I like Dr. V's down to earth approach and wanted to share: https://www.sleeveacademy.com/p/MindGames Disclaimer: there are a few f*bombs and profanity used for those who are offended by cursing

Great decision & good for you girl! Feel free to message me anytime

Baritastic, yes - and I promise you that tracking will be so much easier post-op. I flat out told my nutritionist that refused to track because it was too much and boy did my tune change during the pre-op diet and beyond. Sometimes, weekends mostly like you, I miss tracking and the day gets away but I have a somewhat mental idea of what I'm consuming. As for the food choice now - I get it. I needed to eat all of the wings because I would never eat wings again. Guess what, I've had wings and probably a taste of everything I thought I'd never eat. It was my inner fat girl freaking out and I think it's normal. But I assure you, it'll be okay.

I too am in the same boat as you, a super busy life, 2 girls (4&12) and a hubby who doesn't need to lose either. During the last 5 months there has been times that fast food/gas station food has been the only on the go option. So at 7-11 I may pick peanut butter and apples, McDonalds - just a cheeseburger (which is wayyy better than what I used to order :)), Wendy's - a chili or salad. I do a quick search on my baritastic app to gauge the protein and nutritional value when making my decision. I've not been anywhere yet where there wasn't an option for me (and my family). This is forever and a lifestyle change. Don't not eat - you'll come to regret your surgery by feeling left out. Just adapt and do what's best for you.

Thank you all for posting. Gosh, it's so great to know that we all are having similar thoughts! I mean who else would get the thought of looking at a body part in amazement and second-guessing that it's yours. I hate that we have similar struggles, temptations, bad habits - but it's good to know you're not alone. Have a great Monday guys! -

The willpower and mindset is awesome! Looks like you're pretty darn close to your balance (I may have sat there and took a bite) Good for you! I'm so glad it helped! <3 And girl, I can relate.. Self-realization is the first step towards your success. And it looks like you have a good plan in place to be successful long-term. It's a marathon, not a sprint. -

It's so true! And I'm with you on hopefully finding a good balance. Since Nov, I've either overcompensated by making 3 course meals for the family or been leaving them high and dry because I'm so disinterested. Hopefully, things settle down and normalize where food isn't such a big deal, ya know... -

Under my plan, yes. After 3 months I can eat whatever I want as long as I'm reaching my protein and calorie goals. Had carrot sticks with dressing yesterday with no issues (3.5 months). Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Milk products with higher lactose (thank goodness not cheese ) and anything heavily fried. Eggs are iffy.

So happy you were able to find help. Feel better soon!

How about almonds, pistachios, nut mixes? Apples & peanut butter, Deli meat rolled with cheese, yogurt. There are also prepackaged protein packs for on the go. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm so sorry to hear that. Can you make an emergency appointment with your surgeon or nutritionist? Personally, I've experienced a boost in energy post-op. Perhaps your fatigue is caused by not consuming enough calories. Also, I find that taking vitamins before bed eliminates that crappy feeling. Feel better soon! When was your first time having to dine out??
JCKlgl123 replied to 2feelinggreatagain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you can be successful at eating out with a bit of a shift in perspective. I've made eating out so much more about being social than actually eating. My focus used to be all about the food and how fast I can shove it down my throat. Now it's about connecting and catching up with my company. I too have a 3 year old - you can focus on him and let hubby eat peacefully. So I don't feel awkward or get questioned by the waitstaff, I order a water - that I don't drink unless conversation goes 40 minutes beyond eating. I order small and appropriate. And (for the first time ever) I happily share. My family loves me for this. If you're not able to order exactly what you need or think you should have - make the best choices you can and supplement with a protein shake after you leave. Stay social! You can do this! -
Having Gastric Sleeve and I’m scared!
JCKlgl123 replied to KrystalRose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I remember the feeling of being so scared and nervous pre-op. For what it's worth - I'm only 2 months out and I don't even remember the pain from the first couple of days. Those days will be painful, but it'll likely be a blur. The rewards are so worth it! Good luck to you on the 30th!! [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Tummy Pictures?? Anyone brave enough?
JCKlgl123 replied to BrittneyH's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I totally agree with @Geri Marie. Started using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Firming Butter pre-op and noticed a difference then post-op added bio-oil to the mix. I have existing stretch marks from yo-yo-ing and 2 kids so loose and marked skin is something that scares me too. Nothing will prevent saggy skin but using those products make the appearance smoother, tighter looking, and less marked. Regardless of the final outcome, I'm sure you'll love all the good that comes with being lighter! Good luck to you! -
