Apparently I misunderstood the data I was being told. Thank you for correcting me because I really don't want to spread wrong information. That is statistically significant but still a minority.

As you get closer to goal weight, it get's harder and harder. Relative to me, you're within spitting distance of your goal weight. Just keep persevering and following your program. The stall will break eventually.

I did manage to get to the gym yesterday for a 15 minute workout. I think the best attitude towards the gym is to have both the desire to get physical activity and just to keep coming back. I am happy about the 15 minutes. Today, I am headed back. :-D Once I see the nurse practitioner at the beginning of next month, I will ask to see if I am cleared for weight training as this is equally important.

It should clear up soon. Whether you got sleeved or bypassed, you get intubated during surgery. This is often the cause of the hoarseness. I was hoarse for about a week.

I use Tylenol PM on occasion. It is not an NSAID, so it is okay to use in the short term. I am having a lot of trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I've heard tell that this not an uncommon experience while losing weight. Your hormones and endocrinology get a little bit out of whack. I am sure it will adjust some in the coming months.

Yes, Medicare does not deny. Since I am on disability, I have Medicare and used it to cover my surgery. The document, NCD 100.1, will provide you with the specific requirements for Bariatric Surgery. These will not vary from region to region as an NCD means National Coverage Determination.

I think it is only a very, very small fraction of a percent that get the surgery and have it not work; less than 1%. It is so small as to be statistically insignificant. The bottom line is that weight loss surgery works! But it only works if you follow your program's guidelines, track your intake, and get some form of physical activity. If you can do this, it is almost a foregone conclusion that you will lose weight, but the speed at which you lose can vary greatly as each person's body is unique. Weight loss surgery is a tool, not the magical answer.

Pain when swallowing
Mattymatt replied to Heaven1175's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same thing for a few days post-op. This could be caused by the irritation that being intubated causes. During the surgery, you are intubated for oxygen delivery and for an endoscopy if the surgeon does that as well. Mine did. I should go away. I know I was hoarse for several days. -
Are you following the prescribed diet carefully? People lose at different rates. Just keep your nose to the grindstone and persevere. The scale will move.

Favorite protein shake?!
Mattymatt replied to caitlynbailey1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My favorite has to be Premiere ... hands down. Premiere Protein tastes really good and smooth. The Chocolate and Vanilla flavors are the best. -
That's great! Congratulations!

I will get nausea if I am drinking water at room temperature. Cold water goes down okay. -
I guess I'm still queezy because I tried having some oatmeal as a snack and it came right up. I'm way behind on liquids. I'm going back to clears only now. Got to let the system recover. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app

I got some more sleep in after my lunch disaster and I feel more recovered now. I think I'll go to the gym this evening. -
It most certainly does hurt! I took a nap and my stomach just aches now. I am on liquids and puree for the rest of the day.

Yeah, there is a risk for clots when cholesterol is that high. Mine was high but still sub-therapeutic. They didn't prescribe any statins. Sent from my Z981 using BariatricPal mobile app
