 oz (2 ½ cups) cooked diced or shredded chicken breast (I used grilled and diced) 3 oz thinly sliced deli ham, chopped (I used Hillshire Farm Deli Select Ultra Thin Brown Sugar Ham) 8 wedges of The Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese Wedges, chopped 1 teaspoon mustard (I used French’s Yellow Mustard) 24 wonton wrappers 6 slices 2% Swiss Cheese, each cut into 4 equal pieces 0.75 oz seasoned croutons, crushed (I just put mine in a baggie and smushed them by hand until I had some chunks and some crumbs) Directions: Pre-heat the oven to 375. Lightly mist 12 cups in a standard muffin/cupcake tin with cooking spray and set aside. In a microwave-safe mixing bowl, combine the chicken, ham, chopped cheese wedges and mustard and stir together. Place the bowl in the microwave and heat on high for 1 ½ minutes until contents are warm. Use a spoon to mix contents and smush the cheese wedges until they’ve coated the meat. Push a wonton wrapper into the bottom of each of the sprayed cups in the muffin tin. Using about half of the chicken mixture, spoon evenly into the wonton wrappers. Place one of the 2% Swiss pieces on top of each cup. Press another wonton wrapper on top and repeat the layering steps with the remaining chicken mixture and 2% Swiss cheese. Bake for 10 minutes and remove from the oven. Sprinkle the crushed croutons evenly on top of each cup and return the pan to the oven for another 8-10 minutes until the wontons are golden brown and the contents are heated through.
