I could barely sleep two days prior to surgery because of the anxiety of not able to do the post-op diets. In the surgery recovery room, I came to with a flight reaction, and they had to hold me down for 3 minutes. It's s common reaction, I watched the same thing in done other patient beside me. For about an hour in the recovery room, I wondered what the hell I got myself into. It subsided. The liquid diet after surgery is about 85% less difficult the pre-op. It'll pass. Once you are on the next stages, it should go better than pre-op Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

Is this your personal doctor or the specialist? You didn't mention about and mobitity factors. That might be something to look into for insurance approval Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app -
May or June Surgery date:
wjgo replied to acrowder61's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My. Dr says to take 2 weeks off, and does not want me lifting more than 30 lbs. I help run a small family business. I was doing paperwork when I got home.... No choice really. Be aware, it is hard to maintain the post-op liquid diet. You need to be sipping liquid all day, to get your h2o in. Work can easily distract you. Also, you will have incision area pain for at least several days after the surgery. I am 4 days past coming home, and it hurts a lot to get in/out of a bed and I've been sleeping in a recliner. “Acting out” Before Surgery
wjgo replied to Jerseygirl4523's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the same thing, but I never choose to get less liquid. I loved it, had fun. Was on a program for 8 months. I went off of it s bunch, but hammered back down 2 days before liquid diet. I don't regret it. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Might be too late, but I was allowed sugar free jello, and they also suggestef Oikos Triple Zero yogurt, it had 15 grams protein. Another is Unjury Chicken Broth protein mix. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

7 months post op and ate a whole grilled cheese
wjgo replied to cassjade's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Instead of a grilled cheese sandwich, refuce the cheese and put deli meat on it for some protein. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Increasing vegetables can fill you up. I would oftentimes put a little virgin olive oil in a frying pan with broken up cauliflower, seasoned with a spice and fry it until it was soft and slightly crunchy. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

Are you keeping a journal of what you are eating? If not you should. The journal could tell you howuch protein, carbs, fiber, .... You are getting. I use an app called MyFitnessPal. It has a desktop/web version. The app can use a smartphone to scan a foods barcode in, and it will 99% be accurate. Also has a search function for it's databases. You enter your serving size. Also tracks water, weight and physical dimensions. FREE. Paid version let you customize meals and goals. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

My instructions are sip 64 ounces water, about 70-80 oz protein through liquids/yogurt/shakes. And sip the protein every 2-3 hours in "meals" stopping water before and after protein for 15-30 minutes. I am not exactly on the 2-3 hours, but I am reaching the protein and total water. But, my stomach still growls and I do get hungry at times. Is this normal? Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

Week Two Post-op: Too much sugar?
wjgo replied to HP62442's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my program, a drink with similar sugars as the image posted, is not allowed, for any part of any diet, pre or post operation. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Unjury Chicken Broth protein mix is suprisingly good. It's granulated protein and easily mixes with a spoon. Use it in warm water, and tastes just like chick broth. Cheapest place to buy I found was from the Unjury website Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

What's normal after dumping?

#5 General Tso's Chicken. But I always came back for more, enough that I should have some backup alarms when I need to use the toilet. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Got home from hospital a couple hours ago. It's hard to get up, and sit down. I've had a shot of codine/Tylenol liquid 3 hours ago, but it still hurts. Is there anything I can do? Dr. said to ask nurses for a heating pad, but during stay, I don't think it helped at all really, but I was also allowed to self inject through IV a painkiller every so often. Would a heating pad help? Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

For me, the pain is from inside, under the skin. But day 2 out of hospital, and it is getting better and tamer. Can only bend over slowly and hold guy to pick anything up. Been sleeping in a recliner to avoid rolling on a bed. But it is starting to subside little by little. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

Did you pose the second picture? I just had someone do some portraits of myself as a local spot. In intend to do that same poses again someday. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

I have a liquid combo of codine and Tylenol. It doesn't do much for much. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm actually going to a wedding photo shoot location and having some profile pics done, casual shots. Then visit the same location next year. My surgery date is Tuesday, so no results. I am an amateur/hobbyists photographer. Thinking about making this a business. That is doing photoshoots of pre-surgey people in the local popular spots. Then followup shots. I know very well fat people don't like their pics taken, neither do i. But, having gone through the surgery, I might be able to make a connection to clients and provide a brief and inexpensive photo shoot that can be replicated by me or other photographers in the future Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

I was told hello. But can have fat free yogurt, so I guess that would mean pudding is ok. But jello is more fun..... Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

There is nothing like hours of simulated violence, explosions, gunfire and grenade bombardments to rid yourself of that hunger..... Just in time for the final DLC of Battlefield 1. The mental concentration on the game and tram compitition completely dispersed any hunger feelings. Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app

Wait, I ask women in the grocery store all the time for help, for help, not for pickups. Nothing ever came of it.... Should I have hung out more in the chocolate and ice cream isles for rebounders? Sent from my XT1609 using BariatricPal mobile app
