Discuss your situation with the doctor, or the staff dietician. I am a mid 40's male, and I have a limit of 1800 calories, 40% carb, 30% fat and protein. I usually end up at 1300 a day. (More guidelines that just that of course). Your BMR, depending on age size.... Should be a lot more than 1000 calorie.
