    Don't pray for me

I have over 5,000 points, and I also didn't know about it until recently! I can't wait to redeem them.

Don’t count out the sausages just yet. Sometimes you can retry things later down the line. It was that way with lettuce for me. You might just have to take baby steps from here on out.

    Enough??

Thank you! I've got about 45lb more to go before my first goal. I'm hoping to make it by November 1st. Fingers crossed!

I was just like you and actually used it in my first couple months post op (because I had already paid for it), but there has been a lot of reports out there that they are being sued due to their labeling. Their protein measurements are from a clinical trial, its not anything that has been tested and studied outside their company. Anyway, I'm not spending that ridiculous amount on something that I don't know for a fact that I'm getting "medical grade protein". From what I've read, it seems sketchy. @Matt Z could probably provide more info. I would recommend Isopure for unflavored powder.

    school uniform fitting struggle

@Courtney95 I agree ^^^^ I didn't see a big improvement in my waist until almost 80lbs down, and I still only dropped 2-3 pant sizes. However, my outer extremities are a lot smaller. It truly depends on where you carry your weight, and how fast you lose. It's hard to say if you'll be one to lose 30+lbs in that one month. But one thing is for sure, I wouldn't buy a large if you are a 2-3X now. I don't think its realistic to say you will lose more than 35-40 lbs your first month. And that probably won't put you down 3-4 sizes. It would be better that you had something to wear, big or not, than something you couldn't fit into.

    Protein Vitamins instead of shakes?

I just add it to the batter.

    How's everyone doing?

I don't think I'd ever poop without carbs. I do eat a healthy amount. I have fruit, and some whole grains, legumes...ect. I just try to keep it under 50 (60 max!) carbs per day.

    Motherf&*^%$

Ok ok, calm down.. deep breaths. You know that you didn't actually "gain" weight. It takes 3,500 calories to gain a single pound. I know you aren't over there eating Big Macs.... It's probably a combination of hormones, water retention, time of day, pooping schedule/constipation, ect. If you had said, 5-7 lbs... I'd be more curious... 1.6 lbs could mean you need a healthy poop. But girl, I'm always down for a vent session! It is frustrating to say the least. Try not weighing yourself daily. It really doesn't help to feel this way, when tomorrow you could be down 3+lbs.

    How's everyone doing?

Its very sly how carbs sneak their way back in. I have to be so diligent about logging my food because now that I am eating more versatile foods, its easy to eat carb heavy.

I would start trying to get your protein in through food now. I do one shake a day still, but honestly, I don't need to. I can get most of my protein from meals. Even if it's just softer foods like yogurt, cottage cheese, ect. The shakes will get old and you want a good foundation set to eat your protein.

I third Creek and Matt's advice, increase your calories! You are already working out, which means you are burning on top of eating so little. I had the 3 week stall as well, and I didn't start losing again until I increased my calorie intake. When I started working out, I was taking in approx. 800-900 calories per day, and burning approx. 500. Now, I burn 600-700 per day and eat upwards of 1200 cal per day. I also have PCOS, but haven't had any problems with slow loss. I eat carbs as well. Obviously follow your program, but PCOS is not an automatic "death sentence" for losing.

    Protein Vitamins instead of shakes?

How much would you say you are getting on a daily basis? Do you log all of your food? Even on days where I think I haven't met my goals, usually I surpass my protein goals. I always make sure that everything I eat has protein in them. When you consider that 4 oz of chicken breast has upwards of 25 grams of protein. Have you tried unflavored protein powder? You can add that to coffee, soups, you can bake with it, oatmeal, cream of wheat, ect. Here's a couple recipes I add protein powder, flavored or not, and helps me get it in! I do soups as well, which are easy and you can freeze the left overs. https://www.bariatriccookery.com/strawberry-banana-loaf (for this one, I use whole wheat flour instead of regular & add unflavored protein powder) https://kalynskitchen.com/cottage-cheese-and-egg-breakfast/ (add unflavored protein powder) https://kalynskitchen.com/recipe-for-low-sugar-whole-wheat-and-2/ (add unflavored protein powder) https://kalynskitchen.com/whole-wheat-zucchini-muffin-feta/ (add unflavored protein powder) https://www.bariatriccookery.com/simply-gorgeous-protein-brownies (best dessert ever...mmmm!)

Anxious - Lonely - No Friends to Support My Journey

As a survivor myself, it sounds like you may need some professional therapy to help cope with the long lasting affects. I personally did EMDR to help with my PTSD, as a result of the sexual abuse. I was extremely skeptical, but it really works! Send me a PM if you want more info. Hugs!

    Is Watermelon ok to eat?

I ate watermelon about 2-3 months post op. I would have had it sooner, but it wasn't in season when I had my surgery. I love cantaloupe as well, and ate that as soon as I was cleared for fruits. It's a good one because it doesn't have seeds. Just watch the amount you are eating, for me, I could practically binge on some cantaloupe. It's almost a slider food for me. I always measure out my portion and put the rest away.

    One day after

I had hiccups in the hospital and it was awful. They ended up giving me something in my IV to help. If they don't subside, call your doctor's office and let them know. Its miserable for your whole diaphragm to be moving when you just had stomach surgery.

    Enough??

You can get it almost anywhere, at GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, or from the store through this website. However, I usually order mine through Amazon. Steer clear of Genepro though.

    Food is everything

It is nuts how everything revolves around food, especially social gatherings. Do you feel self conscience about drinking because people know that you aren't? Or because you aren't on their level?

    Don't pray for me

I hope I don't come across this way from my post.... I think everyone should stop posting, only because its the "song that never ends, it goes on and on my friend" but, I'm always up for a healthy debate.
  24. A lot of times this is actually GERD that you are hearing. I hate the saying "my stomach is growling" because over 50% of the time, you aren't actually hungry when it happens. It sounds like you have a lot of gas, which is common, and you might want to talk to your doctor about taking an proton pump inhibitors, which is a stomach acid reducer. My doctor recommends to take this medication for at least 6 months. You can get this OTC, or if your insurance pays for it, by prescription. I take Omeprazole, but other brands are Prilosec OTC or Prevacid. Ultimately, don't eat when you hear your stomach, otherwise, you will be eating all the time. My stomach is like having a naggy kid follow me around all day.
