Is there anything you wish you knew before surgery?
CSH_SD replied to Zemi's topic in The Gals' Room
I wish I'd known how much I comfort eat so that I could have started working on alternatives BEFORE surgery. Nothing like feeling stressed, sitting in front ofmyour favorite comfort food, eatingmplan be-damned, and being full after 5 bites. 😂 I wish I'd known how quickly my clothes size would change so I could get into a clothing exchange right away. I wish I'd known about the gas and constipation and weird breath and burps. Don't regret it for a second. -
Checking in on this thread as I had my 6 month post op visit last week. Labs were great even though I'm not consistent with my vitamins. Weight loss is frustratingly slow but steady at 1.3lb/week. For my NSV, I'm in a size 14, a size I haven't worn since 1984! Therapy is a bit of a slow grind and family life is a bit stressful, but so far, I feel really on track. My downsides are 1) Heartburn, 2) Constipation still, and 3) Hunger has come back some. It takes a long time for the hunger.. many hours, but I didn't miss between meal hunger. I included my 6 month before and after. Anyone else want to share?

Greetings fellow November 2018 sleevers. I haven't checked in here in ages but today was my 3 month check up. So far, I'm down 25.6lbs since surgery which is PAINFULLY slow, but steady. I try not to stress over the scale even though I'm jealous of other people's progress. That said, I can't afford clothes often enough to keep up with rapid weight loss, so it's really a silver lining. My mood is great, my health is excellent, and in general I feel like I'm rocking this weight loss thing.

Weight loss stopped after 5 weeks?
CSH_SD replied to Barbara H.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We had surgery near the same time. I'm only 14lbs down at 6 weeks out. So you're doing amazing. Every time I second guess myself, I remind myself to trust the process. This tool works and everyone loses weight differently. You've got this. -
One week post op GB and hungry
CSH_SD replied to Rayemcl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I mistook heartburn for hunger in the first week post op. The PPI and a prescription for Carafate fixed the acid and I realized the gurgling and hollow feeling wasn't hunger at all. I'm now two weeks out and I do get peckish but it doesn't feel like it used to. For instance, this morning, I had to leave the house insanely early (0430), and I wasn't hungry at all. I got back home at 0630 and felt a bit peckish so I had half a green smoothie. I did not feel hungry again until about 1300. -
We're surgery buddies. I check-in tomorrow morning at 7am PST. I'm surprisingly nervous, considering this is a lapband revision. Good luck to you.

Tomorrow's my day. I'm just ready to start this next phase. I'm worried about reflux, but I'd rather have heartburn and weigh 100 lbs less.

First time poster. My surgery date is 11/20/2018. I'm converting from a LapBand which I had removed 5/2018 because of a prolapsed band and severe reflux. My LapBand surgery was 11/2002.
