Charlene, I will say prayers for you the IKE doesn't happen there. That would be scary. Ellen, just go slow with your fill and you should be fine. Hey Janet, how are you doing?I cleaned out closets today. I sure have alot of clothes to get rid of. Why am I scared to give them away? Also, when I shop it is real hard for me not to go to Womens plus departments and look. I went to Catherines for my new undies and of course I looked around. Beckyo:biggrin:

I have lost 35lbs so far. Have had one fill and maybe a fill next week. We will see. Sounds like everyone is doing well. I am happy with my weight loss but I also give myself credit because I work very hard with this program. Need to change my ticker soon but waiting until after Dr. next week. Beckyo:rolleyes:

Hey there Freedom, Yep we are neighbors:tt2:. I had my surgery done in Peoria with Dr. Stephen Marshall. I am doing great so far. When were you banded? You will find some great people on this thread and another thread is the Mentor thread with Indio. She just was on here a minute ago. She is the absolute greatest mentor anyone could have. Who did your surgery? Beckyo:lol: -

Hey Becky, Don't worry about keeping up weight loss with everyone else. Everyone looses differently. You are doing a great job. Just refocus and you will loose. We all have trouble keeping focused at times. Plus, Little Bit, I was banded on June 18th. I too was very nervous about the two week diet. I didn't think I could do that part. If you have the Protein drinks and stay completely away from sugar, your body won't crave it and you will be completely surprised. I had decaf coffee, unjury protein mix with water in am. Lunch was Isopure protein drink. Supper was unjury protein mix with water and I had alot of water and sugar free drinks in between. But that protein is very very important on the liquid stage. Hi tonight girls! today is Tuesday and doing good so far. After my first fill, I was on liquids for three days and then back to regular food. Yep, my undies and bra thing was great:thumbup:. I finally got around to taking my measurements a couple of weeks ago and will be anxious to see how that goes in a month. Yesterday I was hungry most of the day. today I had coffee, oatmeal, Protein bullet Breakfast, lunch was two slices of turkey with cheese wrapped around and a cucumber, tomato salad,. Supper was chicken breast, mixed vegetables. It seems like I can eat quite a bit also but I keep loosing. I walked 2.4 miles today. The way I walk is 60 seconds fast and twice that slower. I do that for 2.4 miles and man can I tell the difference than a regular walk. Anyway, Janet it is hot out there where you are:w00t:. Do you get in your pool alot. I sure would go jump in at night when I got home from work. I have 1.2cc in my size10 band. I go next Tuesday to dr. but don't know if I will get a fill or not. I would like to have another one but we will see. It was a beautiful fall day here today. Made it easier to walk. Long, congrats on your GREAT weight loss. Im not loosining:w00t:as fast as you but I'm still happy. Talk with you all tomorrow. Beckyo:shades_smile:

Hi girls (or guys) tonight (Sunday). Had a great day today. Did not take a walk but got the pool closed up for the winter and started cleaning out closets to fall clean. Kids all came over for dinner. I made spaghetti, garlic bread, mixed salad. It was soooo good. I had very little pasta but about 3/4 c meat sauce which I made and a salad (no bread). Janet, do you keep your pool open year round out there or do you have to close it up at some point for the winter? Just curious. My kids usually all come over every Sunday for dinner. Now I got alot of yard work to do since it has cooled down some. I like to do it when it is cool. Hey Long, congratulations on your 60:thumbup:. I can't wait to get there. It seems to be easier for me to loose weight in the winter than in the summer. I am way more active in summer but for some reason I seem to retain fluids all summer long. I went this weekend a bought a new bra and new undies. Tee hee:wink_smile:. Mine were too big. Ain't it great!!!! Well good luck to all newbies and oldies. We are all in this together. Signing off, Beckyo:smile:

thats great Janet, I hope I can get to that point eventually. Right now the exercise really makes me tired alot. I keep going. Some days its hard but I feel better already. Beckyo

Hi to everyone on the 50's thread tonight. I have had computer problems and wasnt able to post. I also can eat a whole cucumber at and a protein at one sitting. The other night I had half cup pork and beef roast, half cup mashed potatoes (no gravy) half cup of cauliflower with a little cheese at one dinner setting with no problem. I hope I am not overeating. I am being very consious of what I am eating and I never overeat anymore at all. Beckyo:thumbup: -
Hi everyone tonight (Saturday). I haven't been able to post again since I have had computer problems so I hope it is straightened out now cause I missed everyone. I have been reading though. I had to have my computer reset just to be able to post here. Anyway sounds like everyone is doing okay and going along pretty well. I am still eating the usual way and I am still walking 2.4 miles every day or at least every other day. Now it is starting to get a little easier. In a week I go back to Dr and dont know if I get a fill or not. I have now lost 35 lbs. I am loosing pretty steadily. Yesterday I came home from errands, warmed up a hamburger, put it on light wheat bread (which I don't eat that much) took two bites and my first real stuck:scared2:. It hurt like $#*@&!^. I felt like I couldn't breathe and I got all sweaty. I jumped up and walked around. Then I took a sip of Water which I read I should not do. Man, I thought I was going to have to go to hospital. It scared me:thumbdown:. Last night I went out to dinner and had eggplant which was delicious. Anyway, doing okay so far. Talk with you all later Beckyo:crying:

But Indio, we do have to do alot of the work ourselves. I have not allowed myself to overeat since I had surgery and I definitely don't want to be sick all the time. I am still loosing. I lost 8 lbs in August and total is 33 since June 13 which averages 3 lbs a week. I am very very happy with that. I would just like to feel full in between meals for long periods of time. I do pretty well as long as I don't wait too long to eat but man, if I do wait too long, then I need something fast to eat. I have been a very good girl with sugars. I havent touched anything with sugar at all and if it was it was very low in sugar. I am also laying low with carbs. All in all, I am pretty focused because I feel like you Janet, I am not going to waist this surgery either. As far as the walking goes I think part of it is because its so damn hot out and I think I will slow down a little and see if that helps because you are right, This is what stopped me before. I got soo tired from walking that all I wanted to do was go home and rest ALL DAY. I am tired but I am also recouping alot faster now. Beckyo:w00t:

Hi everyone tonight (Monday). I have been off for a few days because my computer was whacked out. Now I have it fixed and can post again. I read the last five pages to get caught up. On the bread issue, i have not eaten alot of bread and I did get a few stuck feelings but nothing really serious. I don't seem to have problems with anything even if I don't chew well. I have a problem with slowing down. Anyway my next appt is Sept 16. I think I can eat too much but don't really know for sure. I hope to get a second fill then but we will see. I continue on with walking and selecting my food carefully. Anyway, sounds like you girls are all doing okay so I will sign off for tonight. talk with you all later.:tt2: Beckyo -
Hi everyone tonight (Monday). I haven't posted for a few days because I was having major problems with the computer. It is finally fixed so now I can join in again. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well this labor day weekend. I have been walking. Yesterday I went swimming and today I walked 2.4 miles. I did the fast, slow thing. It was 90 out and I was beat when I got done. I have been very tired all day from that little outing. Then I went got groceries. Had family over for dinner. Today I had coffee, oatmeal w skim milk for B, L was turkey sandwich on light bread, supper was salad, corn on cob, ribs (2 small). I ate all of that. Should I be able to eat that much at one sitting? My next Dr appt is Sept 16th. It is true I am not eating nearly what I used to but the walking is also a big part of it. I guess what I am trying to say is that this does take work on the lapbanders part. This is where I had trouble before with loosing. I would walk two miles every day and was extremely tired from it and was hard to keep up. Maybe I should slow down. I did attack that issue. Glad to hear everyone is fine. BeckyO:tt1:

Welcome new bandsters, This is a good place to be. OkieChick, don't be afraid. It is going to be great for you. We are all scared of the unknown! It will be just fine. As far as hunger right out of the hospital, I did not have that at all so all I can say is keep up with the liquids and be patient. Beckyo -
Hi to all tonight! It is Wednesday evening and I did not have a very good day. Had coffee, protein bullet, lunch was 2 oz chicken and a tomato cucumber salad. then about hour after that I proceeded to get out the chips and dip:angry:. then I left for a while, went and had nails done, got a new drivers license, etc. , came home at 7pm and made fish (had 5 oz of that) and cauliflower with light cheese on it. I drank all my water but I didnt walk today. I was kind of drifting around today. I started thinking that this is hard, but for me, it really isn't that hard, but it can be boring. Plus, I have been queezy lately for a few days off and on. Don't know what thats about:crying:. Does anyone else have problems with that? Plus, I do seem to have alot of bm's. Is that normal? I think thats why Im queezy. Its not that bad, it just feels like morning sickness. God knows it isn't that! I got to realize that this takes time and patience. I have been doing soo good. I cant believe I ate chips today. I don't even crave chips at all. Only had a handful though. Enough of this. Hows everyone else doing?:biggrin2: Beckyo:drool:

I'm glad you keep posting Janet. I feel like you are my next door neighbor. I wish you were. We could have fun. I lilke everyone one this forum though. We sure do have alot to talk about at times. Beckyo -
Talk about breaking old habits. I am really breaking old habits since the band. I don't crave junk food so far. I just don't think I am getting in enough calories on most days. But, if you arent hungry then what? I eat till comfy like I was told to do and the rest of the time, I decide whether it is head hunger, boredom or real hunger and go from there. I know that if I wait too long to eat and get to the starving mode, then I don't do well or feel well. The walking does make me tired but with the way I am eating and exercising I would think the weight would be falling off of me alot. It is falling off pretty well and I am very happy with my achievements so far but it is a strange thing to figure out, this band. glad to hear everyone is doing well tonight, Beckyo:thumbup:

I did a two mile walk today and man I went fast. I don't think I am getting enough calories in but I wasn't hungry today at all. BEckyo:smile: -

Hi to all tonight, When I spoke of the politicians being in my town, thats merely all I said. I say the traffic is bad in Springfield that day. Otherwise nothing else mentioned. Myself, I don't care to talk politics either. Anyhow I had a good day today (Monday). Have been feeling queezy for some reason. So far my first fill seems to be working okay. I don't really feel that different than before though. I did alot of reading on different threads last night. Man there sure is alot of bandsters telling their stories. I think this is a great way to meet people and learn lap band experiences. There is a wealth of information on here. Glad everyone is doing okay this week. Beckyo:rolleyes2: -
Hi all tonight, Today is Sunday. I had coffee and oatmeal for breakfast, Went on a two mile walk/jog, stopped at the store, came home, had an Isopure and a salad for lunch. Today is my bday so my daughters cooked hamburgers on grill, salad, corn on cob and mixed vegetables. I had hamburger, no bread, salad, half c corn. Was full but then came bday cake. I had a sliver of ice cream cake. That was the first real sugar thing I had since being banded. I could have gone without it but my kids wanted me to have a small piece. After eating all of that, I am full but not stuffed. Should I be able to eat that much after a fill. I didn't go overboard though. Hey, I have a brahmin purse. I love mine but it is big. I also am going to smaller purse because of my shoulders and back. I have always carried a large bag so going small is hard for me. Do you girls know that my hubby has not even asked me if I have lost weight or how much since I have had this done. I mean come on! My girls told me today that I am starting to get curves again.. We sure do work hard for this weight loss but worth it. Beckyo:tt2:

Long I agree with you. I have never seem soo much security and road closings from the airport to downtown. I mean everything down there was closed off except one corner and you had to stand in long long line just to go through security one by one. Can you imagine 35,000 going thru one security area. It was crazy and it was very HOT today and there was a blues and barbeque festival down there today taboot. Beckyo -

Hi everyone, first of all good luck to all of you new bandsters. Don't be afraid of afterwards. I was terribly scared and I had all kinds of crazy thoughts going thru my head (we all do) but its great now. You do need to have plenty of Protein drinks on hand for after. Something I don't ever do is take my measurements. I need to do that also. I am down about 31 lbs but I think tomorrow I will take all of my measurements and see how that goes. It amazes me how when I read all of these different threads the huge difference in how much people loose throughout the process and how very different everyones fills work. I think at times it is hard to know if your fill is working or not. I do know that we do get fuller on less food now but it it is a unique experience for each and every person. Enough of that, today Barack Obama came to Springfield where I live to announce his vice if he wins, and boy was it crowded in town. TV says there were 35,000 people downtown and it sure looked like it. Everyone wants to see a piece of history being made. Well talk with ya all later. Beckyo:thumbup: -
Hi everyone tonight. We had a very very busy day in Springfield today. Senator Barack Obama formally announced his vice if he gets it. It was 90 here and very humid. Our downtown area had 35,000 people here watching a piece of history. Anyway I had coffee breakfast, mid morning I had two string cheese then at lunch a one egg salad (no bread). then I took a very fast walk with sis. We went to Sams club for some groceries. Grazed through there with a few samples that I could have (she had it all). It was mostly meat samples. Drank a protein drink throughout the day and also had two liters water. I got home, put groceries away, then I sliced a cucumber and tomato with a little dressing and that was supper. I feel like I am stuffed and didn't have that much today at all. Oh and Janet, that dinner I had out last night was an appetizer. I don't know what to think about this fill. I don't really feel that much different than before but then again I don't try to overeat. I eat till comfy and then quit. I have not had any problems with anything yet. Beckyo:lol:

Hi to all tonight. Well it is Friday evening late. Just read about your GS, Janet. That is scary and I am glad to hear he is doing fine. Just keep eye on him for a few days and see. I have been sick with a cold these last few days so haven't walked for two days. tonight I went out to dinner with my sister. This is first day with real Protein since my fill. I had eggplant parmesean as an appetizer (which was two slices of eggplant). It was good. I was starving and I ate it all. It was soft so not hard protein. I thought it would not be near enough at the time. Left the restaurant, went shopping and have been fine for the whole evening. I don't know how much restriction I have yet with this first fill. I had oatmeal for Breakfast, one egg salad with no bread for lunch and some mixed vegetables. We will see. Beckyo:thumbup:

Hi to everyone tonight! Well I am on day two with Clear liquids. I am glad I got on here early and looked to see what you all had to say about that. I am STARVING:cursing:. I went and walked 1.2 miles today and just didn't feel like going around again. Plus, my throat hurts and I am not feeling well because ragweed season is here. I am going to have some tomato Soup tonight cause I can't stand it any longer. I went two full days on clear liquids. This is hard but I keep going. The good news is that I am down 31 lbs. Every time I get on the scale I think it is unbelievable and it is going to go up but so far so good. I am thrilled with what I have accomplished. As far as vegetables go, alot of the time I get a bag of frozen mixed (brocolli, cauli, carrots) vegetables, add a little olive oil, some Mrs. Dash and bake. Man they are good that way. My whole family likes them that way. I have been eatin a fresh cucumber and tomato skinned every day for lunch with a little spray dressing. Gotta eat those fresh things while in season! thanks for all the good advice. Talk with you later. Beckyo:angry:
