Yes, I was sleeved Aug 2014. Bypass is the type of revision surgery I am having. Thank you all for encouragement! Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I hate this fight. My insurance can pay for my revision. However, I am tired of this 3 year fight. I currently have an advocate fighting with me. It's not just about weight loss. I am fighting for my quality of life. I work and pay for my insurance. How dare they act like I don't have a disease called obesity! Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Counseling! People can be controlling, and jealous. You are getting more attention. He needs to build his own self worth. Please pay attention. And, realize a relationship takes two and being unhappy is a choice. Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Wow, my first wls was done on 08/01/2014. My highest recorded weight was 289 and that was underestimate. I am currently 215. I have GERD & 2 hernias! I am in pain each day. I work full-time and have insurance. I found a new doctor. It appears, he is in my corner. I have 2 avenues to pay for this revision. Remember that you are important and obesity is a real disease. I down 75 since my first surgery in 2014. I have developed extreme GERD and 2 hernias. I wakeup in and go to bed with pain. I have been depressed. I pay for part of my health insurance through my job. No one is doing me a favor! I ready to fight this out to the end. Lastly, I am clinically trained mental health professional. In 2014 I had my first wls (sleeve) sugery. I am 75 pounds smaller. However, GERD and 2 hernias later I need revision. I hate that this is seen as a some kinda failure on my part. I work and pay for insurance! Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Stall/concerns post sleeve to bypass revision
SeattleLady replied to lex2287's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I need revision too. While reviewing the research it appears the average weight loss after revision is around "30 to 60" pounds in a recent study. However, I think there is hope. Beyond the numbers really is our food choices. You get to decide how much weight you will lose. For me, it's choices or excuses. Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app -

Last night, I felt something that only existed in the lives of other fat people? My stomach fat has fallen down and a rash has started [emoji35]! I need revision based on 2 hernias and GERD! I stopped fighting for my revision due to moving, starting a new job and depression. My former bartric surgeon stated, "you need a robotic revision." He was no help at all. As of today, my new PCP has referred me to a specialist. Now, it's just a matter of how do I pay for it. I have insurance but is a tangled mess. It will get done. I am just holding on and doing the paperwork. One day at a time. Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Vent post. Drs in US won't see me because I had original surgery in Mexico
SeattleLady replied to VSG.LinZee's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I'm kinda late in this conversation. Maybe "stop telling them ..Mexico." I'hv been fighting to get revision from sleeve gastric to gastric bypass for 3 years (found out last year tI have 2 hernias and need robotic surgery due an earlier herina issue). I started a new job and have a new PCP. She referred me to a specialist immediately. Go to 250 miles to find a doc. You have the coverage. Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app -
I had a positive COVID test over a month ago! I have lost 18 pounds. I am so happy with the weight-loss. I still need to lose more. Revision was my goal. Does not look like that is going to happen! COVID sucks. Some people die or never fully recover. With my sleeve and after COVID the only thing I can eat is fish, over cooked veggies and a little rice. I don't know how to set a weight-loss goal on something that might Plateau at any moment! Has anyone experienced having COVID and been sleeved? Can you write about your experience? Thanks [emoji3059] Sent from my SM-G996U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

New feeling. Not hungry. Update.
SeattleLady replied to Tomo's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
This was over a month ago. How are things going? Did your surgeon give you goals? Do you still believe that your decision to have revision was sound? Thanks for sharing so much info already. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I just wanted to say, "never stop fighting for your life." I'm truly on the road to revision after over two years. I have completed 1 of 3 months of dietary counseling. I am scheduled for an exam on 9/17 to check my sleeve and throat. I have two other medical appointments (psychiatric and cardiac). Funny thing, I am still not excited. I haven't changed my mind. I am just a little scared! I plan to share my journey because it helped me to read other's stories. Its one day at a time! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

August Revision
SeattleLady replied to 2ndChance@Life's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am not sure when my revision will be done (November or December). I saw my former doctor 1x after surgery. He really disappointed me! Today, I plan to attend all after care appointments. I plan to remain in counseling for the next year. I am ready for individual responsees after my weight-loss. Its a real time of mental growth. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app -

You have lost 13 pounds in a month! On average with dieting people lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. You have gone beyond that point already. Be encouraged and continue to follow your program. You are inspiring! Please keep posting! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
