Surgery Day! and beyond: Part 2
336Mike replied to mousecat88's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Congrats on your surgery! HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106] -
My latest, it was my Christmas present. 2nd pic shows it in progress. Now my chest is balanced on both sides. For some reason I have a compulsion for things to be balanced. Must be related to my aspergers. [emoji848] HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

@JRTMom Been below doc's goal weight for a long time (I'd still be fat if I was only at the goal weight they set for me) but at my personal goal weight. I'm feeling good too! HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

@frustr8 love the idea of your memorial. Maybe you can fund a spot that'll work!! Tomkitten will love it!

A little over 2 years out from VSG and 3 months from my FDL TT, at the doc's for my check up! Couldn't be happier with my results from both. HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

Can't wait to get my TT next month. I have my pre-op appointment this Friday morning. I'm still on the fence if I'm just gonna do a Tummy Tuck or go with the fleur-de-lis procedure. The surgeon said I might be happier to get rid of some of the laxity around the mid section and go with the fleur-de-lis. It adds $600 to the price which is not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I just don't know if I want a scar going up the middle of my body to my breastbone.🤷♂️ The good news is the doc does not recommend tightening my ab muscles because he said they should be in pretty good shape and that's where most of the pain and longer term discomfort comes from. Anyhow, I'd like to hear from people who had either procedure done. I'll be staying with my ex mother in law the 1st 2 days and then coming home to take care of myself. My boys will stop in and check on me periodically but other than that I'll be on my own. Is it doable on your own? Honestly that's the part I'm most concerned about. Lol, i think you'll be fine. The recliner was great my body just got sick of it after the first week and a half. HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

@mousecat88 I did have back pain/ soreness for several weeks. It was harder not to last flat for so long than it was not to stand up straight. It was 3-4 weeks before I could stay to stretch more at night and even then had pillows under my legs. HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

@Brent701 It was around $8700 for the FDL TT. The recovery pain wise was about the same - minimal, I have a high pain tolerance - but way longer. You really can overdo it then it catches up to you with soreness, swelling and lots of fluid drainage. Definitely worth it though.

They were a little creepy and took getting used too lol HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

You're welcome. Yes, that's everything from beginning to end. Pre-op to all post-op needs and appointments.

@CoramDeo I could've gone to a less expensive Dr. but part of what I was looking at was how I was treated by the staff as well. Quotes were from $7500 - $10000. Mine came in around $8700.

@sillykitty Thank you!

I hear ya! I was the same way but I had to say f@ck it! It was my battle scar before I had my TT 11 weeks ago. HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

I'm a little over 11 weeks out and healing really well. More swollen on the left than the right. Extremely happy with the results so far!! It's totally weird not having my gut or loose skin someones. I was so used to it. I wake up and feel like I'm missing something, go figure. 🤷♂️ Although, it's awesomely nice tucking in shirts and wearing belts without stuffing fat or skin in! @mousecat88 I was off 2 1/2 weeks and then worked from home for 2 weeks. I'm glad I was able to work from home... was able to wear joggers and be comfy while I continued to heal. HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

Thanks. I hear ya! Mine either, I have a professional job so they're covered all the time. HW = 360 SW = 292 GW = 220 reached 3/7/18 CW = 210 @ 6'5" 150 pounds lost! [emoji106]

@nursemichael I have too many tats to count...some preop and others postop. I got my "rock bottom of being unhealthy" date when I was sick and in the hospital with super high BP and other issues above my elbow. That's when my WL journey got real. Wanted the constant reminder to never go back! Here are some pics of a few. Really into traditional Japanese but out seems to all be on my right side lol. So today is 5 weeks out from surgery and I could not be happier with the results. Still have some swelling as expected. Overall I'm doing great and feeling good. I can comfortable wear jeans but still having a hard time fitting into my suit pants but that'll ease off as the swelling goes down. I'd do this again in a heartbeat!
