OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
kandywolf replied to RomAnca's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow! What. Transformation! Can you tell me your beginning weight was and what you weigh now? You should be proud of the wsy yoh look, and I hope that you reach your goal weight soon! your wedding pictures are gorgeous! The black and white one is breathtaking! Congratulations to you! -
1 year ago today, I made a decision to change my life. And what a life changer or has been! I was diabetic on 2 different Mixed diabetic meds, so basically 4. Have gotten my A1C to 5.0 from 7.2. And no longer need any diabetes medication. Down to 1 high blood pressure pill instead of 2. 1 cholesterol pill instead of 2. And my triglycerides were over 600 are now 95. I did not do this for vanity, I did it for me, my health and my family. I want to live to watch my nieces and nephews grow up. I was in a bad place for a long time, and food was my outlet, my comforter. My shattered world is still wounded (and always will be) but not broken! The pics are on top, the left, me at my highest, me before my surgery, me at the beginning of the year and the pic below them was taken a few weeks ago. It’s a daily struggle, but it was worth it! Thank you for all of your love and support and ty to my cheerleaders, who have been with me every step of the way.

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE

You guys are doing great! I would love to see before and after pics! I can not believe it is almost a year. I am having a lot of pain, so hard exercise I can’t do. But I have been doing chair assisted squats and moving around as much as possible. When I go to see the surgeon I am going to ask him about having the excess skin removed. He will have to talk with my insurance company. I sweat in places I never knew I could! Under my belly flab is the worst! It’s itchy and burny and irritated all the time. I do have nystatin powder prescribed, but the biggest problem is my belly button.I it seems like it always is infected, and it feels damp and gross all the time! So we will see what. He says on the 25th. Rainbow-Warrior I completely agree! But I now get some annoyances since the surgery with restaurants. AppleBees is awesome, they let me order off the kids menu. A lot of buffets give me the children’s price. The other day, we went to a place that is both order off the menu or buffet. So I asked about price and I explained the situation. The owner said no and he has never heard of such discounts. I looked at the menu, a fruit plate with cottage cheese was $9? Really? The buffet is $14. People don’t make sense. I can eat 1 c of food. So I am getting it from a different angle. -
OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
kandywolf replied to RomAnca's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me, I don’t have a follow up until later this month. After my 1 year mark. I see my original surgeon on October 25th and the nutritionist, October 22nd. I was sleeved 10/17/17. When I started my weight loss journey 2 1/2 (1/1/16) years ago I was 350. I was 260 the day of surgery and of of my weight right now is 196.2 lbs. (Monday morning weigh in) Overall I am happy with my weight loss. I think I lost more in the way of inches than weight after the surgery. I was diabetic and stopped my meds 10/7/17 and haven’t needed them since. I was taken off 1 of my 2 high blood pressure pills and 1 of 2 high cholesterol meds. Some of my meds need a dosage change, and that will be from the blood work before I see the surgeon. I have had horrible reflux and it can be so horribly bad at times, but I had bad reflux before surgery. Before and now size 28 which in reality was probably a 32 (gotta be places like Lane Bryant and Woman Within, who have a very generous cut) to a size 16. Some a size 14. My only 3 issues is my boobs are gone, Mostly just skin now, my turkey neck and my belly button is wayyyy low and gets infected a lot from no air. There will always be issues but the good far out weighs the bad. The 1st set of 3 pics are 1, left at my highest, 350, 2nd one before surgery at 260, 3rd is new year 2018 at 225, and the other pic. Is now at 196 taken last week. I don’t even look or even feel like the same person. -
This is way hard! And extremely frustrating! I live with 4 other adults and 2 “kids” 14 and 4. My milk is Silk protein nut milk, which it cost $3.49 a half gallon, where as Almond milk is $2.59 and reg. 2% is under $2. I have very limited income ($300/ mo) and fs under $200 a month. I have been hiding the choc and van flavors in my fridge in my “room” and put only the reg in there. They don’t touch that! (Haha) or my coconut oil spread (butter substitute) I do shop for the whole house, with a “budgeted amount” they give me for their food. I buy us the same yogurt, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese. Funny that flavors I “hate” show up on my shelf. So someone is swapping out flavors because I hate peach and strawberry banana. But somehow they get traded out. If you don’t like them, don’t switch them out. Especially with something you know I can’t stand and literally the smell makes me sick. (Peach) and my dairy free and low sugar ice cream. There are literally 10 half gallons of ice cream in the house (no I am not joking) and would prefer to take my $5 a pint halo top. I just don’t understand people, and don’t think I ever will. To me it’s respect. My shelf is clearly marked and so is my shelf on the door. But it doesn’t stop them, especially when my fridge is downstairs, and my room is upstairs

OCTOBER SLEEVERS CHECK IN HERE
kandywolf replied to RomAnca's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am swinging back and forth between 199 & 203. It does get discouraging at times. I need to move more. I need to get out and walk, I need to get motivated and squeeze time in for the gym. This upcoming “holiday” (ours is Thursday through Sunday) I will be outside a lot, and doing a lot of walking. I am so excited not to be cooped up in the house! Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, my family and i will be attending a Christocentric Conference in Indiana, PA! All day Thursday and most of the day Friday, we will have a beautiful house with tons of space and a lot to do! Packing up the good stuff I need to take along. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend fellow Americans! Our last real holiday of summer! -
My dr refused to do my procedure until a pregnancy test. They straight cathed me and nothing. The nurse that cathed me thought she was in the wrong hole. So i got poked by a cath where there was no hole. I never screamed so loud! Because of the pain they got enough out of me to do the pregnancy test. I explained i had my tubes”tied” and had not had sex in 4 1/2years! I held everyone up for 45 minutes

I went to bariatricpantry and bought the syntax matrix sample pack, as I could not afford the nectar. I think there is 11 flavors. I bought them a month before my surgery and tried a different one every day. In the end, I chose perfect chocolate and peanut butter cookie.(if you are on pure liquid only, the pb cookie one will need to be blended or strained because of the cookie pieces.) i found that when I would put it, milk and ice in the blender, and it tasted like a wendys frosty! This is especially great for at night when my bad habits used to kick in. For on the go, I use silk protein nut milk (I prefer the chocolate) and shaken really well with the perfect chocolate powder, reminds me of a melted milkshake!

I have finally made it into onederland! Since I have had an 8 week stall, this is amazing,. I have a great support system and the biggest cheerleaders. And also the people on this board for the help and support. 💋

Hair falling out at 4 1/2 months post-op
kandywolf replied to LoriWhip's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have lost most of my hair, and I am 8 months out. I do have regrowth and have cut my hair off. Make sure you are getting your protein and water intake up. Good luck! -
I am glad you found out sooner, rather than later. I am sorr6 to hear this, but I am glad you went through with charges and pfa in place. You are a strong woman, and I am glad you are so much happier! We have struggled for so long, and we deserve this. In a real relationship, they won’t question your every move, throw it in your face that you dont love them, and make you feel like you are the bad one. Nope it is them, because that is narcissistic behavior. I am glad you are out of that. Live for you and your new life! Keep on keeping on!

Ok so, I am wondering how OP is doing? Have you kicked him to the curb? I am still with the fantastic guy, I seriously see what I have done wrong. I hated my physical appearance. I loved myself, inside, but all we see is outside. And that is so hard when you look in the mirror. Now that I am down 145 lbs, I wonder what I would look like if I met this guy sooner? Failed relationships and divorce have hit me hard. On 1/1/16, I started a new journey. For ME! To love myself inside and out, no matter what! And some days I struggle with that.. especially the last few days (I have now lost most of my hair and look like Joe Dirt, and today was the anniversary of the death of my mother 4 years ago, and the birthdate of my best friend who died in 2016) and I have made it through. Please dont think you will be alone forever. You wont. You need to find mr right, not mr right now. Love alllll of you, then look.. you may be surprised!

Anyone not need plastic surgery?
kandywolf replied to TexasMommy80's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have! I have the same scar. It kinda looks like my neck is connected to my body. Underneath is caved in and above it, it isnt bumpy, to me anyway, it does seem like the more I lose in my face, the more noticeable the top is, as it sticks out further. I was 350 when starting 1/1/16 and lost alot of weight since. I have the surgery on 10/17/16 i was down 90 lbs on my own. I am now 205. I had the thyroid surgery in 11/2016. So i think that boost was a part in the weightloss. -
Yes, constipation! That was horrible! I wish i would have known with the sleeve surgery i would never be able to take any nsaids , i may have gone with the bypass. my whole body hurts. I was never informed before surgery. I should have done more research. A friend 5 years out does take ibuprofen now, but she didnt have reflux before or after surgery, where mine is horrid! I take protonix 2x a day and carafate at bed, and if needed.

Scared by doc will say no
kandywolf replied to DVontesmommy1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats awesome! I didnt need a referral because of my bmi. I went to a seminar once I moved to Reading. It is a place where a couple people i know have gone. It is the weight management center. They have been absolutely fabulous with this. Everyone from the guard in the lobby, to the girl at check out. They also have a clothing closet! I have gone from 5x to 2/3x depending on length. No charge. 5 outfits per thursday. I can only go once a month, so they allow me a little slack! They ladies that take care of it are wls success stories! It is nice to see! I finally have a cute red dress to wear Sunday, or Saturday night, depending. Lol for the first time in a long time I have self confidence. I mean there are still some things I freak out about! #1? When everything is too short! Shirts, dresses, tanks! Skirts and shorts i am usually ok in. #2 colors! Ok so I have never worn red in my life! I thought i looked frumpy in red. Now, its different! I never used to wear stripes, now I do! Things I wouldnt think of trying on I do! This is for me. Not for peoples eyes. Diabetes runs in both sides of my family. I took my last diabetes medication on October 6th and have never had to take another! My ac1 is 4.8 when it used to be 7 -
Do you have to do low carb/Keto?
kandywolf replied to Skinnygirl1984's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do a spin on the South Beach Diet. No white anything.. flour, sugar, Pasta, rice, bread. Better for you carbs that sustain you longer. Thats how I lost 90 lbs before my surgery. Also no sugar, and I tried stevia and it gave me a migraine. So my pastor grows stevia, and i went over and took a leaf and ate it. No migraine! So stevia in the raw is my go to sweetener and splenda for baking, for other stuff! -
The one thing you could not live without post surgery
kandywolf replied to Oceanlove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There was a few! I couldnt do crystal light. It would give me horrible reflux. I went to 4c, they are splenda instead. A long charger, yes Bone broth really helped if i had the yukkies (nauseous) one of my friends made me a ton! I still have a few in my freezer! Ya never know! I agree with the drinking. It is very hard at first. I did sf propel and powerwater -

Ty and if it is like cheesecake, I will like it even more -
Psssht, girl, he is NOT worth it. I have had x’s in my past who did the same, and time and time again have taken me away from myself. Thinking I wasnt good enough. No, the problem is I was too good for them. I was sleeved in Oct. and I met a guy in mid February. (CDFF app) our first date was planet fitness! We met at starbucks in target. He knows and is very understanding. He is my inspiration. I have been really getting down in myself because of this 6 or so week stall. He kicks me back to reality. He gets me to look at pics of how far I have come, and makes me hold up/try on the jeans I used to wear. He helps me not be/ get discouraged. He isnt isnt super skinny, and he is not fat. He has a tad extra. But he wants to get back into shape. (He had a heart attack a year and a half ago) SW 350 (11/15) BSW 260 (10/17/17) CW 207 (4/24/18) RGW 199 GW 175
