on 8/19/2018 I will be 8 months post op and I am so grateful I made the decision to undergo gastric bypass. The journey post op started out with many regrets, but 92 lbs later and I am rejoicing. Started out with a 44.5 BMI and am now down to 29.6 HW:270 SW:265 CW:178 GW:160

Had my procedure (RNY) on December 14, 2017, will officially be 5 months po next week. I have lost a total of 74 lbs. Completely ecstatic to finally make it to 1nderland. The last time I was under 200 lbs was when my daughter was 10 months old, she's now 8 going on 9.

3 mo. post RNY

Wow, two days away!!!!! Good luck on Wednesday -
So last week, March 14, 2018, marked my 3 month post op anniversary and I am very happy with my results thus far. 58 pounds down :-) Very close to onederland. So excited for the road ahead.

I am 8 weeks post op from my RNY. The first 3 weeks were brutal, however, sooooo worth it :-). So far I have lost 40 pounds and for the past two weeks I have been going to the gym everyday during lunch and every day during the weekend. I'll either take a zumba, boxing, cycling or aqua workout class. Also, now that I can eat more I consume a lot of grains, yogurt and tofu. I have cut meat out of my life. I am so happy with my results and cannot wait to keep going.

How long were you off work post-op?
ewilliams4491 replied to tuckersmom's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had RNY on December 14, 2017 and had 6 weeks off. Just went back to work on 1/25/18. I’m at a desk all day but I run a very busy desk so time goes by and I forget to eat or drink water. Grateful I had that time off to train myself to drink the required amount of water. -

Regrets, I feel like Gastric Sleeve Surgery has been the biggest mistake of my life

I have and I was instructed to take my pain meds and try to drink 4 ounces every hour. Don’t be afraid. Everyone has a different experience and I’ve read some really great experiences. I have to just push through my pain, but it is getting better. The first 5 days were brutal but this morning I did drink 3 ounces without taking my meds and I didn’t feel any pain. Took my meds and drank another 2 easily. -

I can take in 16 ounces a day but I have to take a percocet before I even try to drink any water. And I take my pain pills every 4 hours. -

First I want to give you a big hug. I know exactly what you’re going through, the only difference is as soon as I take a percocet I feel better. But I literally have to take it every 4 hours. I had RNY on Thursday and had to stay until Sunday. And even then I fibbed and said I was able to drink 4 ounces, but to this day I cannot do it. I regretted it so much because I’m in constant pain and discomfort. And let’s not talk about the nausea. Hopefully it gets better for you. Please keep us updated. -
Surgery 12/27 getting nervous
ewilliams4491 replied to camopink27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi there. I had bypass two days ago and I had the same jitters before my procedure. I still went through with the surgery despite my fears because I kept thinking of my longe term goal. And recovery is not fun AT ALL but I can say that it was all worth it. Good luck to you -
I’m home now. 7 days of liquids, diluted protein shakes, 4 ounces every hour and then 1 month of puréed meals. This is going to be tough
-
So I’m two days post-op from my gastric bypass. Still in the hospital because I am not able to hold down more than 3 ounces of liquids. I am able to get up and walk around and there is zero pain from the incision sites (I have 5 of them). The only discomfort I am experiencing is from gas. Just today I was finally able to start passing gas and what a relief it was.

Wish you a speedy recovery
