Anyony here banded by Dr. Snyder, Denver, CO?
Archermom posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hello, I made up my mind - I will no longer be fat - and I will use Dr. Snyder in Denver, CO to help me get my new life! Is anybody out there that was banded by him or thinking about having it done? I would like to get some feedback. :help: I will have my 1st meeting with him in a few weeks. Thanks. Carola -
Hi everybody; :help: My question has nothing to do with my band but I thought I'll ask anyway. I'm thinking about getting a Motorcycle for myself and would like to know what kind of bike(s) you ride and what you like about them - or maybe not so much? I would be glad for any input I can get. Thanks for your help. Carola

Good old MIDOL does the trick for me, is even OK by my surgeon since it's only for 3 days in a month. Carola

Hi tinybell; put a bandaid over it, make sure the wound does not have any gluepart on it as it could tear a bit more when you remove it again and then call your MD office tomorrow morning. They may have you come in for Steri Strips or just tell you to leave it open - it all depends on your MD. But for tonight- don't worry about it too much - like I said keep it dry and clean and you will be fine until you can ask the powers to be. Carola

Upps, I don't want to be here.... -
Just for Laughs! We've all heard about people having guts or balls. But do you really know the difference between them? In an effort to keep you informed, the definition for each is listed below.... GUTS - is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, Being met by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask: "Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?" BALLS - is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having the balls to say: "You're next."

Hi everybody- here is another gal from Colorado. Congrats to all of you for going the best way to a new life. I'm in Thornton. Was banded last year and I'm not loosing very fast since I had my foot in one of these darn boots for the last half year and had surgery on my wrist and have pins in it. But otherwise- hurray, I did not gain one more pound from what I had lost before. That is my huge accomplishment! Good luck to all of you. :clap2: Carola

Should Pets be more than Property?
Archermom replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi Marjon9; No, you are not stupid in giving your pets the good stuff. With Menu foods it's that way: they get the list on ingredients from the companies like IAMS, Eucanuba, and so on, and they only mix the different ingredients for every company together. That's why cheap dogfood will be made for Walmart, Kroeger, etc because they have a simple receipe and more high quality food is made for higher end pet food. The problem is that if one of the ingredients, like wheat gluten, is not good, but is in the receipe for more then one pet food - all the foods that have that ingredient are affected- no matter if they are low or high end foods. Hope this helps. Carola -

Hi skyeblu79 and Shesha and everybody else coming to Denver; How are you doing with getting ready for the band? I'm here in Denver too and it seems like we have to get ready for yet another round of snow for the coming weekend. If I can help you with anything please let me know- we all have to stick together! Heck , I would cheat in a heartbeat with the new James Bond- and my husband knows it! :heh: But since I am also a realist and know for shure he (James Bond) has absolutely no interrest for an over 40, over 200lbs woman (no matter how sexy) I think I'm safe. - Still- it's a shame. And my husband chuckles and tells me "At least you have a guy with the same first name" - since he is "MY" James. Otherwise- no chance of cheating. Carola

Hi Big Girl Banded; no worries about stepping on my toes - with size 12 (womens) they can handle a lot.... lol - and some more :laugh My Kids Dad; I was able to ride the VStar and liked it a lot- it's comfy even for longer distances. Crotch rockets - Oh my godness- these times a long ,long, long gone... I can barely remember them. (This is where my husband poks me in the side: we are not "that " old) lol. Harleys are nice but they seem really on the high end here. Hi kjojojr; you like your Honda? Maybe I should just go and also try one out for a day or so- HMMMM Not a bad idea. Love all your input. Have any of you been to Sturges? Would like to put that on my "TO DO" list in the future. Carola -

Hi everybody and Big girl banded; No- I'm not a newbie- but the last time I rode a bike was back in germany in the '80 and I was going back and forth between a BMW R 1000 and the Moto Guzzi California 1100. Just never rode an american bike and since I was busy with raising a family for a while I didn't really pay much attention to bikes beside some longing glances. Since my kids are big now and almost out of the house (Knock on wood nothing stops them..., lol) I think I'm ready to get back in the saddle. As for the questions about the weight and not being able to pick up your bike if you flip it (hopefully it just fell over to the side-and not with you on it) there is a really easy way to get it back up. And no- I have not crashed a bike yet and I'm not planning on getting started with that now. Remember- Germany is the country that still has autobahn areas with no speed limit.- You learn to handle that in driving school which everybody has to take. - Just as you learn to drive really sssllllooooowwwww. :straight Carola -

Hi Infaith! Good luck with your new tattoo! I'm having one worked on my back at the moment and have to say I can't sit longer that 2 to 2 1/2 hours at a time- that all the pain I can handle - and I still have a lot of coloring left to do! Maybe my hubby can take a picture tomorrow and I can show you what it looks when it's in work. I'm glad your mole was not malignant. Carola

Looking great DrewsLou! Don't think I will have my feet done in the near future, but I have gotten some on my arms. Mandy, could I ask you a question too? How do you take care of a new upper back tattoo? I plan on getting one in a few weeks and am kind of wondering. Thanks, Carola

Fresh from my shower, I stand in front of the mirror complaining to my husband that my breasts are too small. Instead of characteristically telling me it's not so, he uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion. "If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between them for a few seconds." Willing to try anything, I fetch a piece of toilet paper and stand in front of the mirror, rubbing it between my breasts. "How long will this take?" I asked. "They will grow larger over a period of years," my husband replies. I stopped. "Do you really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts every day will make my breasts larger over the years?" Without missing a beat he says, "Worked for your butt, didn't it?" He's still alive, and with a great deal of therapy, he may even walk again. Stupid, stupid man. :heh: :heh: :heh: :heh: :heh:

As Jammin & Losin already wrote, you should still be on liquids for a few more days or at least creamy or very well blended soups (Egg Drop Soup, cream of chicken etc...) Go back on liquids- try more warm ones then cold ones and if you have pieces in them make sure you chew them very well. Also make sure you don't gulp your drinks - from now on just sip, sip, sip .... Sometimes a heatpad will also help to loosen you up a little bid and you might try to eat with baby spoon and fork - just so you don't get to large bites down- they will hurt you too. The learning period has begun - make the best of it and - good luck to you. You will get over this and after a little adjustment time you will be feeling a lot better.- Promised!
