    Bloated and Can’t Eat.

If the surgeon gave you his cell, he really cares! So, make the call. It's better than getting worse over the weekend and ending up back in the hospital. He may even advise you to go to the ER out of an abundance of caution. Make the call ... please

    Bloated and Can’t Eat.

Have you put in a call to your surgeon?

    Apple Cider Vinegar Shots

Yeah, I googled a bit and I'm of the opinion that it is hogwash. Just another fad that came and went. So many fad diets out there ... geesh.

    Apple Cider Vinegar Shots

Why are you trying to take Apple Cider Vinegar shots?

End of Weight Loss? What Now?

Maintenance may actually be the hardest part of the whole journey. This is where I have struggled so mightily in the past. I would lose a lot of weight and then be unable to keep it off. I think I need a reason to keep the weight off beyond my health. At present I am unable to think of a reason to keep the weight off beyond the abstract notions of health and happiness. Maybe once I see what doors are open to me once I am not overweight anymore, I'll have a better idea.

    Highmark BCBS of PA

This highlights the entire problem with healthcare in America. Healthcare and capitalism don't mix - they never did and they never will.

    Scared thinking of canceling surgery

The band is more dangerous with higher complication rates than the gastric bypass and gastric sleeve. Most lap band patients also end up doing a revision surgery to bypass or sleeve. The success rate is not as good and fewer surgeons are performing this operation.

    Scared thinking of canceling surgery

Your fear is understandable because this is a life changing procedure that you are having done. With any change, there is some good and some bad. Overall, though, I believe that you will find the balance of the change to be good. You've come this far and it hasn't been easy to get here - Just Do It. I am only 4 days away now from mine and I am fully committed to getting it done.

    Mysterious phlegm?

Ah so that is what the foamies are called!

    My god......what have I done?

@FatGuy5000 I am also in Pennsylvania. Are you in the Philly area?
  11. There is a bright spark to this because your problem is a good one to have! Your position is a good one to be in because you're physically active and this is absolutely necessary for long term success. I wish I could say this would be my "problems." So, try taking your surgeon's suggestion and see how it goes. Report back because I'd like to be in your same shoes, lifting heavy and maybe doing some spin classes and, heaven fore fend, maybe actually run.

    Waiting is the worst part

@FluffyChix is right. For me the "fun" began on February 26th and probably won't end until March 26th at the earliest and that is IF I do not have any post-surgical complications. Surgery comes March 12th for me. Any person who thinks that surgery is the easy way out is just plain ignorant of the whole process. So yes, the waiting is the easiest part. Enjoy it.

    Weed smoking before surgery

I happen to think that we as a society need to get over this reefer madness bullshit. THC has some wonderful health benefits. I had a hit of some vaporized stuff on Monday night from one of my neighbors. Good god did it feel good to get some relief from the discomfort of this liquid diet. It was nice having a dreamless sleep. LOL! I slept so well that I actually had 0 sleep apneas that night and 0 air leaks which probably meant that I stayed in one place the whole night. I woke up rested.
  14. I tried to add my surgeon to my profile but she is not listed. Her name is Dr. Caitlin Halbert and she works for Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, DE; part of the Christiana Care Hospital System.

    (((APPROVED))) March 23

Dang that's right around the old corner. Mine's on March 12th. They tell you bring comfortable, lose fitting clothing. I hate those hospital gowns to I am going to pack two pair of sweats and some tees.

Where are my 5ft tall peeps at?

I wouldn't know what it's like to date a taller woman anyway. Short or tall it doesn't matter. My ex was all of 5'4". Her whole family wasn't very tall. I felt like godzilla come to Tokyo whenever we went to visit them.

    I hate eating out now!

In my case, I would probably both puke and have the drizzles because of the whole bypass dumping syndrome thingy.

Where are my 5ft tall peeps at?

That's funny. I am 6'4" and before I gained all of this weight, I used to get matched with women 5' - 5'5". No matches with any of the taller girls.

    I hate eating out now!

They don't call it "Golden Corral" for nothing. People go there to graze. For me that is, pun fully intended, a recipe for disaster.
  20. I ain't got **** for advice to offer anyhow. But I can commiserate. I am sure you've done the whole "measure yourself" thing. How're you feeling otherwise?

    I love coffee

Start slowly and be careful. If I were you, I would try a small sip of the caffeinated variety and see how you tolerate that. It would suck to have major reflux because you had 8 ozs.
  22. @Lufifi You just proved that the scale is only one indicator of weight loss! :-D Now, you need to start spreading the message!!!
  23. Mattymatt

    BIG Milestone!

Yay!!! For the win! Don't go out and buy too many pairs cuz before you know it, you'll be even less! :-)

    Not losing weight

Yeah, google bariatric surgery and the 3 week stall and you'll see you're not alone. :-D
