Calling all October sleevers!!

I didn’t even get staples! It’s so crazy how everyone’s procedure is so different. I got like this skin glue that dried down hard and then flakes off as you heal. My little bandages came off 2 days post op and I was able to shower and everything. Staples sound rough! Glad you got those out! -
That makes sense. I walked to much in the hospital and I felt great. but have pretty much been in the house since I was discharged. My energy has been so low. But I’ll make sure I get out the rest of this week! Thanks

If you don’t mind mixing it yourself Unjury is pretty tasty. My doctor recommends it and it’s what they gave me in the hospital I was going to use premier protein but my dietician said the amount of protein it states is inaccurate. I forgot how they

What did you take to hospital?

My fav sweats & t shirt. A moisturizing sheet mask as I heard anesthesia dries your skin out. Tooth brush, charger phone and headphones. Wish I would have brought chap stick because my lips were so try. -
I am 4 days post, most of the immediate pain is very very mild. Around the port sites itches more than hurts. Which is good cuz that means it’s healing. My main issue is the gas pain. It keeps me up at night. And one thing that nobody tells you, if you’re a female it is likely your will start your period within a day or 2 of the procedure. So you’ll have to deal with that too. So double bloat double cramp. It’s suck. But I have found peppermint tea helps a lot! Almost instantaneous relief. And a good way to get your fluids while simultaneously reducing gas. Just my 2 cents

As an avid foodie I cannot wait to get back to real food! So share your recipes with me! I’m really into fall produce rn. I have been living off of acorn squash and apple soup since surgery. Sleeved 10/13 :-)

It’s rough. My husband is eating healthy around me but still solid food. He made grilled chicken last night and I wanted to cry. [emoji31]

Is it only the acorn squash or all squashes? This is actually my first time having it I’m normally a butternut girl myself but my bestie made me this recipe and I’m hooked. I’m positive you can make it with butternut though.

If you’re not dairy sensitive what about cheese sticks or cubes? They have Cottage cheese that comes in the little containers like the pudding we used to get as children. I’m big on Meats and cheeses so many low sodium pepperoni with some cheese cubes and grapes.

I’m with you girl. The sound of puréed meat grossed me out. I’m probably going to stay away from meat until I get past the puréed stage. I think very soft cooked eggs are going to be the closest I get to meat until later

Amazon Announces post-merger Whole Foods Will Stop Gouging People
BDME replied to Véronique's topic in Food and Nutrition
I am a huge amazon prime lover and Whole Foods lover. Being in the city I have access to both. I saw an immediate drop in Whole Foods Prices the day of the merger. And Amazon prime started carrying Whole Foods brand 365 organic almost immediately. I am happy with the change -
I personally hate the taste of all artificial sugar. I’m also 26 and not ready to give up all bread sugar and carbs. I think personally I’d rather limit what I take in, and treat myself occasionally then to try to find chemically altered alternatives. All those artificial sweeteners scare me.

I have a nutri bullet. I got it as a wedding gift so I’m not sure how much it is. I think under 200. But I use it for everything. Tomato sauces, puréed soups, shakes the whole nine.

Oh ok so I’m not a weirdo! I have been doing the exact same thing! I used to make muffin tin quiches before surgery anyway so I’m all about those!

WLS scar removal suggestions??
BDME replied to Precious517's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just got sleeved over this past weekend so I have not been able to put anything on but I swear by mederma. I got into a fight in hs and had to get 4 stitches right above my left eyebrow. It left a raised scar. I used mederma for a month and it flattened out and the discoloration went away. It’s a little pricey but in my opinion worth it. My friend also used it on her Csection scars. But you can always use Vitamin E and aloe as well. -
Calling all October sleevers!!

I wanted to weigh in before I got discharged and he nurse told me no, to wait until by 3 week checkup because of all the fluids and gasses that get built up, it wouldn’t be accurate. So I’m trying to hold out for that, then I’ll buy a scale. But I have these one pair of jeans that I couldn’t get into comfortably before surgery that I plan on wearing my first day back to work. So that will give me some idea :-) ppl have commented that my face looks slimmer which is always the first place that looses whenever I loose weight, so something is happening. I wish you the best! Sleeved 10/13 in NYC. -
It took me a little under a year to do this and it should have been much quicker (insurance changes in the middle meant I had to start over [emoji849]) but it’s worth it.

Thanks!

Oooooo popsicles! Good idea! Will try tomorrow! I’ll ask the hubby to pick up some! And I’ll look up the Tervis Cup

Yes I was in the city on E68th Street. I wasn’t expecting it because I have PCOS so I’m irregular anyway. So it was such a shock, a good one though. I haven’t had a cycle in maybe 4 months. Any tips on sipping more slowly? I get a terrible air bubble every timeI try to get something down. No matter how slow I go.

My surgeon was Dr. Pomp. I was at NYP Weill Cornell Ues. So I’m not sure if we were in the same hospital. They used a type of skin glue on me and told me to take the bandages off day 2. I’ll definitely keep an eye on them. They look good now though. Lol about the bed pan. I was NOT here for it. I was like nope! I’ll get up! [emoji23] Right now I’m just suffering from this gas and the fact that NOBODY TOLD ME MY PERIOD WOULD COME ON! [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849][emoji849] I feel like that’s an important thing I should have been told. It came on moments after I woke up from surgery.

I was just sleeved on the 13th. My nutritionist recommended Unjury Protein. I’ve only tried the unflavored one which I added into some watered down tomato soup and it didn’t change the taste at all. Tomorrow I will try the chocolate but I hear good things, and it smells good! 21g protein 2g sugar
