The practice I had my surgery through has a support group every two weeks. They strongly encourage pre and post-op to attend. I attend on a regular basis and find that I get a lot out of them both from the perspective of when I'm looking for info or when I'm able to share info with others about my experience. I picked my goal weight based on what I weighed when I graduated high school. I knew that I felt good and looked good at that weight. My doctors goal weight for me was 265. I looked at him and said I'll blow that out of the water LOL. I had to be confident about something, right? I recommend you pick what you think you're going to feel good at first, especially if you feel like their goal is too aggressive. Ask them what their requirement is in terms of distance within miles, that the Center of Excellence has to be from where you live. Typically if there isn't a contracted provider within 50 miles an exception can be granted. And don't just take the word of the rep on the phone, you may need to ask to speak to a supervisor or manager if the rep doesn't seem to be helping you. I've already saved up for TT...it's not bad but loose enough. Depending on local price may do the Bariatric Pal MX travel surgery. Also considering some Lipo around my chest too. I'm doing it for me to feel good and to be comfortable taking my shirt off in the summer. May be a bit vain but I didn't come this far too only come this far.
