Mountain bread 2 weeks post op
TakingABreak replied to Trainwreck's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sometimes I wonder if people post this stuff and sit back and chuckle. It’s this a real question? I was allowed only whole grain bread after 6 weeks. Doesn’t sound like a smart decision. Stay away from anything white! It’s a good rule of thumb. -
While I can see with both points of view, I resonate with this comment. There is a lot that I find offensive in life. I mean, I started to type out a list, but it's too long. If I chose to take all that I find offensive, personally, I wouldn't have relationships with all the people in my life. Everyone has a different set of morals and beliefs. Everyone sees things differently. SERIOULSY PEOPLE, imagine all the things you find offensive.... what if you took this closed minded stance with everyone.....

What are you eating for breakfast, lunch? Lost.
TakingABreak replied to magpie26's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm super boring and usually have left over meat that I grilled the night before. Today is a boneless skinless chicken thigh, with Sugar Free BBQ Sauce. I will follow that in about an hour or two later with 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. But I always have a lean meat for 2 meals a day. -
Perspectives on Losing Fast & Slow

Hi Karen, I started out at 332, a BMI in the 50's, and my doctor set an expectation of 3-5lbs per week. You are loosing 4lbs per week on average. This is really good. This process doesn't happen overnight. Keep up the good work, you should be very proud. -
I got confused and originally thought this post was by you until I seen the pic, lol I hope this doesn't happen often, I'll never be able to change my profile pic LOL

Protein - How much is too much?
TakingABreak replied to Orchids&Dragons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually exceed 100grams a day without effort. I do have a smoothie to start each day that has 45grams. But all my snacks and meals are usually protein rich options. I also eat on average, 1000 calories per day. -
Scale Recommendations

Thanks this is great. Seems to do it all. -
Unfortunately there isn't a solution for everything. And most of the time, we shouldn't be offering solutions to some of the major problems people post about on here. I see a lot of posts that should be answered by a medical professional. Nonetheless, "thoughts and prayers" are another way to say that you won't be forgotten, and you are on my mind. I'm not suggesting that because I pray for you that it will automatically "cure or save you", its just a way to say that I'm carrying you with me throughout my day.

Explanation is not owed. We all have those days and moments. We are passionate about our beliefs and no one should apologize for them.

thank you! I have an I-watch, so I'm not sure if it's compatible. But that article seems to have some good options. -
Perspectives on Losing Fast & Slow

I feel you 100%! If I loose all the intended weight, I'll have lost 180lbs, over half my body weight at a goal of 150lbs. -
Perspectives on Losing Fast & Slow

I have had such a range of emotions. Even though, I've lost over a 100lbs in 4 months, I can't see a big change most of the time. I've only budged 2 pant sizes. I'm holding a lot in my stomach. I find myself gravitating towards bigger clothes because I feel more "successful" in them. I have 47lb to go before I reach my initial goal set by the surgeon, 180lbs . Overall, 77lbs to go if I'm to get into a "healthy" BMI, 150lbs. -

Loneliness doesn’t discriminate. I’m glad you’ve found a forum that you can be anonymous and get the support you need. Everyone here supports you. Best of luck! Don’t be a stranger. -

Good to know! I think I still have a lot fat, but probably not as much as I think I have. I've lost over a 100lbs and I've only gone down 2 pant sizes. My stomach is a real problem area. I have to wait 2 years post op before insurance will pay for my pani, so I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. -

I also had childhood sexual abuse from 8yrs-12yrs old. Thank god, only had to deal with long lasting emotional trauma. This is even more of a reason for you to seek professional therapy during this process. I already had a therapist when I started because I suffer from PTSD from the abuse, but if I didn't, I would have established with one. A critical part of success in this, is to be mentally healthy! -
I bought myself this beautiful wooden full length mirror that tilts. Now, I can see myself in all the new clothes. I've become a little bit more vain than expected LOL.

This is why I switched to a 1x per day capsule that I can swallow. It covers all the ASMBS recommendations. The only thing I take separate, also once per day is calcium and vitamin D combo tablet.

Oh I feel ya there! I also don't worry about where they sit me at a restaurant. Booth or table, I know I'll fit now! -

Its crazy to say, but I get better customer service now that I'm thinner. Maybe that's people being less disgusted or maybe its them taking me more serious. Either way, its irritating and great at the same time.
