  1. That is a great idea! Thanks!
  2. Hi - I had my surgery on 11/1 so a bit after you but I share all of the same feelings. Yesterday I had my 3 month checkup with the surgeon and felt MUCH better afterward so I will share with you: he told me that at 3 months they would expect to see 45% of excess weight gone. And they measure not from surgery date ( I've only lost 26 since surgery) but from your weight when you started the program. That made sense to me. So applying that math, I have lost 44% of my excess weight. Close, right?? If you apply that equation to your weight loss I think you are winning as well!! It looks to me that you have lost 42% of your total EXCESS ( using 266 as a starting point). Good job girl!! Life does get heavy sometimes. And this process is work, no doubt about it. Just know that you are not alone.

Insurance Change Month Prior to Surgery

Yes - Fallon wanted a longer pre-surgery time as I recall - I had done 6 months, I think Fallon was looking for longer than that. I can't remember exactly, but thankfully it all worked out. They paid it pretty much 100% after deductible.

    Surgery Tomorrow 11/1

Thank you!! Believe me, I'm praying too!
  5. Anxious. Not nervous, anxious. What if I chose the wrong surgery? What if something goes wrong? What if I'm the one who is nauseous 24/7 and can no longer work? YIKES!! I really surprised myself with the two week liquid diet. I have done great and really not hungry at all. Today, on just clear liquids, is a bit different. I'm really hungry.

  7. I take pantoprazol regularly ( Protonix) so I am nervous that the sleeve will make existing heartburn, etc problems worse.
  8. I went back and forth and have chosen the bypass for the following reasons: one, it is the gold standard and there are years of data and research, two, it is reversible if necessary, and three, I can't bear the thought of my stomach being cut off and thrown away. More intense surgery, yes - but the risk of surgery is far outweighed by the risk of being fat. I like immediate gratification and I want to see more weight loss. My Dr told me 69% of excess weight lost for the sleeve and 79% for the bypass. Surgery is 11/1.
  9. I start mine next week - 2 weeks of that. Are you making the shakes with water or milk?
  10. Anyone have any experience with this? I've had Cigna throughout the process and my surgery is scheduled for November 1. On September 28th my husband's company informed the staff that a new insurance company was taking over on October 1st. I am working on this every day and we are hoping for the best. Initially they said if we could provide the approval letter from Cigna that they would automatically approve me. However, we never fully submitted to Cigna, that was set for October 1st. The new company is Fallon Health, they are located in Massachusetts which is where my husbands employer is based. Any tips greatly appreciated.
