People can die without food and water. I think Gandhi went 3 weeks with just a little water. However, he used fasting as a spiritual ritual and his body was used to it. A normal person would have severe issues and death.

any November 2017 sleevers?
MJP820 replied to Sugar42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m scheduled November 4th with Dr. Illan at BariatricPal MX. Traveling from Connecticut. -
That is a good point and motivational perspective. Thanks for the positive posting. There are also spiritual benefits. Fasting offers opportunity to connect with your inner self (soul) and God. Fasting gets intense because is is not a natural thing to do. We need sustenance to survive. It takes great power and control, and at times like that we call on our inner strength and spirit guide to get us through. This deeply meaningful experience can be profound and life changing. Hence why it’s used as a not only a physical cleansing but a spiritual one as well. It helps with refocusing use when we go off track. It brings us to a meaningful and purposeful place. Good luck pre-oper s [emoji93]

Great insight wjgo! There will be adjustments all around it’s good that your mind is looking forward in presentation and going with the flow. I used to hit the edges of doorways when I gained weight fast and their was no time for adjustment. I guess the reverse is true. My sister last a lot of weight and had a difficult time crossing over to the ‘normal’ section. She ultimately left the store. Change is challenging. If it was easy everyone would have no complaints. We can take the control back and create the body and life we deserve. I’m sure you will be able to use all your skills to be at the current level of expertise you strive for.

Can't wait! Traveling from Connecticut. A little worried about the long plain ride home after. But I'm super excited to have a November 4th date with Dr. Jalil Illan @BariatricPal MX

Hi Sparker7, Are you a fireman? I agree with your comments about the process before surgery. I'm sure it would make better sense if they took obesity seriously. I friend of mine went through 8 months of nutrition visits, psych appointment (like one will help), and exercise session. Most all just wanted their $$$ and did not care or understand the real issues people have with emotions and food. Anyway, glad you are moving forward. I have a surgery date of November 4th. Good luck. Keep posting your updates and progress. -

I'm not sure what's wrong with me
MJP820 replied to soready17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There’s nothing wrong with you. It’s sounds like you’re not connected to what’s right in you. Did you ever think of individual or group therapy or OA meetings? Or maybe start a healthy eating cooking group. Keep seeking an answer and you will succeed. Thank you for your honesty. It’s rear and appreciated. We all need to hear you and support each other. -
How do you plan to work around that fake hunger?

I'm hiding my surgery from family anyone else ?
MJP820 replied to mzsantiago88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only told my sister, who also had the sleeve. I have 3 close friends and I’m on the fence about saying anything. I’ve lost weight before so I may just go with the flow and not say a thing. Maybe share after not sure. It’s no ones business. People don’t tell me there intimate stuff so I’m not either. Plus the surgery is only a tool so I don’t want to hear the judgments and pitying if I fail. Best of luck. It’s going to be a huge change but worth the effort. [emoji255] -
Pre op diet- getting dizzy
MJP820 replied to BacktoSkinnyMadi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck on Tuesday. I heard a salt broth might help with dizziness or your dehydrated and need H2O.
