ElaineC, hi hope you are doing better on liquids. Are you getting in enough protein? That protein for me helps me stay full very well. Also, I found that since I don't eat sugars I am way less hungry. I am on mushies and am not terribly hungry but I do try and follow the rules ( no drinking before or after meals and getting in my protein. I just can't think of many mushies to eat. I find that when I eat something a little more on the solid side I stay fuller longer (like potatoes or oatmeal). This is just my experience. Good luck to you. Just keep trying. Beckyo:thumbup: -

Hi fifties group. I have been posting on Janets mentor thread so haven't been here as much. I am still on mushies for two more weeks but so far so good. I will not weigh again until Wednesday so don't know if I lost this week or not. can't wait to see. Indio, did I read that you get stuck on Watermelon. How so? Isn't that like a mushie? How will the Dr. know how much to put in on my first fill and how will he know if I need one or not? I got my ticker but I don't know where to paste it to. Can anyone help with that. Anyway it sounds as if everyone is going along okay. I don't know what to eat for mushies exactly. Got any good ideas. Will write later Beckyo:tt2: -
Hi to everyone tonight. Janet, I live in Springfield, Illinois. Normally this time of year it is sweltering hot but we have had a pretty mild summer with alot of rain and that is why my garden is so beautiful, (the rain.) Anyway I go out in the morning after breakfast and usually I forget to come back in until late afternoon unless it is too hot. then I go swimming. Today I went over to the park and walked 1.2 mile. My d went 3 miles but I can only do one right now. She made us a smoothie in the bullet for breakfast (consisting of one yogurt, half banana, 5 strawberries, half peach and scoop of strawberry unjury with some ice.) It was pretty good. At lunch I had half can of tomato soup and a bullet. Tonight I had half cup of cottage cheese, applesauce. I am on mushies but I can't really figure out what to have. I have had cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes. Thats all I can think of thats mushie. Today is beginning second week on mushies. I will look on food thread and see what they eat. By the way, where do I paste my ticker at? Thanks Beckyo:lol::thumbup:

Hi to all tonight on the 4th of July. Janet, I gotta tell you that I haven't weighed for two days. Am trying to wait until Wednesday. THis morning I had cup of decaf coffee, cup of oatmeal and a bullet for breakfast. Went and worked in my garden most of the day. Moved some plants and planted about 10 new ones. then I went to Lowes and looked for carpet. Came home, had a strawberry unjury (not my fav) with skim milk. Drank water before and after supper. I had a half cut of tomato soup with a few crackers in it and I am full. Am going to eat some applesauce before bed time but I am beat today. Worked hard today in the yard. I had to reschedule my post op appt to next week. I really don't know if I am restricted or not. I know I'm not all that hungry but it seems like I can eat fairly well. Its really wierd. I sure hope this band works for me as I am concentrating very hard on this program. Man Janet, I don't know if I will ever be able to exercise like you. I am pretty active but you have really pumped it up. Good for you. Talk to you tomorrow. Beckyo:tt1::thumbup:

Hi Janet and everyone, Well tomorrow is my doctors post op visit. I have two more weeks of mushies to go. Yesterday I had a Unjury with milk and half cup of oatmeal for breakfast, half cup of cottage cheese for lunch and sf pudding, snack a protein bullet and then supper I had two scrambled eggs with melted cheese on top, later natural applesauce..I finally had a bm which made me feel better. First one since band on June 18. In between that I tried to get a couple bottles of water in. Anyway I am anxious to see what the doc says. I have to go one hour away. It almost seems like there is no band in me. I haven't tried to eat anything I am not supposed to though so really don't know. The nutrionist says not to worry about weight loss much until my six weeks of healing are up. Man sure does seem like a long time. I made shish ka bobs , baked potateo, salad and fresh strawberries with shortcake for dinner on Sunday and all I had was a half of baked potato with fake butter and low fat sour cream I am like you Janet. I love real butter. I will be glad when I can have coffee. Well hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th and we all keep loosing. Beckyo

Welcome Roustabout to a great bunch of lapbanders. I really enjoy this thread and am sure you will do very well with your lapband. My weight a week ago Sunday was 234.6 and today (Monday) it is 232.6. Yes I have lost two pounds but for the last five days I have played with the same 4-6 oz. I started mushies on Saturday and maybe thats why. I just don't understand how they say we have no restriction for the first six weeks if our stomach was banded from the size of a football to the size of a walnut. I really havent been that hungry but am trying to get in all protein and some extra food. today is the first day I have even been a little hungry since being banded on the 18th. I really don't know what to try and eat mushie wise because I don't want anything to get stuck and I don't want to get sick. I have eaten cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, soups, baked potato and thats about all I have tried so far on top of the protein drinks. With so few calories I would think this weight would just fall off but I also think it hangs on to everything. I see that others are going thru this in the first six weeks also so I won't worry too much about it but there is no way I could get 900 calories in yet but will keep trying to add. Any comments? Beckyo:rolleyes: -
Hi Janet, Glad to hear your back. Did you learn anything new regarding lap band? Well I started mushies on Saturday. So far I've had cottage cheese, pudding, baked potato, scrambled eggs. I have I weighed 239 morning of surgery (18th) and this morning I weighed 232.6. Okay So on Sunday of last week I weighed 234.6. Have gone up and down about 4-6 oz all week.Is this normal. Have lost two pounds. My question is, I don't really have a huge appetite at all right now. today is Monday and this is the first day I've been a little hungry so if I am not eating that much, then why have I slowed down? Is it because I am constipated or is it because I am reintroducing food into my system. I have been playing with the same 4 oz. for about five days now. If my appetite isn't very big now, then when I am filled it will even be less, right? I am walking about 1.2 miles every other day or working in the garden for at least four hours everyother day. Now I am not too far out yet since surgery so I am not getting to ruffled about it now but others have lost quite a bit more than me and just wondered if this sounds normal to you. Also, I am afraid to eat. first of all I dont want to pb and second how can there be no restriction in the first six weeks if they make your stomach from the size of a football to the size of a walnut? I dont understand how there would be no restriction with that? Need some advice. thanks Beckyo:cursing:

Well hello everyone, Today was the first day of mushies. I don't know what to think. Today I had an unjury drink with skim milk, lunch is 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. Wasn't hungry for the rest of the day. I drank two bottles of water, then later I had an orange drink with some protein in it. Tonight I had a 1/2 cup tomato soup and about 3 tbsp applesauce. I had my surgery on June 18th. My weight loss has slowed down a little. and I am attributing that to putting food back into my system since the preop stage.:confused: My question is, am I doing okay with food. Not too much to eat. I don't seem to be eating a whole lot but I am only in the second week since surgery. Also, I can not get in all fluids, food and protein as of yet. I guess this is a progressive stage. Well I just wanted someone to tell me that I am doing okay food wise. If I drink a protein drink, then I can't eat much food so thats what I am getting at. Beckyo:confused: -

Hey Phyl, Glad to here Janet made it okay. Thanks for the update. Well I went to TGIF tonight and ordered a brocolli cheese Soup and I only ate half. That was great. Hope everyone is doing okay. I quit getting on the scale so I don't know if I lost today or not. Trying to weigh only once a week but it is hard. I don't go for my post op until July 3 so we will see. Beckyo -
Hi to everyone, I too was banded on June 18th, and am doing wonderful. I only had three days of clear after surgery and then one week of full liquids for one week. Tomorrow is mushie day for me for three weeks. I have lost 7 lbs since the 18th so I think I am doing pretty good. Not having much bm though. Everyone seems to react different to this band. I went to TGIf tonight for dinner and ordered a bowl of brocolli cheese Soup and ate half. Well good look to everyone for the weekend. Beckyo:tt2:

Yes my doctor did say I could lay in the pool but not swim. Isn't tht crazy. I was not comfortable with getting my incisions wet so probably won't do that too often for the next four weeks. Tomorrow I start on mushies. I don't know what I'll have yet but can't wait. I will write more later. Beckyo:redface: -
Hi to all Jazzy Junes. Sounds like everyone is doing good so far. I looked at the chart and it looks good. I gotta get on this. today is day nine for me since surgery. Full liquids are going down just fine and I'm getting hungry. Saturday I start mushies. I feel like I am in starvation mode. I have lost 7.2 since surgery on June 18 and and 9 preop so as of today I am down 16.2. Well good luck to everyone this week. See ya later Beckyo:tt2:

Well I am no expert yet but yes, I think your fill is too tight from the sounds of it. I would go back and see him. Indio, you look great. You are a real inspiriation to this thread and to this site for that matter. congratulations on all of your hard work. Now to keep it off is the hard part but you will do good. Hey Phyl, I finally found a WII today at Walmart. There were five over there tonight. Can you believe it. IT was supposed to be for my grandson but I don't know now. Phyl I can't believe you would still loose five a month with no fill. I am nine days out now and still on full liquids. My weight has slowed down a little now. Saturday I get mushies for three weeks so we will see. I think my body thinks it is in starvation mode. Does that make sense. Once I get a fill I hope to start having a regular weight loss. IF I lost 2 a week I would be thrilled but don't know yet. I walked 1.2 miles today for the first time and my shins hurt tonight. I also got in the pool today. It is a little soon but I feel good so far. Well talk to you girls tomorrow. Good luck to everyone else with their bands or pre band this week. Beckyo  -
Hey Janet, Way to go girl:thumbup:. You should be on the TV commercials. You are a perfect mentor. I really get alot out of your information. In fact when I lose my 100, I think I'll come to Palm Springs and visit you. Ha ha. You know, maybe meet some stars, etc. :shades_smile:I can't believe how good you have done at this. I Looked at your fish recipes on the 50's site. Sound good. I also stopped weighing day and night because yes i am going crazy up and down.I am constipated also but really there isn't that much going in yet. Anyway this is day nine for me and I am doing great. I took a mile. 2/10 walk today and I also layed in the pool today for a while which was wonderful. Saturday is my first day on mushies for three weeks so we will see how that goes. I am still on full liquids but really feel bloated. YOUR WAIST IS SOOO SMALL.:thumbs_up::thumbs_up: What size is that very cute dress? Were you going to see "AHonkaTonk" or what. Anyway you have alot to be proud of so stay on here with us so we can feel like you. Talk to ya all later. good luck to eveyone just going for their surgery. Becky0:w00t:

I see the lapband police are on tonight. Well today is day six. Doing good so far. Have been eating that lucious cream of brocolli chees soup and wonderful tomato soup. Man I never knew that stuff could taste so good b ut it does. This feeling is wierd. I feel hungry but I get full. My weight stayed the same today as yesterday. First time. One week before surgery I weighed 248. Morning of surgery, 239. This morning, 232.6. Tonight I have a little indigestion (think it is due to brocolli gassing me up) ya know. I have had pudding, yogurt and unjury. Well thats it for now. Yesterday and today is the first time I've felt a little tired. I hope I keep loosing. Can't start exercising yet (too soon). Anyway I hope everyone is doing good with the band or the band to be. I dont go to the doc until 7-3 and will be interested in what he has to say. Check in tomorrow with you all. thanks for everything. Beckyo:tt2: -

Hi tonight, Hey I saw some of your gals are AT@T people. I worked 15 years there got married again, had a daughter and then twins in three years and went out on an early retirement as a byout back in 85. My dh is still employed there and currently has 28 years in. Anyway today is day five after surgery. Doing great. Starting to get hungry. Sure can't eat too fast though. that is a hard habit to break. Am getting more Protein in now. Was down another 1.8 this morning but back up .8oz tonight. Oh well. thats about it for tonight. talk to ya all later. Beckyo:tt2: -
Hi to all , today is day four for me and I am doing great. For all of you that are scared to death, it is okay to be afraid. I was very scared, not of the surgery but the lap band. It has been pretty good for me so far. I had a couple of uncomfortable days and today is just great for me. Now to cathychatts, I think it was you or someone sent me something to start recording my information and weight and I must have erased it. Anyway could someone send me another one so I can get on. thanks a lot Beckyo:thumbup:

Hi everyone, I am now four days out and had a much better day today. Alot of gas gone and am feeling better. Went to grocery store and had dinner with my kids and dh at our house. They made a nice salad, cut up potatoes with butter and seasonings on the grill and barbecued pork steaks. then they made pineapple upside down cake. It looked good. I sat at the dinner table with everyone and had a 1/4 cup of brocolli cheese soup mixed with a little skim milk and it was so delecious. Today so far I have had one cup unjury with 1/2 water, 1/2 skim milk, then I had half of a yogurt later, then had the soup. I was very full at dinner. Have only gotten in one 16 oz glass of water. Should I be starting on this three meals a day thing during the full liquid stage. I was just going to work through this until I get on mushies. Beckyo Someone help me make a ticker please? -
Hi Janet, I go back to doc ten days from last Wed. Today is Sunday, day 4 and I am feeling much much better. I am tired tonight and it has been hard getting all in. So far today I had half cup of unjury chocolate mixed half Water and half skim milk, then late I had half cup of strawberry unjury same way. Went grocery shopping and came home and had half of yogurt. then later on had 4/5 spoonfuls of brocolli cheese Soup. Felt overly full afterwards but am better now. I think alot of gas is gone and I am a little more comfortable. Was done about one and half pounds this morning. Talk with you later Beckyo:tt1:

Hi to everyone tonight. I am now three days out this evening. I have had ice, water, vegetable broth, half cup of unjury twice and an italian ice.Do you all think I am getting enough in? It only about one fourth cup servings so far. I walked all through my garden today which is about an acre or a little less. Watered some flowers. Took a shower and got all cleaned up. I am having alot of gas and diahera. I am assuming it is due to the surgery. I still have alot of pressure in the middle of my chest but am trying to work through it as it does hurt. It does seem to get a little better each day though. Tomorrow I start on full liquids so am anxious to see how that goes. Janet, I too am a WW fan. I think it is a good plan to follow. I have had no pain medicine today but think I will take some tylenol tonight. My incisions I can deal with, its the chest pressure that hurts. I am curious. I have five incisions. One larger one and the rest are smaller ones. how many did you gals have? Beckyo:wub: The good news is I am loosing every day. I need a ticker now. -
Hi Janet, I am end of day 3 and still have alot of pressure in the middle of my chest. I am assuming it is gas. Also i have alot of gas and diahrea right now. In reading around, I find that I cannot get in the Protein or Water right now. Of course only 3 days. Maybe I get too anxious. I try to get in as much as I can but it is still hard. Im going over to the 50's thread to see whats happening. Talk with you all later. Beckyo:cursing:

Hi all, beginning day 3 after lapband. Janet I really like what you write. You are a real inspiration and Phyl I am glad to hear there is life after lapband because I felt the same way as her. I still have a heavy feeling in my mid chest. I have a disc problem in the middle of my back so I hope that doesn't aggravate the band area. I started at 247.6 and this morning I weighed 237.6 so I am loosing about a lb a day right now. Yeah!!!! Well will write back tonight. Thanks girls for all of your inspiration. I read and read and read everything I can. It helps me get through all of this. This thread is the greatest. Beckyo -
