    Weed smoking before surgery

Though I think you ought to make this one your last. You don't want THC showing up in any tests being performed.

    I love coffee

I have a Keurig and I bought the Dunkin Donuts Decaf variety. While I can definitely taste a difference between regular and decaf, this brand seems to be much better.

    Help

You might check Cooper in South Jersey. I know it's a little further away but it is still doable.

    Last appointment with dietician

Cool! Your big day will be here before you know it. Today, I have the last and final hurdle which is a telephone call with the nurse anesthetist and surgery on the 12th.

    Coping Mechanisms

I am still figuring this out but my program recommends getting up and taking a walk, reading, or doing some activity when the urge hits. You could try that.

    Weed smoking before surgery

One blunt shouldn't cause a problem.
  7. That I wonder why I am doing this? LOL! Wake up, blood sugar is in the low 130s. How the hell is this possible when it was 98 before I went to bed!? Hey, I know the answer but it still doesn't make sense: body makes sugar at night. My pancreas and liver are at mortal combat with each other. My energy is really super duper low today ... I am ready for a tweet from Donald Trump to confirm my "low energy" so I can join the ranks of Ben Carson. Before anyone says anything, yes, I put down 48 oz of liquid this morning including the 8 oz of that foul product called OptiFast. Yes, I took my Metformin. Yes, everything ran through me faster than 1 lap of the Indy 500. Yes, you missed the opportunity to see a fat man sprint for the white porcelain throne in a record 9.9. No, it wasn't pretty. This sucks a$$! Please tell me it gets better than this, because if it don't, I've got my eye on the biggest pasture made for human beings that goes by the unlikely name of Old Country Buffet. More like Obsessive Compulsive Buffet because you can't leave until you get your money's worth. I mean heaven fore fend if you leave without sampling each and every desert as it would simply be a travesty.

    Start Liquid diet tomorrow

Glad you stuck to it through all of the insurance headaches! But that will be easy compared to the next 2 weeks. The liquid pre-op diet is misery but it is a right of passage. I am on day 7 and it still sucks but at least the physical hunger is gone. I only have head hunger now. It was so strong that when I took a nap I dreamed of eating a cheeseburger.

    My god......what have I done?

I am still pre-op and the same thoughts that you are having are clouding my head. I am even doubting my decision to go with Gastric Bypass. I am thinking I should go with the Gastric Sleeve despite my care team thinking otherwise. Hell, I don't know who to believe at this point. I haven't spent one day in the past 6 months not thinking about the process and trying to make as informed a decision as possible. Yeah, the mood swings suck - I am going from hopeful to despair and everything in between. The folks that have gone through this before say it can and does get better. That's what's keeping me Marching forward. They got to be knowledgeable by walking the same mile we are right now.

    Complications Kaiser SoCal

I am so sorry you're experiencing this. You've just highlighted one of the fundamental problems with healthcare in America: private insurance. It's set up to deny healthcare because providing it is, well, expensive and takes away from profits. Keep up fighting the good fight. @Sosewsue61 has some good ideas. I am just curious: are you considering going after your original surgeon? I wonder if he f*cked up.
  11. Same thing happened to me today except I managed to make it to the throne. I think it is just the body adjusting to higher amounts of protein and fewer carbs. Our bodies really don't like change that much. Just make certain that you are re-hydrating to replace lost fluids. This is incredibly unpleasant ... trust me, I know it sucks. When is your big day? Mine is on March 12th.

    It's days like these

@FluffyChix I'm not going to quit because I want this too badly. I spent six months of my life leading up to this point. It would be a shame to throw it all away,

Thanks guys! I'm just keeping my eyes on the prize.

    It's days like these

Thanks @Creekimp13. Trying to see the humor in this as well. Got a dream to work for Norfolk Southern railroad. Always wanted to work for the railroad since I was a kid. The only way to make this possible is to drop a 100 pounds.

Yeah, I am hanging in but only because I hate diabetes more than being overweight. I'm not gonna miss a chance to kick it to the curb.

    SURGERY DATE-April 3rd

I am one of those statistical outliers. The puree stage is going to be a challenge but I'll figure it out .... I always do. Cottage cheese and eggs are just nasty - I can't even get past the smell let alone texture.

    Pre Op

It was just a little shy of 6 months for me as well.

    Surgery Day(nervous)

This Is The End is perfect! It's the beginning of the end of obesity.
  19. With many thanks to @FluffyChix for reminding me about the importance of hydration, I've just added an app to remind me to drink. It's sad that it has gotten to this point but I think it may be a reason for me feeling the way I have been feeling through my pre-op diet. No more fooling around! Hydration!

    Very worried

This is an astute observation and I can personally attest to it. The battle is much more mental. I am on Day 7 of my 14 day pre-op diet and while I don't have physical hunger, the head hunger symptoms are real. My neighbors in my apartment complex must've whipped up a special dinner because all of the smells are wafting in my apartment. I don't feel physically hungry but man that food smells SO DAMN GOOD.
  21. Anyone else on the pre-op diet running to piss almost every hour? This started happening to me today and I am half way through the pre-op diet. Is this just the body letting go of the excess water being held from diets high in sodium? LOL! It's almost to the point where I don't want to be more than a few minutes from the toilet.

    Sorry if this is TMI

    128 now!
  23. Mattymatt

    Sorry if this is TMI

It's about that time to check again. At 5:00 it was 168.
  24. Mattymatt

    Very worried

Hydration is important. If your getting in more than 64 oz and you still feel good, you're fine. I need to get better about hydration so I downloaded an app to alert me to hydration time.

    Very worried

@logicwand But this OptiFast liquid only diet is tough enough. If the thought of those cream soups is nauseating, so be it. I am choking them down because if I didn't, I would not have enough shake mix.
