1. Being able to fit in a booth at a restaurant. 2. Going somewhere out in public and looking too see what chair or bench looks sturdy enough to hold me. 3. This is gross.....but honest...the wiping thing is so true, but even harder is to wear a damn tampon!

Sleep apnea complications
spal66 replied to ginger334's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I too have sleep apnea and when I had my surgery there was no issue with it. The anesthesiologist did discuss my apnea with me and I did ask if it was a problem and he said no. I never did ask him what if anything they do different to address it, but I came through surgery just fine.:rolleyes2: -
I have had a cpap machine since 1990, and had no issues with surgery. The anesthesiologist did ask me before the surgery if i had sleep apnea, I told him yes, and he said it would not be a problem. You know I'm not really sure if they do anything different during surgery to counteract the apnea, but i came through it fine.

I have United Health Care, and their only requirement of me was a five year record from my pcp showing that I had been overweight and had sleep apnea. My doctor faxed that info to them and I was approved a week later. The whole process of being approved was 3 - 4 weeks. Maybe it depends on the state you live in. Good Luck

Hi, I'm Shari and live in Illinois. I'm 41 and have been married for 22 years. I have two sons, 19 and 11. I am currently leaving my job as a supervisor for a "Big Box" company, and moving into a much smaller less stressful job. I was banded on 3-31-2008 and feeling good!!! -
