    My man said I cheated

I think I would probably not discuss weight loss with him. I would also recommend stopping defending yourself because he isn't getting it. I cannot understand some people. I actually like to cheer people on. It makes me feel better. Maybe it's time to trade your man in for a newer model.

I want to shut off email notifications

Yes. Go to the top of the home screen and locate your username and profile picture. Hit the drop down arrow next to your username, go to account settings, and choose notifications.

I think my depression is easing

    Absolutely! ODAT
  4. Yes, it isn't easy at all. Also, a lot the eating done in the evening is mindless. I remember from the behavioral classes that I had to take in the pre-op phase, the dietitians and psychologists said that eating needs to be a mindful behavior and when it is done at night, it is often mindless and done to fill up time.

    March-April Rny-ers

You got this! I wasn't really nervous either. I just wanted to get in, get it done, and get out.
  6. @Seahawks Fan It may take a bit but I think you'll find the sweet spot eating-wise. I don't like eating between meals because it throws me off. I think I am just going to stick to three a day and an afternoon snack. My aim is, once I restart food, is to do this and not eat after 7PM.
  7. The three week stall is fairly common. I know I am dreading my first stall.

    March Gastric Bypass Group

No, not really. I had dreams of donuts and soft pretzels last night. Now I KNOW that's a crazy dream because the two of them are almost mutually exclusive.

how long was your pre-op diet?

If I have one regret it is that I did not make any real serious efforts to lose weight up until the 2 week pre-op diet. The attempts were really going through the motions. Otherwise, things have been plugging along. I am really starting to crave food of a healthy variety. Protein shakes get older than dirt, very fast.

how long was your pre-op diet?

I had a 2 week OptiFast pre-op diet which was only liquids. It was pretty much a miserable rite of passage. Now, I am 10 days post-op and still on full liquids but it is not nearly as miserable because the liquids are filling, no hunger sensations, and I don't have to use OptiFast. I found OptiFast shakes to be foul stuff.

    Today is surgery day!

Good luck! It'll be over before you know it.

    Gas pain

The best thing you can do is keep walking. The only thing I can promise is that it does get better. I am 10 days post-op and both gas pain and incision pain are completely gone. I only get pain if I roll over in bed too fast on the sensitive right side. Other than that, life is peachy. :-D
  13. Okay, so I am down just a hair over 30 pounds from my heaviest and already my butt starts to ache if I sit too long. LOL! This is a problem I am loving to have.

    March 2018 Success Stories

Reduced from seven medications to two. Only need Remeron for depression and Omaprazole for stomach acid. I'd call that a solid win. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hunger returns??

Yes, the sensation is indeed quite a bit different. It feels like hunger but it's mild and not intolerable in the least. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. For now I'm sticking to the goal of getting 90-100g of protein in daily. This is what I understand the goal of my program to be. It just so happens that I'm at about 580 calories per day. Of course I'm still on full liquids. Calories may creep up a little one pureé starts. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Whoa...one week post-op check up

Isn't it amazing how quickly you start to see positive results after weight loss surgery? Feels great doesn't it!? I am only taking 2 medicines now: Remeron for depression and Omaprazole as precaution for stomach acid. Here is what I was taking pre-surgery: Lantus Insulin Victoza Glipizide Metformin Losartin (blood pressure) Baby Aspirin Remeron I am amazed that I went from 7 medicines to 2. This should be a significant money savings! It certainly is not easy. This just has a much greater likelihood of being permanent. And that is huge. I like 65% chances versus only 10% the other way.

My butt aches when I sit too long

I posted it because it is kind of funny and I figured it would give a few people a laugh.

    I’m like a little kid

LOL! I wish I was at pureed. I am still have a week of full liquids left. When I go to puree, I am really going to do my best to get my protein from food and not shakes. Initially, it may be very difficult because at my height, weight, and BMI, I need 100g of protein. But, I will try to make only 30g of that in the shake form.

    I’m like a little kid

That's an excellent food choice, @AshAsh1. I'll have to keep this one in mind.
  21. Those are some great non-food gifts, @Creekimp13!
  22. Thanks for sharing this! Good finds all around!!! I am going to have to pick up some of that sugar-free hershey's chocolate syrup. Never thought anything like that existed.
  23. I am a member of the heeb tribe so I don't normally celebrate Easter. This year I was invited to a little Easter gathering and I would like to go but I will be just starting pureed. Methinks it might not be good to be too far from home while adjusting to food again. What do you guys think? Should I go for it?

    Chocolate

You're in luck. There is an excellent product called Premiere Protein chocolate shake. That should nip that craving in the butt.
  25. I don't think your body went into shock but you were experiencing a blood sugar low. Lows are very unpleasant. When I started my liquid diet I was fully diabetic. The first days of the whole affair were definitely not easy. I had a few lows; less than 70. It got a little bit better when the endocrinologist had me stop insulin and Victoza. I hated every minute of the pre-op diet. The post-op 2 week full liquid diet has been so much easier because I am not only not hungry, but I've been taken off of Metformin so I feel *much better*. I have 8 days left on the 2 week post-op liquids and then can start pureed. Now, post-surgery, I am effectively in surgical remission. I still need to check my blood sugar a few times a day but the highest the numbers ever got was 133 last Monday. Mostly I am normal.
