Still on purée , pain was starting to go away (which made me happy) then randomly came back still trying to figure out if pain is surgery related or bowel related (near hernia) ...just walking around the house is a chore... I’m hungry all the time and when I eat my purée it seems to get stuck and hurts.. I know it is all temporary but as of today I’m a bit bummed Sorry if it seems gloomy .. I’m just struggling as my 4 year old needs his mom and being almost 30 days out ... I feel bad/useless and really missing his super squeeze hugs!!!

I’d be interested in hearing on how you appt goes ... my dr only scheduled one for week 7 for me... sure wish it was sooner ( it seems the average is 2 to 4 weeks)

I feel the same way .. ( surgery Oct18/17) the pain in my side and when I try to drink or eat has me struggling with anxiety. I’m also Struggling to get my water in because of it ... I guess I’m feeling very alone

Hi I was sleeved Oct 18, 2017 ..I’ve also stalled, unsure why. Perhaps it’s cause I’m struggling to get my water in ( im lucky if I can get 20-24 oz).

Hi all I’m from NB and got my surgery on October 18, 2017 by Dr Rousell in Bathurst NB. ( my referral was made in May 2013) I’m in my 2nd week post op with pain on left side which is preventing me from being able to do much of anything (no reaching , bending, minimal walking) I’m hoping it just goes away soon .

Hello, I’m new here. I’m about to have surgery and my thoughts are all over the place. I’ve been waiting since 2013 and now that the date is here I’m scared. I feel blessed to be given this opportunity and fear to disappoint. I fear I won’t be able to keep up to what is needed of me ( malnutrition). Anyone out there have any thoughts on this .... I’m hoping to touch base with people who are also just starting out as well as people who have experience to share.

That’s impressive... congrats on your speedy recovery my first check up is only at 6/7 weeks... my staples/stitches are coming off on the 30th ( day 12 ) at a local clinic.

How’s the pain? I’m struggling with the pain still. I have a 4 year old who needs me so I’m hoping it stops/ gets better sooner then later

I’m still having a lot of pain on mY left side. I’m struggling to get all my water and protein in. But I’m thinking it can only get better. I just don’t do well with pain. After reading about other people’s experiences I still don’t know the average time for the pain to leave.

Congrats and I hope all went well. Mine was on Oct 18th. I’m 1 week post op and finding things a bit tough.

Congrats on your decision to change your life. I see your 3 weeks post op and your already at the gym ? I’m impressed!! When did the pain from surgery stop? I’m 7 days post op and still in pain ... do you have any advice?

Update: It’s been exactly 1week (dr said all went well) But I can barely bend ... sitting and standing is tough... when I cough I feel like I’m being stabbed...I keep hearing how others seem to be up and about and back to work at 10 days ? Looking for feedback ... what’s the average? With a 4 year old im anxious to give him a big hug instead of these half ass ones lol

Thank you for the happy thoughts, much appreciated I’m getting ready to go to the hospital now and hoping all goes well .... I didn’t realize you could be back to work in a week??!! My dr told me 6 weeks min ( this is to allow you time to adjust to your new diet as I’ll be weak from very little Food the first month at least) but who knows maybe it’ll be faster recovery.
