Is anyone experiencing hip and back pain. I currently 3 months and 3 week post-surgery. For the last few weeks, my back and hips have been causing unbearable pain. Could this be related to the surgery? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

how much cup size did you lose after a breast lift (not a reduction)?

What happened to my boobs after surgery....they just disappeared. Years ago, I had a breast reduction...but after surgery...I might need a pick me up or implants. Grrr!!! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Why is it that we can no longer for the rest of our lives drink carbonated drinks or carbonated water like Perrier?
Miss_Tee replied to apositivelife4me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Soda was my biggest vice pre-surgery. I used to love a ice cold Pepsi or Mountain Dew. I was a soda fiend. But after the surgery I knew I could never have it again....because the carbonation could destroy my stomach. So I treat soda like its invisible, its my coping mechanism and it works. What is the weirdest thing you have experienced POST OP?

I'm in week 10. My body is changing(losing inches) but that stubborn scale refuses to get with the program, lol. My daily calories are 500-600 so each day I expect to lose this astronomical amount of weight but the sleeve does what the sleeve wants to do. I have to do my due diligence and most importantly be patient...and everything will fall into place. My biggest problem right now is I'm issues with my back. The flare ups are more frequent. I have DDD in the cervical/lumbar but I don't remember it being this bad. I thought the weight loss would ease the pain. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I think fried fish is the only fried food I truly miss. Everything else I can live without. I'll have to consider an air fryer as well. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

Friday was the worst day since I started on solid foods. I'm 9 weeks post-surgery and things have been good. A few hang ups here and there but no major problems. I was work and pouch started to sting. I quickly tried to think was it something I ate but I hadn't tried any new food. The stinging feeling turned into a burning sensation. Whatever was in my pouch...it wanted OUT. I had to use the restroom at work...at work y'all. It was horrible and then I started to get the slimes....all I could think was....Why Me? I went back to my desk and the burning sensation started AGAIN...back to bathroom I went. Woe is me...this was horrible. I don't have acid reflux, GERD, or any similiar issues. The entire night that feeling just sat in pouch. Has anyone experienced this or something similar? Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

It's been 8 weeks and still hate the feeling when I eat, I can almost feel the food hitting my pouch. It a little uncomfortable at first. Does anyone else experience this feeling? Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee -
The shoulder pain is most likely from gas pain. Are you walking because that helps with the gas pains. I'm 7 week post op and I struggled with getting all my protein in. If I couldn't get my protein in I drink more water, that helped with the constipation...tmi..but hey...it gets real LOL.! I never tried tomato soup during my first weeks. It was jello, broth, SF popsicles, and protein....repeat and repeat. What are some of the other things you're eating?

Does anyone regret getting the sleeve?
Miss_Tee replied to Kadidy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Deirdre, That's heartbreaking that you haven't achieved your weight loss goal. Have you reached out to NUT or surgeon. Sometimes I get slightly green with envy when I hear people talk about their weight. I had a craving for Cheetos yesterday. I ate 3 and stopped...it was just enough to curb the craving. My doctor took me off one of blood pressure and heart meds. A week later I was back on a blood pressure pill with a beta-blocker. For some reason I thought after the surgery everything would be perfect. I found out quickly it doesn't work like that. Do you have any ideas why stopped losing weight? What are you eating? Are you working out? Protein? -
... i am embarrassed to ask

My surgeon sent me home with Miralax...no abdominal cramping and it works with a few hours. What I did was increase my fluid intake and now I d rely on Miralax. What a difference drinking water makes in the poop pool game. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee -
I had to learn the difference between wanting and needing. I thought I would never feel hungry after the surgery but when my pouch wants to be fed. I get a slight burning sensation. That when I know I NEED to eat. Right now your in the early stages, and we've all been there & it does better. Good Luck Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

Does anyone regret getting the sleeve?
Miss_Tee replied to Kadidy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 7 weeks post surgery and no regrets. Today we have an office birthday party. Mini cupcakes and fresh fruit topped with whippedcream. My co-workers felt bad because I wasn't eating. I haven't really experimented with fresh fruit yet and decided, now wasn't the time. I went to desk grabbed a protein bar and went back to the party[emoji39]. This may sound weird, but we aren't like everyone else. We sometimes have to adapt life around our pouch. Sometime we may find ourselves in awkward social settings. We should use those moments to remember why we had surgery. Also, I think after those first 4 or 5 weeks... you can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I stand by decision and I have no regrets. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee -
I'm on the depo shot and I'm not suppose to see Aunt Flo. I chose the depo-prova because my cramps were created by the devil. It could just be my body reaction from the surgery or if its just a side effect feom the shot. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

I would call Costco and ask them for a refund or exchange. You shouldn't have to alter the way you drink to enjoy a product. I wouldn't want you to get sick like I was. Also I wouldn't use a straw, causes gas in the pouch. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

Where did you purchase the shakes? I purchased some from Costco and they made me sick. About 2 weeks later I get a post card in the mail from Costco saying the consistency wasn't to standard and to bring them back to the store for a refund. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

We're in the same boat. I've been drinking ALL my fluids and protein. I'm in week 7. I'm losing inches but my scale seems stuck between 204 and 205. It makes you wonder if you're doing something wrong. I can get my daily protein from a shake and protein bar. So I don't know what to do to move my scale. I use to be a bad menstrual suffer. Right before my surgery, I got the depo-prova shot. Some people say it increases your weight but I don't have the space in my pouch for junk food. So I don't gave any issue. No period since January, thank goodness. The IUD nor pills worked for me. No two are alike, they say. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

Hi Miss Dixie I'm 5 week out and this past week I've been jumping between 208 and 210. It's frustrating but the cause of my problem was not drinking enough water. So Wednesday- Friday I got all 64 oz each day and the scale moved to 205. Sometimes it just the simplest thing that need a little reset. The worst thing I've done so far was eat 6 cheetos...had a craving...satisfied the craving and back on track. We all slip up every now again we're human. Calories vs Protein= Distress. I'm 5 week post op and lost 30 pounds since surgery. My daily calories should be between 500-600. I've been very good with my food selection. Sometimes I have to go over my calories like 610 or 620 in order to get at least 64 oz of protein. This is my first stall and it makes you question your progress...am I eating too much, am I not eating enough,or should I increase my protein is causing distress lol. I started solids this week and I scales bounces back 210, 208, 210, and back to 208...the scale is playing with emotions, lol. I eat very little because the idea of pouch strecthing is a priority. I'm truly working hard to stay focus on my new sleeve. I've added protein bars to my regiment i.e. preimer protein or pure protein because the shakes don't work well my stomach. Can anyone give any advice or have had similar experiences. Thanks! Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee

Tome off work - how much??
Miss_Tee replied to baribetty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Danielle, My surgery was 4/3. Yesterday my surgeon gave me a return to work date of 5/7. It's possible I suppose I could have went back before then but my job performance would have been seriously lacking. Trying to stay on schedule with liquids, forcing my tired body to push myself without hurting myself, and making sure I get enough rest, which is a bit difficult because I start at 6:30 am. I'm a workaholic so it's difficult to sit at home. This surgery is suppose to be a lifestyle change and fresh start. I neglected my body to get to this point and I wont cheat myself in the healing process. I applaud 👏anyone who has the ability to return to work immediately. Some people return to work for financial reasons, they have desk jobs with very little movement, or they simply just well enough to return. I think we have to be honest with ourselves when it come to returning to work. Listen to your body because it's been through quite the traumatic experience ....it's confused. -
Tome off work - how much??
Miss_Tee replied to baribetty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been off work for 3 weeks. I see my surgeon today to see if he will release me to work. A portion of my job is high impact that requires a lot walking, bending, and lifting. While the other half of my job consist of massive paperwork at a desk. So it's anyone's guess if he'll releases me today. Show someone a little kindness each day~Miss Tee -
I had problems with the protein shakes. I switched to the unflavored powder and added it to broth and egg whites. Some days I met my protein and others I didn't. It caused me great grief for the 1st two weeks. I just couldn't hold down the shakes. Finally, I'm at week 3 and I can have soft food with more protein options. Hang in there...it will get better.
