  1. You're definitely not alone! I'm 2 weeks post-op too. I'm having a hard time with the protein and getting enough as well. And I'm eternally running out of energy. I used to do 10k steps a day at work + all the physical duties. And here I can barely go a few minutes of doing something and I have to sit down for a while and catch my breath. I'm looking forward to when I can add in meat etc - I'm hoping it'll help with my protein intake and my strength.
  2. They really are! Have you tried the 42g Core Power yet? They're just as good! My surgery was 12/3 and with the VSG/SADI & hiatal hernia repair - I was in surgery for 4 hours. I'm doing ok but my pain creeps up after a while. i drink tiny little baby sips and belch immediately after. Bigger sip = stomach pains *and* a bigger belch or several small belches. Currently having a hard time getting down the 64 oz of fluids. But I'm working on it!!! I ate some strained cream of mushroom soup yesterday with fairlife milk (13g protein per serving) and tomato soup today. I felt bad at the post-op class in the hospital - another woman and I seemed just fine but another joined us and she seemed so incredibly miserable. Painful, nauseous, etc.
  3. So liquid diet... I'm down 25lbs since starting it two weeks ago. I was 288lbs at my pre-op bloodwork visit and 263 today. This means I still have about 100lbs to get to a "normal" BMI. I switched to Fairlife protein shakes because I hated the Premier but my doctor wanted me to switch back. He says he has much better results with liver shrinking and Premier. Anyway - TOMORROW is surgery day! Covid test, packing bag... I'm getting ready!
  4. My surgery date is Dec 3rd. It's soooo close. Liquid diet for 2 weeks. Not loving it. I'm having the sleeve + single switch + hiatal hernia repair. EEEEEK. I should be an old hand at surgery these days. A loooooong time ago - I lost 380lbs w/diet and exercise. I was staying steady at 140-150lbs. So I had a tummy tuck & arm flap removal (Brachioplasty). Then I started yo-yo'ing and then I lost my Mom to covid last December. I've gained soooo much since then. My Mom was in the hospital - just days before we lost her - submitting my info to Blossom Bariatrics in Vegas for gastric sleeve. She wanted me to do this because she knew I was happier and healthier when I was thin. So here I am. Because she was right. I've also had my gallbladder removed, my right hip was replaced 4 years ago. My left hip was replaced 2 years ago. So I shouldn't be worried about this. But, eeeeeek. I'm not a fan of needles, etc. I just hope I can be discharged from the hospital in one day. Also, I'm in Raleigh, NC.
  5. I'm on my 7th? I think? day of the liquid-only pre-sx diet. I'm actually struggling to drink enough of the protein shakes. I am supposed to drink 5 protein shakes and water every day. I'm a little worried about my low intake. I know I need the protein. I just can't seem to get them down. I also skipped this holiday with my friends (my family is in Buffalo, I'm in NC) because I didn't want to be tempted. My BF keeps saying I'm almost there. I keep saying... Yeah, for my SX but I'll be on liquids for a month or two after surgery! I cleaned out the fridge so there wouldn't be temptations. I have 2 more workdays and 1 week left. EEEK. I'm glad I don't have to quarantine. I'm surprised they're requiring it from you. I would think they would be more concerned about you getting a nosocomial infection from unvaccinated hospital staff rather than staff getting something from you!
  6. My surgery (SADI+hiatal hernia repair) is on Dec 3rd. So I'm on the liquid-only diet as well... My coworker handed me a piece of chocolate the other day and I ate it without thinking. Ugh. But it's already done and nothing I can do but try to be better about it. I don't have to quarantine (thank goodness because I still have to work!) but I do have to take a test within 3 days of the surgery. I'm trying not to be nervous but I am.
