any November 2017 sleevers?
bogglesauce replied to Sugar42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Lina! I had my sleeve done 11/22 and have been recovering since then. I'd be happy to share some advice! 1) It's really important to consume as much liquid (and protein) as you can after surgery. Stay on top of water and protein shake consumption every hour, even though you may feel like sleeping all day. 2) Follow your doctor's plan very closely. That's what matters most. -
Thanks! I'll have one now

The worst pain I'm feeling is gas stuck in my left shoulder and pain in my ribs when I cough, burp or hiccup. Also going from a laying down position to sitting up is painful on the left side of my abdomen.

Hi there, thank you! I'm feeling a LOT better. I switched to ice instead of a heating pad on my torso and it made a big difference. The drainage tube was collecting any excess blood and water that may have been collecting near the outside of my stomach after surgery. Pic attached here.

Finally heading home today from the hospital - my surgery was 2 days ago and the pain I felt afterwards was the worst pain I've been through in my life! Once the nurse took my drainage tube out of my torso, I felt a lot better. Anyone go through the same thing?

I think you wear it for as long as you feel comfortable with it. I don't think you're required to wear it for a minimum or max amount of time.

Hope your procedure went well today!!!

Still in a lot of pain since my surgery on Wednesday morning. Staying in hospital for one more night and hopefully getting discharged in the morning pending how well I'm coping with the pain. Anyone have advice on dealing with Pain? Does it get better by day 3?

How am I supposed to fly on a plane with my meal replacement shakes?
bogglesauce posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to fly from Chicago to San Francisco on Sunday and I am currently on my pre-op liquid diet. How do I carry my shakes on the flight? Will a doctor's note help me? Should I contact the airport and ask? -

Hi there, My highest weight was 311 and I've lost about 20-25 pounds so far during pre-op. I just started my liquid diet a week ago and still have three more weeks to go - not sure how much I will lose but I can definitely tell I'm losing. Anyway, my goal weight is 160 and I've noticed that most people who get down to a similar weight started off around 260 or less. I'm wondering if, since my starting weight was 311, will I even be able to achieve 160 years from now or should I adjust it and raise it to 185 or something like that? Any advice or tips? Thanks so much in advance!
