That's great! I keep waiting for the scale to stop moving, but it hasn't so far. I'm almost 4 months post op.

Is insurance paying for your arm lift also?

WOW! Such a big difference! Congrats!

I'm sure you will be OK. I'd ask your surgeon if there is any doubt. But congrats, and good luck tomorrow! -
We need Fat Moderators

Ahhh I see. I'm royally confused. So Creek, are you saying that you want people who are at different stages of weight loss to "moderate" the posts to make sure people aren't being too biased? Are you saying that you think current moderators can only see it through "smaller people" lenses? I guess, I've only had one instance where I had to report a post. But, I can see how there is a need for someone to interfere when things get out of hand. I think having moderators in every room would hinder things. I have benefited from some "tough love", and I'm not talking about the over-the-top, extreme a$$hole version, but from people telling me the thing I really needed to hear. I think it could sensor some of the much needed conversations that are happening. I will go back to my original statement when I though that a "moderator" was everyone... I wish we had more diversity. -

do you have a bowel prep? The only reason I ask is because you may want to do some enemas. My surgeon required clear liquids the day before surgery because they want to make sure your bowel is completely empty. A pizza the day before surgery could derail you. I've heard people getting their surgeries postponed. -

@Creekimp13 What is a moderator? if someone could kindly answer my question.... -
Such a great transformation! Its rare to see someone who started out, like myself, on the high side of the BMI scale. Did you stop loosing at a certain point or still going? I see you are almost to the 18 month mark?

I remember I did SOOOO much research trying to convince myself that I could eat something and it wouldn't hurt me. I researched it so much one night, that my craving went away. I'd stay course. You will be glad you did. -

Ok, I'm officially confused. What is a "moderator"? -

I cheated on mine with a fountain diet dr. pepper. And mmmmm it was good. I remember thinking, it was going to be that or a Big Mac from McDonalds. Glad I stuck with the soda. It was weird too, because I had given soda up for 3 months prior to that.... SMH. -

I must be confused as to what a "moderator" is....who are the moderators? I thought "moderator" was the verbiage being used for everyone who posts. I obviously read that wrong. However, I will say that it leads to a hostile environment to spread drama across posts. It affects everyone, and its counter productive. Plus, like myself, I didn't read that post until today. What about the lot of them who hasn't read it at all. It's confusing and is taking away from the point of the site. -

I agree with @Creekimp13 about how it would be nice to have a greater variety of voices. I like reading stories about people who have come back with a regain after 5+ years. It keeps everything in focus for me. I'm started on the HIGH end of the BMI scale, and I wish there were more people with success stories of reaching goal that are still active. Not to say that there aren't, because I follow each and every one that I find. But there are so many variables: age, height, weight, and gender. I know its silly, but seeing someone close to my stats with success gives me hope. -

Whoah whoah whoah, lets leave that drama where it started. Lets not cross posts.... and She is well qualified to fight her own battles, she doesn't need you, I assure you. -
Should We Just "Accept Our Best Shot" and Not Be Bothered If We Don't Make Goal?
TakingABreak replied to FluffyChix's topic in Rants & Raves
I can't believe I read through 7 pages of comments. But sillykitty, yours was the one that resonated. I think you hit the nail on the head with how you think you come across, but how you really do come across. I think Fluffy has good intentions, hence the "You often start your replies to posts with positive affirmations, to then only undercut them." but then she gets ahead of herself. Her and Creek are both very passionate about this process. And thank goodness for that, we don't have a lot of regulars on here that make a point to respond to EVERY post. Who are the back bones and are always there in some capacity. I do have to say, I read through this without knowing what it was going to end like... and I don't believe @Creekimp13 attacked anyone. I read a lot of opinions from a lot of people. End story. My opinion on the goals. I think that we all set out to make a positive healthy change in life. It would be wonderful to be apart of the 80% excess weight loss, but 60% is healthier than where I started. Will I be disappointed in myself if I don't reach my "goal", perhaps, but then I'll have a husband, a mother, a sister, who will make me fill the cart at the grocery store with 90lbs worth of ground beef. And I'll no longer be disappointed. -

I did that with a bite of pizza when I was early on. I think we've all been there at some point or another. -
I am almost 4 months post op and still can't have straight water. I was told it is the texture of water that doesn't agree with bariatric patient's pouches after surgery. I mix water with caffeine free tea, crystal light, or calorie free water additive. Like the other poster said, you can try different temperatures of water. But if all else fails, I'd mix something with it.

The capsules have no taste. They are just a larger pill. But I don’t have a hard time getting them down. -

It can be really frustrating when we compare ourselves to others. Unfortunately, just a difference in gender can be a big difference. Stay strong. -

I feel the same way. I suppose it’s because I have a lot more time to watch people eat because I eat slower and usually finish far sooner than everyone else. I was watching half my family eat corn on the cob and it was like nails on a chalk board. -
I see a big difference! Congrats!
