I hope that your situation gets better and you're able to eat more soon! You're doing great too! I haven't even thought about making protein cookies or anything. Maybe I'll try making those so I can still have some treats around Christmas time. Don't get discouraged! I wish I could offer more help but I'm still new to all of this

With some things, mostly chicken. They put me on acid reflux medication. Are you on that too? Our tummies are still healing so keep that in mind. Have you tried mashed potatoes? About a week and a half ago that was the only thing I could keep down. Now I'm bad and eat a few French fries now and then lol

How far out of surgery are you? I can't tolerate veggies yet. Are you still drinking protein shakes?

Feeling no restriction at all :(

I was sleeved on the 11th, so we are kindaaa close together. I am the same way right now but with water!! I hate it and have to really be in the mood to drink it. I have started to dislike the Bariatric Advantage protein powder, so I've switched over to Premier Protein and the Slimfast generic brand.

Sleevers who had a lower BMI...

I got sleeved on Oct 11. I'm 5 ft even and went from my highest weight (220) to my 186. I've been at a stall for about a week and half now. I was told that weight loss would be slower for us and that as long as we stay patient, it will come off. My goal is 130 too! I saw on another post that someone reached their goal weight in 7 months Seeing progress like that kind of frustrates me because I'm not losing that fast. But I know we can do it! What are you eating and do you go to the gym??

Just focus on you and tune the negativity out. This site has been a great support system and we are all rooting for you! This surgery will only make you stronger. Your surgery date is pretty soon so you are almost there. I started seeing the benefits of the sleeve as soon as I got home and I hope that you do too. I wasn't able to walk very much due to being overweight and having asthma but now I can walk and jog without getting tired. We all know you are not lazy. Getting this surgery done takes a lot of work and time! Do what is best for you and focus on bettering yourself. And when he sees you improving, maybe it will push him to improve too. And if not, just enjoy your new healthy lifestyle without him!

    October 12 - a new beginning

I was sleeved on the 11th and have only been walking. I'm scared to over exert myself since I've been getting tired easily. What are you planning to do at the gym? I'm hoping to start going in about two weeks.

I was sleeved the 11th, down from 220 to 186. I had a stall about a week and a half ago. I was eating a lot of string cheese and when I cut that out, it helped. I started drinking Gatorade since I got tired of water and Crystal Light. Is anyone eating solids yet? I've been able to eat meat without any problems.
  9. Starting weight was 220, now I'm down to 186. I'm 4 1/2 weeks out and can keep most foods down. I drink one Premier Protein shake and one generic shake a day. I had my first stall about a week ago but I think that was because I wasn't getting enough protein or exercising. Although I haven't really been walking, I'm hoping that my uptake of protein will help me lose a bit more weight. My goal weight is 140 so I have quite a bit to go!

Is he scared of the changes you will go through? My fiancé didn't have a problem with the surgery, but when my mom had hers done, my dad was a jerk. I think it is because he was scared of the changes my mom was going to go through (physically and mentally) and was becoming jealous. She had surgery years ago, and he still is like that. You don't need the added stress of your situation, so maybe explaining to him exactly why you need/ want surgery will help him understand.

    Regretting my surgery.

Hey! I had surgery on the 11th and I'm 19 too. I understand a lot of what you are going through. Maybe we can talk to each other and be bariatric buddies. I am thinking about going to therapy too. We just went through a lot, emotionally and physically. I think going to therapy would definitely help. And if you are not feeling up to going out, I suggest just simply sitting outside. I go sit on my bench in my yard and it does wonders. Lets you think and very relaxing.

    Finally Started to Excercise

That's awesome that you are back at the gym! I'm 3 1/2 weeks out so I haven't been able to go but am definitely looking forward to it. How do you feel? Any discomfort?
  13. Hi there! I was 206 lbs day of surgery, and 220 two weeks prior to that. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks post op and weigh 189.2. Sometimes I get a little discouraged that I'm not losing weight fast like most people do, but I have to remember that I was at a different starting point than others. But still, it seems that I am enduring my first stall and I can't help but feel a little down. I just ordered myself a new outfit so I'm hoping that it perks me up! lol

    8 hrs Post Op

Yay! I know being in the hospital really sucks, but make sure not to push yourself. Have they told you to start walking yet?

    Working out post-op

I had my two week check up this past Friday and they told me to stick with walking, yoga, cardio... and when I am at 6 weeks post op, I can do whatever workout I want. They did tell me to stay away from doing any core exercises since my tummy is still a little tender. Don't push yourself and make sure to stay hydrated. Best of luck to you!
  16. I'm 3 weeks post op and tried drinking with a straw yesterday. I had no issues with it. I haven't tried soda yet but have been craving a Big Red. I suggest try it at home and if it does not irritate your tummy, have a little at the wedding but don't over do it!
  17. I've been having issues with this too. And since my incisions are still healing, it hurts when the slimes come up. Even broth has been causing it. I absolutely hate it.

    Beginner looking for a buddy

I had my surgery last Wednesday. I had a bad experience with the nurses at the hospital, so I would definitely say to not let them push their ideas on you and don't make them force anything on you. Staying at the hospital was the worst part for me. The constant beeping of the machines, being checked on every 30 minutes, and the food tasted horrible which discouraged me to try eating (heads up- they told me that I had to consume 40 ounces before I could go home so be prepared because you will definitely not want to eat after surgery). Once I got home, I was able to recover much faster. Don't skip your meds and don't try to eat anything before they give you the go ahead! Hope this helps!

    Hello everyone!

Awesome job! I just had surgery on the 11th so we are in the same boat! On full liquid diet and I hate it But I'm going to try your chocolate and peanut butter idea! I've been sticking with broth, jello, water, and protein shakes. Maybe we can keep each other motivated! Feel free to message me!

    Open to be a mentor

I'm in need of some motivation! I had my sleeve done on Oct 11, 2017. I was 206 lbs and now I am at 201 lbs. I have been drinking nothing but water, protein shakes, and broth. I really thought that I would lose more weight. I'm feeling very discouraged. I'm so tired of not eating anything. I feel hungry all the time and I'm worried that I won't lose as much weight as I thought I would
