    Week 3 Nausea

I had a similar experience in that same time frame. Mine was to all foods. I called it a food aversion, but it was more of just an extreme lack of appetite. I remember going to the grocery store and feeling nauseous and wondering if I would ever be able to eat again. This of course passed within another couple weeks. The one piece of advice I can give is, forgive your body and remember it won't always be this way. Even if you get sick on a certain food, don't give up on it. I tried foods again 2-3 times before knowing that it was something I could or couldn't eat. I used prescription nausea medication, and still to this day occasionally, when it got bad.

    Major non scale victory

That is awesome! I loved the testimonies in the seminars I attended (2 different doctors offices). It made it personal for me and felt more real, and attainable.
  3. Completely normal, as frustrating as it is. Keep to your plan and stay off the scale for now. Remember, you can still be loosing inches without seeing it reflect on the scale. If you haven’t taken your measurements, do it now. It will safe you from feeling a lot of defeat later when you stall. I’m 6 months post op and I stall almost every other week. Even after you loose a substantial amount of weight, stalls will be hard. It’s a part of the process. Just remember, they say it takes 12-18 months, and it can truly take that long. But I try and remember how long it would have taken me to loose 127lbs on my own, not 6 months, I can tell you that. Hang in there!
  4. Not sure what stage you are on but i was eating soft foods: - Greek yogurt - cottage cheese - eggs with cheese, mild salsa, hummus, avocado, finely diced ham - rotisserie chicken with low sodium gravy - baked salmon - soups with added protein powder - tuna, egg, or chicken salad with Greek yogurt and mayo - beans, black and retried - banana mixed with PB2, and protein powder - baked sweet potato - roasted squash or zucchini - FairLife milk (13grams protein per cup) & SF chocolate syrup. My plan allowed a lot back in around a months time. So def follow your plan. Just remember that actual food adds up more calories than shakes. Snacks are OK too. I ate 5-6 small meals for the longest time. Still manage at least 1 snack now.

    Losing inches!!

I agree. My situation is very similar. I continue to lose more inches when my weight isn't reflective on the scale.

    Dry skin

This is a description of the benefits of Bio Oil: Helps improve the appearance of scars; stretch marks; uneven skin tone; aging skin; dehydrated skin. Contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil. Bio-Oil is a specialist moisturizing oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, aging and dehydrated skin. PurCellin Oil: The Bio-Oil formulation is a combination of plant extracts and vitamins suspended in an oil base. It contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil, which changes the formulation's overall consistency, making it light and non-greasy, ensuring that the goodness contained in the vitamins and plant extracts is easily absorbed. Bio-oilusa.com. Vitamins A & E. Calendula, lavender, rosemary & chamomile oils. Face & body. Non-greasy. Rapidly absorbed. Hypoallergenic. Suitable for sensitive skin. Made in South Africa. I'd assume that it would be firming in other places. I know its highly recommended for stretch marks and that is usually on your stomach, thighs, ect.

    Fiber insoluble vs soluble

I've never had chia seeds before, that I know of, so I'm going to try to make some pudding! Thanks for the great idea. I love that it is calcium rich, always looking for ways to get some extra.
  9. @Offingapp I'm going to disagree with Matt on this. My husband gave up A LOT for me throughout years of unhealthy and spiraling behaviors. I haven't asked him, nor want him to change for me. I did this so that he would no longer have to make sacrifices due to me anymore. This surgery is about *you*, not anyone else. I'm not saying it's right that she stuffs her face with cake in front of you. Perhaps you guys can compromise on the location of goodies, so it doesn't stare you in the face every time you go into your pantry. You can ask your GF to go into another room when she indulges in a tempting snack. But I wouldn't say that she needs to change for you. I never knew how much my husband compromised until I lost over a 100lbs and realized what he used to do for me, and what he gave up for me. Now, on the reverse side of this... people will say... "I want my family to benefit from these changes and be healthier".... well, we can make these changes for our children. But our spouses are grown men and women. We can cook better for our families. We can shop better. We can inspire and set good examples for them. We can't always change them. Just another input in a very complicated situation. I wish you luck.

    Dry skin

I started using Bio Oil and my skin has 100% changed for the better. All dryness is gone. I’ve also seen a firming affect on my neck and under-chin. It’s cheap too! And goes a long way.
  12. Is saying YOLO too far? Normally, on this site that would be a recipe for disaster. But given the nature of this thread, YOLO!

    Hair Loss

It was even thicker than that before. I’ve had some serious shedding. But yes, it was down to the middle of my back, now above my bra.

    fear of surgery

Fear in this process is normal. But Matt is right, don't let your fear outweigh the interest to go forward with surgery. There are so many more risks to being overweight, than there are for any type of weight loss surgery. The fear of it not working is valid, but trust that all the bad outcomes I've seen, have been because the person wasn't willing to change, not because the surgery didn't work. My only regret is that I didn't do this 10 years ago. Good luck!
