About Me

  • Biography
I have been overweight since I was 7 years old. I've been on so many diets in my lifetime. The only problem is once I'd stop "the diet" I'd gain it all back and more. When my grandmother passed in 2013 I gained 50lbs reaching an all time high of 330!

  1. Hi, I am three weeks post-op as of yesterday. I'm really looking forward to losing weight but I'm struggling to get my protein shakes in. I actually liked them pre-op but now they just taste funny and as they get warmer while I'm sipping it gets worse.

It is so hard!! Protein drinks can be so hard to swallow. There are other options. You might need to check out some stores that sell and ship protein stuff. I have used a Chicken Noodle Soup from BariatricPal. There are very few noodles but you can strain them. They are really tasty, and they have 15grams of protein. You might need to get creative and try mixing some nonflavored Protein in Sugar-Free Pudding or Jello. I buy GENEPRO unflavored Protein I add it to my ESPRESSO. You can't taste it at all. To be honest I tried so many proteins I would hate to know how many $$'s I spent. GENEPRO actually saved me. I can hardly use protein drinks now, sometimes it makes me shudder. LOL Good Luck with your WLS surgery.
